XOL was once a nice, quiet lounge--a place to enjoy a good drink, unwind, hold a business meeting, or spend time with friends. Unfortunately, that atmosphere only lasted a few months.
Now it feels more like a nightclub than a lounge. The music is extremely loud, the crowd can be obnoxious, and the drinks are overpriced. The shooters taste like pure sugar with what seems like barely half an ounce of alcohol.
XOL appears to be trying to be everything at once--an upscale lounge, live-band venue, nightclub, and rave spot--but it has lost the sophisticated atmosphere that originally made it appealing. It may remain popular while there are limited alternatives nearby, but once another club opens around the corner, XOL may struggle to call itself either a club or a lounge.
