This Camping World has left me with the WORST EXPERIENCE while buying a camper from them. I've been trying to get a refund for scheduled service on my 2024 Keystone Cougar that they convinced me to purchase at the time, said they would call me when the parts come in. Fast forward 4 months and no call was ever made. I called to see what was going on and they claimed they lost the service ticket but have my parts. Now I'm out of the state and unable to come back so we jumped through hoops to get a refund started for me. It's been a month since a check was supposed to be mailed out and this so called "sales manager" Aaron apparently is only in the office 1 day a week it appears because I've called about everyday and he's never in or able to return call. So here is the latest update after a continued debacle with Camping World Springfield and the awning replacement. First of all, they finally got back to me and scheduled a date for me to drop off the camper to have the new awning installed. When I picked up the camper, took it home, and opened the awning, I was appalled at their selection. I was clear that it had to be blue fade, but the one they ordered had polka dots all over the second white fade section as well as all the other fade blue sections. I NEVER would have agreed to this pattern. Second, Jason Lowe told me over the phone they bought the new awning from Shad Pro, and that it was their second quality awning, or what Shade Pro calls "Premium" with a full white underside. But what they actually ordered and installed was a lesser quality awning than the original Dometic awning I bought that also had a full white under side. Third, to make matters worse, they never installed the two set screws at the top right and left side of the rails which prevent the awning from shifting left or right, thus creating misalignment and uneven wear. Fourth, the neglected to add enough spins to the torsion spring, so when I try to close the awning, I have to physically push on the arm brackets to get it to close completely. Fifth, as if the previous four were not bad enough, I still have no resolution on the improperly installed awning. It is now September 8, and no one calls me back to get this resolved and make it right. Here's my original complaint from August 20. I needed to have my awning replaced on my 18' Toyhauler. They wanted to charge me $800 just for the awning, so I bought it myself for half the cost, and asked them to install it. Well, they ripped the awning when installing it back in early July, and here we are nearing the end of August, and I have no resolution, and nobody calls me back. I even met with the service Manager Jason Lowe two weeks ago and he said he would take personal responsibility for a resolution, but he has not called me back even once. I am highly dissatisfied with their service. Aaron, who I originally worked with and who informed me that they ripped my awning, has not replied to my emails, nor called again for an update. I hope they get things figured out soon because I have another trip planned in October, and want my awning repaired before the trip. As of this moment, I would NOT recommend using their services. Um, Awning Replacement 101...remove all sharp edges on the rails. This is basic stuff even a do-it-yourselfer knows. I can't believe they don't practice even basic knowledge. read more

Been trying to get a hold of them for my title and they never answer for months. My paper plates have been expired for 2 months because of them. They got a hold of me months later just to tell me there will be fees I have to pay for title work if I don't send them a picture of my vin. All of this could have been prevented if they did their paperwork right the first time. Also if they answered months ago it would've been taken care of before any fees. Never answered the phone for months so unprofessional who ever is in charge of paperwork needs to do better. Even left a voicemail and still didn't get back to me. read more

We were staying at the fairgrounds for a week long horse show last week. Had a busted toilet valve and ran to Camping World. They were actually closing when we arrived due to not having electricity, but Bill from Service was walking out and stopped to talk to us and find out what we needed, he took us back inside to get us the part we needed to be able to keep using our water. Josh in Parts found the part for us in the dark. They took our name and number and sent us on our way to settle up the next morning when power was restored. Huge kudos to Josh, General Manager, Bill in Service and Josh in Parts for saving our trip! You don't find customer service like that much anymore! read more

Issues we had with a brand new purchase in the first 4 month. One, we bought our Class c in May 2022. Within hour of driving it home, we noticed the air conditioning was blowing out the defrost and not the main vents. Then Two, on our first trip the stabilizing and ABS break systems warns and disables cruise control among with the stabilizing system. Then three, on month 3 of ownership, we are at a campsite and the large slide will not come in. A local RV dealership discovered the wiring for the slide was wrapped around the motor and pulled the wiring which coiled when retracting. BUYER BEWARE! Positive Reviews are fake!!! Or ironically they have the same name as the employees. They respond to the review asking for more information but have failed to follow up since emailing. Backstory: I spent several weeks back and forth with these people and had a deal negotiated and was ready to drive down and pick up the camper this weekend. Unfortunately they weren't able to honor the deal, instead hiding behind a "corporate decision" to raise the price of the camper several thousand dollars. The manager called and left a non descriptive voicemail saying they can't do the deal and it was out of their hands, etc. He didn't explain how much it was or even ask if I was still interested. You'd think the "big brains" at the top of the organization would have liked to see a unit move from inventory , rather than sit another few months at a higher price. If you do business with these folks, be careful for the bait and switch pricing. It's very clear they don't really care about customer service and are trying to maximize their profit. the voicemail went something like this... Matt hello. Good evening. This is Rob Blair. I'm one of the sales managers for the gander RV in Springfield, Illinois. I know you've been in contact with sione a little bit, and I just wanted to give you a call back to {complete blubbering for 3 seconds} ..... the deal, that ... they , company has changed pricing on us. I cannot sell that unit for the price that was given to you. So, unfortunately, I cannot do that deal. They have raised the price on that unit to us. We have no control over that that's done by corporate. So I apologize, but if we can do something the future, please let us know. Have a great day and talk to you soon. No return phone number. No indication of how much the price was changing. No inquiry of my continued interest in the camper. Just some blabbering nonsense. In the voicemail They apologized. Usually people apologize when they make a mistake. This wasn't a mistake, it was a decision based on greed to back out of a deal last minute and put profit over customer satisfaction. To me, that is a huge red flag. I have no problem spending a little more but It won't be at any camping world or gander outdoors read more

We walked into Camping World recently and asked if they had a small camper for us to look at. They had ZERO interest in helping us and totally dismissed us. We decided to go to Hopper RV in Jacksonville and got EXCELLENT service and ended up spending about $30K on a brand new camper. I guess our business wasn't good enough for Camping World of Springfield. read more

This is the worst place to take your camper to to get fixed. I bought a brand new camper back in May. Had a water leak. I take it to them to check out why it's leaking. Was told it was the window so they caulked it. They bring the camper back out front and someone bent the jack on the front of the camper because the person operating didn't raise the forks up high enough. Just went back yesterday to have the door looked at and the screen they ordered put in. Main door was terrible to open and close. Was told they would look at it. I picked up my camper and got it back home. Over an hour away. To find whomever worked on the door used a hammer. They will have to completely replace the frame and door! Do not shop there for a camper or there for any accessories!!!! read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY After my mother passed, we looked into selling her RV. We got an estimated sale price from corporate, and then were scheduled for an appointment at this location for inspection and sale. First, they said they couldn't give us a payment because the only person who is authorized to write checks was out that day. Then, they agreed to the price and said it passed inspection. But an hour later a manager called and said it didn't meet his inspection for that price, even though he had signed the bill of sale himself. He called again the next day and accused of us being deceitful about the condition of the RV, even though we had been upfront with everyone that we weren't sure about the condition or any issues, since it had not been our vehicle (and that's what inspections are for!). Absolutely disrespectful and inexcusable way for a manager (John) to behave at any business. read more

They fixed are camper to our complete satisfaction! It is not camping world fault that these factories have crappy quality control!! The only complaint we had was the time it took to fix after purchase. But they made it right with me. So I added 3 more stars.. read more

Bought new fifth wheel in November found numerous things wrong on walk through. Took back December 17th, so far the camper has been there for 3 months and nothing has been fixed. I've made 3 payments on a camper I don't even have!!! Thinking about just giving it back and taking ding on credit!!!! read more

They suck was on the road with an issue wont even help 2 week wait, cant even send a tech out for 5 minutes to look at it would happily pay them, Thinking might be the invertor they have one in stock for 369.00. Online prices for same unit is 159.00. I can see a mark up no problem but over 100% and not sure if thats the issue. vacation will be over by the time they can take the time to diagnose which i would happily pay them what ever, thanks for nothing will not spend a penny at camping world. read more
