This was only my second visit to Campo Wine Bar, and while it was my first wine tasting class there, it definitely won't be my last. Jeremy led an exceptional class focused on Portuguese wines, taking us on a journey through the country's diverse wine regions. Rather than simply tasting wines, he dove into the history, terroir, and winemaking techniques behind each pour. I especially enjoyed learning how wines are aged and preserved using stainless steel, oak, and even cement barrels. The discussion about cement barrels was completely new to me and ended up being one of the most fascinating parts of the evening. The class was held in Campo's side room, which was spacious and filled with beautiful natural light. It created a relaxed, intimate ambiance that was perfect for learning, asking questions, and enjoying the wines without feeling crowded. To accompany the tasting, we were served delicious canned tuna seasoned with paprika alongside locally made kettle chips from Moo Creamery, located just down the street. The pairing was simple but thoughtful, allowing the Portuguese wines to remain the star while showcasing another great local business. Jeremy has a gift for making wine approachable and engaging, whether you're a novice or a seasoned wine enthusiast. I left with a much deeper appreciation for Portuguese wines, plenty of new knowledge, and excitement to attend another class. If this first tasting is any indication, I'll definitely be back for many more. read more

Best of the best. This beautiful place has so much to offer. They have a variety of wines on rotation and know exactly what to recommend and let you try if you want wine by the glass or bottle. They also have a few NA wines for the designated driver :) Their light bite menu is also excellent- I love the beans, but am excited to try their version of fish and chips (sardines and potato crisps). On friday and saturday evenings they ususally have a talented musician or two playing to set the mood, they have a few patio seats outside on cooler evenings in Bakersfield, and best of all, the staff are the sweetest and most fashionable women I know. If you go when the market is open, check it out, especially if you're putting together a gift basket for someone. They also have a wine club and all sorts of other things to participate in, so definitely follow them on instagram if you fall in love with this place like I did. Love you guys! read more

Went here last night. I must say this place is cute. Ive seen it but never gone in. There are wines by the glass for purchase or you can purchase a bottle. I even spotted a bottle a bottle for sale from our local winery San Rucci. They were very accommodating and tended to our group nicely. They have tables for a cozy couple setting or bar seating. There is a room that can be set up for a larger group. There is a few tables out front in a fenced off area for a nice evening to sit outside. There was nice lighting, items for sale and small bites are offered. I did enjoy the visit and seperate tabs were kept which was perfect. I plan on returning again maybe to enjoy another evening with friends. So wether its an intimate evening or a quaint gathering give them a try. read more

Nothing gets better than a night out at Campo Bar & Bottle! From the Ambiance, to the service, to the wine selection- everything exceeds all expectations. When you walk in you are greeted by smiling faces and a warmly lit seating area (this place just feels like a hug!). Some nights they have live music, which just adds to the feeling of wanting to be there. They have drink specials scrawled on the wall highlighting what outstanding offerings they have, and a great menu of small bites (don't miss the beans and toast!). Campo is a hole in the wall. A lowkey Bakersfield gem. Something about this place at night is just so alluring and inviting. Well dim, comforting decor, wonderful staff. This would be the best place to go for downtown late night discussions. I ordered the mystery bottle and asked that although I am asking for something to surprise me, I would prefer one that isn't bubbly. I felt bad asking but she was very happy to oblige! My friends and I got a delicious sweet red Gamay Noir (I have never heard of that wine!) and it might be my new favorite red after a Malbec. Make sure you read the menu foodwise as you might not get what you're expecting. I also got the fish and chips and it was tinned fish with lemon and paprika. I love tinned fish so and this pairs much better than battered fish. Also got the beans and toast, and it is NOT like the british breakfast at all. The beans were huge with an acidic olive oil sauce. I recommend smashing it onto your bread. You get a hefty amount of beans so don't be scared to ask for more bread! read more

I finally made it over to Campo! I've heard about this place for a while, but generally end up at Tlo when I'm feeling a wine place. They have a rotating list of glasses/bottles. I believe it's always a bubbly, a white, a rose or orange, light red, and red. I opted to go for the orange wine. Alicia was serving us and she was great! She walked us through the different options, told us what to expect, and let us try before committing to a glass. The vibe was perfect for a wine bar. Look. I really don't like giving 5 stars. This place is a solid spot though. You get friendly service and a lovely selection of wine. We came in a few nights before Christmas and had the mulled wine. If was just lovely and the atmosphere inside was cozy. There was live music! The place is small and cozy and perfect if you just want to unwind and chat without having to compete with any loud music or surrounding conversations. This isn't the kind of place you have to worry about some 21 year old being belligerent and reckless. We had the beans and toast and it was yummy. Apparently you can even bring in your own food too as we saw someone get pizza delivered. My one complaint is that perhaps some more comfy chairs would make lounging around here more pleasant. After spending an hour or so here, my tush was really sore from the metal chair. Obviously this doesn't apply to anyone standing up. This might not be ideal for everyone after a long day out in the world. read more

Loved my time here with a friend on a random Wed afternoon. Super cute! Clean! Awesome restroom, even! I was greeted by Molly, the owner and my pourer and I just opted for a tasting of 5 small samples. No complaints and cannot wait to come back. Furry friends welcome but inside for now. There is no outdoor seating yet as they are fairly new but I was impressed with this place. It wasn't very busy today... but soon, I feel it will be hopping every day.
