My husband and I are relatively new to the area and have visited and called Russ Dean Family RV several times now. We purchased our fifth wheel in TX and have traveled extensively with it and have visited multiple RV service centers during our travels. Russ Dean is by far the best in service, knowledge and friendliness. The quality of service has been consistent with each visit and/or call. We came in for a minor recall repair the first time and Blake in service actually came out and showed us what was repaired. Keep in mind, this was a recall repair, so no money was exchanged. He truly cared about the work that was done and us as customers. He even very patiently answered other questions we had. Since then, both my husband and I have called the parts department, and they too have completely exceeded our expectations. The parts guy (I wish I could remember his name) was extremely patient when I was asking about a part I needed and he went so far as to send me a picture of it! My husband had a tire blow out, which caused extensive damage. He couldn't bring it in for service, but the parts guy spent quite a bit of time with him over the phone, helping him order the right parts. The most recent unbelievably crazy high level of customer service we experienced was when we needed our fifth wheel winterized. My husband is deployed and wasn't able to bring it in for winterizing. He emailed the service dept and asked if they offered a mobile service or if they had someone they could recommend. Mike, the Customer Care Manager, said due to our special circumstance and in support of the military, they would come and take our giant 42' fifth wheel to their shop, winterize it, and return it! Who does that?! It's not like we live just down the road either. He explained that he's able to offer this service because it's not as busy in the winter months and they want to do whatever they can to support our military. Even the man who came out to take our fifth wheel, Joe, was extremely courteous and genuinely nice. Oh, and his driving skills in maneuvering our fifth wheel were beyond belief! It would make my husband green with envy. I have never experienced this level of service and generosity! I saw the few negative reviews on here, but I hope you'll notice that someone from Russ Dean responded to each one of them. There will always be some customers that are unhappy with something from every business, but not all businesses take the time to address it. As long as my husband and I continue to live in the area, Russ Dean Family RV will be the only place we will use for service, and when we're ready to trade in our fifth wheel, they will definitely get our business. We've never had such great personal service that went way above our expectations, from any dealership. read more

BEWARE this service department will give you an estimate but not in writing and then when you go to pick up your RV they add upcharges that you haven't been told about. They claim they call you on approval of upcharges but don't. They are condescending and customer service is horrible! Made rude comments about how I just didn't want to pay the bill. But I just didn't want to be ripped off. Will charge for services not even done. Don't do the courtesy inspection of your RV because that is how they add on extra charges. The emotional abuse that I was subjected to was unreal. I was basically called a liar. My concern is how many senior citizens have these guys ripped off??? Someone needs to investigate. Do yourself a favor and go to Broadmore RV. One note parts/accessory department was awesome. read more

Stopped by yesterday to have the roof on a car trailer re-sealed. Jeff & Jeremy, two of the former Russ Dean RV staff, took it same day and worked it in this week so it's ready when I need it. This dealership also kept one of the best techs in the region who has maintained and repaired my complicated custom motorcoach for years. Nice they take care of their staff. read more

We were just starting a long road trip when we realized that our refrigerator would not work on the LP gas mode. We called & they said they would try to work us in. We were greeted immediately by Jennifer. About an hour later a technician came to tell us what had been wrong ( something left unhooked by another RV service center) and that our RV was ready to go. The worst sales service I could imagine. Starts out well until contract is signed. Ryan was the worst in the finance department. He couldn't do much right. Pick up trailer and had to hook up myself, including finding a cotter pin for the tongue latch. Wait for paperwork to be sent so I can register in OR and get incorrect paperwork and copies.....OR DMV will not accept. Do not shop here. Would not recommend. read more

After 2 months of hard aggressive work Russ Dean has been able to repair the obsolete window shades in my RV. Rachel, the service adviser finally had to go to a local window shade dealer to get the problem fixed after numerous attempts failed dealing with the manufacturer of the RV. I personally can't even rate this one star. But this says we have to rate it before we submit our review so unfortunately even though there is one star I don't want to give them anything ! Our experience was horrendous we received a salesperson who did not know anything about the trailer and I called three days before that and made an appointment, so they knew we were coming she had no specs on the trailer she couldn't tell me how big the water tank was, after seeing the one that I was looking at online I wanted to see what else they had to offer pretty much had to drag that out of her. Decided we go back to the Minnie Winnie cuz we really liked it so we wanted to find out how much it was and what the payments were going to be, she told us one thing about our trade in and turned around and did another but we're gullible enough and to nice I guess to say a whole lot. A week later we came back to get it supposedly supposed to be clean got into the trailer to do the the checkout and it was filthy had not been cleaned, they acted like oh well you know what we'll do it. It was a rainy dark day of course with the covid-19 has they couldn't take us through the walk through the show us how anything worked whether it worked and at that time we didn't realize again how filthy it still was until we got home in the daylight in the sunlight and realize it had not been cleaned and the black tank was three-quarters full! So we called them the salesperson and told her the situation and she said well we'll have to clean it next week sometime you'll bring it in we live a hundred and eighty miles away my husband told them know we will come now and you will clean it because we were before all these other people so make time plus we told him we wanted to be compensated for our drive and the gas she told us that they would give us a 20 gallons of gas and then we'll see about the rest they never compensated us for anything except for the gas she didn't come back out to check to see that we were okay we didn't get a sewer hose with it they wouldn't even throw that in let alone a tire cover so beware and know what you want when you go into places like this which will never recommend ever camping world! They were selling so many RVs that week that they could have cared less about their people that went and spent thousands upon thousands of dollars you think that they'd be a little bit more generous but and considerate. My husband said that if we didn't have the written contract and we could take it back and tell them to shove it we would we're tired of people taking advantage of nice people the sparkler didn't work on the gas range there's something wrong with the bathroom pump there's something wrong with the bathroom toilet it's unbelievable and they don't care we still haven't even heard back from them after our incident they never came out to even ask us if everything was satisfactory we just left with our trailer and still haven't received any phone calls from them to check up on us! So beware not everybody is a nice person to sell you things. read more

Purchased a 2019 cougar fifth wheel from Campingword Pasco on April 2, 2019. Was told that it was a half ton rated weight.Signed all the papers went to pick it up they said it wouldn't work behind our camper rated half Ton Ford. As it turned out I had to drive 90 miles to have our Ford dealer email to the service manager at Campingword but in fact the pick up was rated for the load. They did deliver the fifth wheel to our home within the next couple of days. They went through a short walk through. There were some items that needed to be repaired so it was hauled back to Pasco from above Naches. The Camper remained with them for at least a week until we had a planned trip. We picked up the fifth wheel went on our trip to the beach. On the trip the Rearrack Almost fell off. Upon my inspection it was anchored to the frame by two on each side number 10 tec screws. In no way capable of hauling for 225 pounds that it is rated for. A few weeks later after creating a punch list that included everything from water leaking into the compartments from the tank to lights not working to the bathroom door being installed incorrectly .The bathroom door it would operate. They had the unit for a week and did no repairs. They said that they were waiting for approval from Keystone. Also the decorative frame around the slide over the dinette set fell off. Finally after some health issues that took about a year to me. I contacted their service department the only person that was helpful was Paul his manager had no concern in giving us any help whatsoever as our warranty was to be up in a few days. Even though we bought an 84 month extended warranty through them. They told me to go to the dealer in Yakima as I was at the point of not being very Happy! Don't I say don't ever purchase an RV from camping world in Pasco.!! read more

Our sales person, Jason was accommodating and seemed to try his best in being helpful before the sale was final.... But at the same rate, when I mention things needing to be addressed three times over on the trailer before taking possession, and no one takes care of it whatsoever, and I end up with it and having to address the issue on my own (broken door latch on main door leaving us locked out of the trailer in 20 degree weather in the middle of the night when we first got home with it).... And the over all sale of our trailer came with some pretty big balls dropped as far as inspecting and sending the trailer off defect free, which left us trying to get the mess figured out with our trailer having some major manufacturer defects right at possession (the vary night we got it home and continuing to current). After non-response from the service department in requesting a formal documentation for warranty purposes and handoff to a service department much closer to us (we are over three hours away from Pasco), for two weeks now, no response whatsoever from service person I was handed off to (no one has really been helpful), and the sales person being cc'ed on this correspondence regarding our issues. I am forced to write this review at a 2 star due to this complete un-helpfulness of Camping World of Pasco post sale. I will also add that the finance guy, Ryan is pretty sleazy. So beware. Sure we come to expect that these days when buying vehicles etc.. But outright lying is never the expectation and I am surprised Camping World encourages this kind of tact in the sales department. They always try to up-sell you on things like extended warranties, right? Sure, so we bought into it figuring it would be nice to just not have to worry, no big deal... Well, the way it was presented was that this extended warranty, and the gap insurance he was touting were a combined added set of features and he very cleverly only focussed on the cost of the extended warranty and only gave us that cost, omitting that the Gap insurance would actually add many thousands more to the final cost and literally presenting it as if the warranty price was for both. He skipped right over that when pointing out all the costs on the paper work. He also claimed he would give a "second year of Good Sam Travel assistance at no charge", but at the end of the day when we were able to sit down and figure all of this out in the paper work, he had actually charged us Good Sam Road Care. Made us feel like were were completely had by a sleazy used car salesman, except one shouldn't expect this kind of experience when dropping the kind of money it takes to buy a brand new fifth wheel. We were left with an overall impression of shady dealing, from the way they gently encouraged us over to a trailer with a ton of blatant defects all through-out it, versus the one were originally interested in, to the fine details purposely omitted in the sales deal. Maybe not, but with how non-responsive/caring post sale they have been and how many issues this trailer has had, we feel like the old bait and switch was pulled on us. Definitely some lessons learned on our part, but sad and surprising that in this day and age with the power of online reviews and social media influencers (of which at any time someone could be a major social influencer, managing multiple pages, having a career in it with large audiences and groups and media venues who could walk through their doors to make a purchase at any moment) that this kind of predatory customer treatment is still in practice and acceptable to them as an outdated form of sales culture. The customer isn't always right, but neither is trickery and deception to off a terrible trailer on to a vulnerable customer. In our case they knew our situation and knew we were pressed to go home with a trailer that day to live in as our home purchase had fallen through. We are left feeling that they preyed upon our circumstances and the nature of our sale. We have learned from this experience, and for one thing, I can't say I will ever use this company again to purchase an RV. read more

Deplorable Customer Service. Bought a trailer at Russ Dean Family RV Center. The entire process was fraught with horrible customer service, questionable service completion, potential sever safety issues and needless wasting of my time. 1) They agreed, on paper, to "repack the bearings." What I expected was: Disassemble the hub assembly, inspect for damage, place the bearing in a grease packer and reassemble with proper adjustment. What I got was: Three torn dust/water covers and no visible signs of fresh grease. (If you're not mechanical, the dust/water covers prevent premature bearing failure as a result of water or dust entering the bearing assembly. A failed bearing may lead to the entire wheel breaking away from the trailer while at speed.) Additionally, all four wheels were loose enough to wobble side to side with my bare hands. (this can cause the tires to track out of alignment, build excessive head and may lead to a tire blow-out.) I have a strong suspicion that they did not touch the trailer at all in the entire five days. Given the associated safety risks and the loss of my trust in them I decided to complete this job myself rather than experience any more service like...see #2 below. 2) They promised the trailer later the same day of purchase...which became the next day by the time negotiations were over. Several calls to the sales person on day 2 and 3 went without a return call. Finally, I was told that he was out of town and that I should have called the service center - regardless that the receptionist said to follow-up with the sales person. Two additional days of phone tag with the guy in service and I was told, on day 4, I could come pick it up the following day, day 5, and they would wash it for me. I said I would be there at 12pm on day 5. I called at 10:30 am on day 5 to double check and to reconfirm I would be there at 12pm. I arrived at 1pm. The front counter guy said he'd have it brought around. 15 minutes later a guy brings it out from one of their remote lots. He tows the trailer around behind the service center. So I follow in my vehicle thinking they had a specific place they disconnect/connect trailers. Nope. He parked it where some service guys were washing another trailer. The guy spent 20 minutes half-heartedly washing it and another 10 minutes inside the service center. All the while it was hooked to their fork lift. About an hour of total time wasted, I'm finally leaving with my trailer. 3) Over the first 45 days I kept thinking to myself that the permanent license plate would arrive in the mail any day, as I've experienced with other auto dealers. About four days after it expired I happened to notice it. I called Russ Dean and the lady said the plate has been there for "a few weeks." Apparently, the sales guy was suppose to call me. I asked why they didn't mail it? She said they never do for in-town trailers. So...with a gallon of my gas and an hour of my time I had the plate in hand. Apparently, a dollar of postage is more important to them than an hour of customer's time. The pros; they give you free bottled water. However, the water doesn't "lube" the experience very well. read more

My wife and I have been negotiating for the purchase of a Recreation Vehicle (RV) from Russ Dean Family RV. We were treated with respect by the sales staff and they worked with us to facilitate our decision. Once the decision was made, we were asked by business management to sign to a bill of sale. They also asked that we provided a personal check for the purchase price of the RV. We provided that once we were given assurances that the check would not be deposited until we provided direction to send the check through. The business manager agreed and said this was standard procedure and they would hold the check for a day, a week or a month, whatever we required. He was briefed on the fact that the funds were not in our checking account at the current time and would not be until financing could be arranged. That conversation occurred on Saturday, July 29, 2017. Russ Dean Family RV evidently deposited the check on the first business after the weekend, Monday, July 31, 2017. On August 1, 2017 the check was rejected by my credit union because of insufficient funds. I received notification that my credit union had rejected my check via the home mail delivery Saturday afternoon August 5, 2017. The process of arranging financing required my wife's signature. She was out of town for the entire week of July 31, 2017. We were unable to complete the loan arrangements until she returned. She returned Friday evening August 4, 2017. We completed the financing Saturday morning, August 5, 2017. We then went to Russ Dean Family RV to pay for the RV. Our payment was accepted and we set up the walk thru for August 8, 2017. My check of July 29, 2017 was not returned at that time so I then asked for the check. I was informed that the check could not be found. After considerable intense discussion, I was informed that it had been deposited. At this point Russ Dean Family RV had checks amounting to twice the purchase price of the RV. I asked for the return of the checks I provided on August 5, 2017. They were returned at that time. At this point I did not know the physical location the first check was but I suspected it must have been rejected by my credit union for insufficient funds. The credit union informed me by mail that it had rejected the check. The purchase is now on hold until Russ Dean Family RV can return the rejected check to me. What have I learned from this experience? First, I was told by my credit union that the amount of money to hold the RV is negotiable. Second, question the demand to provide a check for the purchase price. Third, it was easier for Russ Dean Family RV to ask forgiveness for submitting the check even though they had promised to hold the check until I could provide financing. Fourth, the apologies seem to come quickly when errors like this are made. Fifth, get all the details of a purchase in writing before you leave the negotiation. This means get even the smallest details in writing. read more

I am extremely dissatisfied with this camping world dealership it has been 4 months since bought a new 40' cougar fifth wheel was told at time of purchase that gap insurance could be canceled if found I did not needed. on checking with my insurance agent found I did not need on Nov. 9th signed papers to have it canceled in Jan while doing my taxes found the had charged me sales tax that they shouldn't have was called and talked to general he promised to call me by next afternoon after I waited for 3 days and no call . Again called the manager he agreed the tax was an error. He promised to refund but would have to send to my lender there was someone working on my gap insurance problem. After a month called them again was told by Crystal refund had been sent but they would cancel and send new check. After two weeks no sign my lender received emailed them got replied from internet sales person to call her she talked to Crystal I have gotten no real service from this group. They bought this dealership but seem to have no working organization and no customer service skills At one point in early February had to request that I not have pay penalty on Oregon new vehicle tax that they had included in the sale but failed to remit to state. That issue had held up my obtaining registration. read more

We took our RV into Russ Dean on a Tuesday and were told they would have a report the next day on what was needed for repairs. The following Monday we had to call them to find out the air conditioner was broken and need to be replaced. They had just looked at it that morning. We had already told them the AC was not working. The vehicle is less than one year old and still under warranty. We were told it would take 3 weeks to get permission from the air conditioning manufacturer to replace the unit. They would not be able to order a new AC unit until they got the okay from the factory. They would then order the unit and install it. They would not give me a time frame on how long it was going to take once they ordered the unit and have it installed but said it could be up to 4 weeks. Russ Dean has been bought out by a company called Camping World which has very poor ratings across the country. We are very disappointed with the service that we have received from Russ Dean the minute we bought the RV from them. Every time we have taken the vehicle in we have had to call numerous times to get time estimates and to find out if the work was done. We have no intention to ever take this back to Russ Dean for any kind of work. read more

I brought my Evergreen travel trailer into Russ Dean for some warranty repairs in fall of 2015. The biggest issue was that the rear slide would not extend completely; the mechanism would start to chatter on one of the rails. I had already researched the problem and found the solution. The mechanism is a Lippert Schwintek. The problem was that the upper forward column was set too far from the slide rail by a half inch. Lippert sent me a diagram of how to measure this, which I forwarded to Russ Dean. Russ Dean did the repair, or so I thought, and I took the trailer out on an extended trip this summer. The slide failed again. Out of warranty (and Evergreen is out of business anyway) I looked into it myself. The problem turned out to be that the factory did not cut the opening for the slide square; it was a full 1/2 inch too wide at the top where the mechanism was failing. Russ Dean only BandAided a fix to make it work again for a short period of time. I ended up having to fabricate a filler since there was nothing to screw the column to. The job took 3 days, but now it's done right and all dimensions are within spec. read more
