Our experience with CW was not so good. My wife and I looked at a Roadtrek Zion 2018 class B coach. The salesman was friendly but knew little about the coach. We decided to buy the Zion and were going to pay cash but were told we had to finance it to get the $3,000 rebate. But with a wink and nod we were told by salesman and finance person that make a big down payment and pay it off after a couple of payments. Still we have to pay the interest for the the time we owe the bank. So we put 60% down and will pay it off next month after 2 payments. Then we were assured that the 6 year warranty by Roadtrek was 100% transferable. Also Dodge's 5 year warranty was transferable. After we closed the deal we learned the Roadtrek Co. had filed for bankruptcy last February. We learned this when I called another RV dealer to ask him a question about the Zion. The FIRST thing he said was "you know this company went out of business" ? You would think CW would have told us this little fact. Nobody mentioned it as they kept telling us the warranty was still good for another 5 years. This was not true. At least Dodge warranty was good. When we called and complained about their lack of disclosure, we got a run around and a promise to call us with some type of deal. Still waiting for call 3 weeks later and we live in Meridian. Did get an e-mail from CW Hdqs. asking if we had been contacted. I told them not yet. We would have probably still bought the Zion but we were very upset they were not upfront about Roadtrek going out of business and telling us that the Zion coach was still under warranty.. I doubt we will do much more business with CW. read more

Stopped in to kill an hour before meeting some friends for lunch while visiting the Boise area. Asked to see the same model of class c we were looking at in Reno. Discovered the price was $5000 less and they would give us $2400 more for our trade! They sent Juan 470 miles to Northern Nevada for our trailer. Had a wonderful evening. The next day I rode back up with Juan and it couldn't have been a nicer trip. He took me to my hotel, picked me up the next morning to go to the bank and then to get my new RV. I have to say that Juan was more than helpful and made the whole experience great. read more

We took our 5th wheel in to Camping World for repairs on September 1, 2021 for repairs on a slide that wasn't working properly. It was covered with an extended warranty . It is now January 16, 2022 and there has been nothing done on our trailer (over 4 1/2 months). We were told the work had been done. We went in yesterday ...nothing done but they had damaged our trailer by running into it with another trailer. Now they have to replace the whole back of our trailer. This is a nightmare.... been told so many things only to find out it wasn't true....NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE, EXCEPT THEIR DAMAGE to our rig. Now they tell us that we need a new roof!!! Don't know why they were even on the roof to begin with. I have been in contact with an attorney. We usually go South in winter and North in summer.. not this year!! I do not recommend taking anything to Camping World....terrible service!!!! Terrible communication!!! and now we have a damaged trailer.. read more

Went here to purchase our first trailer. Called ahead to find out how lengthy the process was because we live 3 hours away. The salesman told us if our credit was good it would be an in and out process. We drove over, picked a trailer, added some accessories and agreed to the purchase price. The salesman came back from the finance office and told us it was too late on a Friday night, that the banks weren't open and we couldn't buy until the next Tuesday. (This was Friday night of Labor Day Weekend, and we were looking really forward to using the trailer that weekend.) Now I can't hold the banks being closed against the dealership, not their fault. The salesman then told us to leave a deposit and they would get the trailer into the shop and get it cleaned, prepped and the propane tanks full so all we had to do was show up Tuesday at 9AM when they opened, sign the papers and be on our way. They did agree to pay our fuel for all the back and forth, so that was nice. We left our deposit and left empty handed. We called the salesman on Monday afternoon with a couple of questions, he answered them and we said see you tomorrow morning! We showed up at the dealership about 10 minutes before they opened on Tuesday. They opened up, we went in and made a quick pit stop on the parts side of the store with a couple questions about a generator. Finished up there and went looking for our salesman about 9:10. We couldn't find him anywhere. Went and asked the receptionist where he was, she attempted to locate him. We went outside to discover that the trailer we wanted hadn't been moved or touched, it only had a sold sticker with our name on it. Went back to the receptionist and asked to speak to a manager. He was in a meeting and came out shortly to speak to us, this was about 9:40. We told him what was going on, that I was thinking about taking my deposit and leaving, he assured me that he would look into it right away and get it fixed. So the salesman finally showed up at almost 10, didn't come apologize for being late or anything. He just came and told us they were getting the paperwork together and the trailer into the shop. Manager finally came back and told us they were going to take an additional $2,000 off the purchase price to make up for this huge mistake. He ensured us that the trailer was getting prepped and we should be into the finance office shortly to sign the papers. We had to wait until almost 12 to get into finance to sign the papers, it started off good, the guy was pretty friendly and telling jokes. We were going about business and got to all the extended protection stuff, I wasn't interested and told him no. He didn't take no very well, became super pushy and the down right rude. I was highly unimpressed, I almost got up and walked away from the whole deal. Fished the paperwork and began waiting for the trailer, was assured it should be ready in about 30 minutes. It took almost an hour. They finally got the trailer finished and parked. A technician took us through the trailer, showed us how to work things and set up the hitch on our pickup. The salesman finally brought me cash to reimburse me for gas, he had became rude and down right arrogant. we didn't leave the dealership until 2:30 in the afternoon. I am only giving a 2 star review because the manger made an attempt to fix the problem the best he could. read more

Worst buying experience of my life, they cheated, and defrauded me in the following ways A)The sales / loan/ warranty agent committed several types of Fraud including: 1) Writing down the wrong and a lower mileage on a state form 2) Trying to sell me an over priced warranty plan 3) Insisting that I use their financing to get the price we had already agreed upon in writing as a cash deal B) the sales person clearly stated as did the ad that certain features were included even though they were found to be missing: 1) first aid emergency kit was Missing even though the sales person stated that there was one 2 there was no gps or SIM card even though the sales person stated and thread stated that there was one 3) The jack for tires was the wrong size 4) there was no fuel in the rv- not even enough to get 10 miles down the road to the next gas station 5) they only gave me one set of keys. 6) the DEF fluid was empty 7) the new rv was not clean and had a large scratch on its side I received no return calls From the salesperson nor-the manager. After registering on Marcus Lemoni,s we care about our customers help line corporate camping world just forwarded the complaints back to meridian camping world who left a message saying they CALLED. Other camping worlds will it rectify or honor warranty items as they state that I need to go back to the original franchised seller which is meridian camping world. I honestly believe that this entire franchise of CW should be criminally investigated and pursued for committing fraud. I strongly recommend that NO ONE ever steps foot in Camping World of Meridian. BUYER BEWARE, the Service Department has extremely poor customer service. After buying air bags for our vehicle, we were informed that it would be a 3hr job. Made an appointment for installation, 10am, the Service Advisor, William, then told us they would need additional labor time, that brought it up to 5.5hrs. After 3hrs into it, called to see how things were going, I was told that the wrong parts were ordered and they were waiting on parts to arrive. Once the parts arrived the technician Tony, would start working on it again. I called back after 6hrs of waiting, was told then the truck was ready for pick up. We got half way there and I received a call back stating that our truck wasn't ready after all. When we stop at the Parts counter, I mentioned to the gentleman who did the ordering, told him what we were told, and he said that wasn't true, he ordered the correct part, and he had done some research and found out that the installation is different and informed the service department of the correct position where those bags needed to go and what they needed to do. We then went to the Service department and was told that the technician was working as fast as he could and our truck wouldn't be ready until 8pm. Wow....9hrs, instead of the original 3hrs that was quoted! I told him, I refused to be charged any more labor time. William was going into how much work it was, everything the technician was going through, yada..yada..yada. I informed him I wanted our truck tonight and that we should be compensated for them having our truck all day, our time and us being told one thing and then being told something else. The Service Advisor, has no customer service skills, smug acting, and rude. He would not give us any compensation what so ever for our frustration, time or lies we were told. We will NEVER go back to them. I wished we had read these reviews before dropping our vehicle off to them. We are concerned about the quality of the installation of these air bags now. I would give them a negative star rating, if I could. Hands down the WORST experience. We drove 5 hours to pick up an RV that we put $ on so they would hold it. When we got there, they asked us to come back so they could fix it. No, we can't, we just drove 5 hours to get here. It took hours for them to "fix" most things, but the toilet was still broken. They were going to ship us the part so we could get back on the road. On our walk through I asked why there was only one battery when there was a spot for two. They said they are only required to give us one battery. On our first trip, I'm driving down the road and the RV is SMOKING! We pull over and the guys in the shop had zip tied the positive and negative connectors to the FRAME because they were too cheap to give me a second battery. What did Camping world do after 15 calls and speaking to two managers?? NOTHING! They wanted me to take the RV back (another 10 hour round trip drive) to prove they did it, and I didn't. Why the hell would I zip tie the battery connectors to the frame? On top of them dodging my calls, we finally got the bathroom cassette 3 months later... and it doesn't fit! Ran to Meridian Camping World for a few items. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a female or because I wasn't purchasing a camper from them, but nobody was willing to help me find what was on my list. My stepdad sent me with a list of things my new camper needed and I could only find one thing on the list. While I walked up and down their aisles multiple times, in obvious need of help, their employees stood around with their thumbs up their a**es not doing anything to help. I called my dad and told him we'd be going somewhere else. I tossed the shit I had back on the shelf and left. While I was shopping, and elderly lady asked an employee where she could find weather stripping and the guy leaning against the counter only said "Lowes" and went back to his conversation with his coworker. Unfortunately, these issues are not limited to JUST this location. Apparently this is their customer service standard nationwide. For some reason, I thought our location would be better. Go somewhere else. Save yourself some time and frustration. To management: no need to reply. Nothing you say will bring me back to your store. Good riddance. read more

I went to the big " end of " season" rv show at the fairgrounds knowing exactly wanting what I want. I asked For several items. A newer model or no , lower miles, A Murphy bed that pulls out from couch ( it doesn't necessarily need a bedroom) a u shaped dining area a rear bathroom and a price of not more than 60,000.i also told the salesman 1. I sold my home 2. My home was in escrow 3. I would be living in my rv dry camping and staying at diff parks, just to name a few. This salesman should have believed that I was very serious about my wanting a motor home instead of walking around telling my you can't afford, this, you can't afford, that ,too much money, he did show me a 2012 with 18,000 miles on it but at 75,000 it's at least 15,000 overpriced. He didn't even get my name or phone number. I was shocked. I will be on my first trip to quartz site in Jan and expect my rv by then. He should have been doing his best to find something within my reach even if it meant coming to the camping world showroom. One other thing. I've learned so much about motor homes I could of sold them just by taking a little personal interest in a personal side of a person. I could have taken a couple in a motor home showed them every feature torn everything apart to show how to make a dinette or sofa a bed let them try them out, showed them storage under bedrm bed had them lay on bed and I would have made sales. Your salesmen sat under a tent sitting in chairs with no care in the world, I could have had a nice down Pmt on my rv. Hands down, best Camping World in the USA. Great prices, service and models. They had everything I needed and were extremely knowledgeable, I mean they really know what they are doing. I have been to other Camping Worlds and have yet to meet a group that knows as much as the Camping World of Caldwell does. Frank was my salesman and to this day he helps me whenever I call. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and find another place to service your RV. There are a lot of other places in the Boise area who provide RV Service and Repair. Camping World of Boise in Meridian has the poorest customer service imaginable. Charlie, in the service department, was rude, insulting and inconsiderate from beginning to end. He did his level best to intimidate us and during a phone conversation when we asked to speak to his manager he hung up on us. We are older and retired and have never been treated so poorly. Unbelievably, it took over 2 months (not kidding) to complete warranty work on a new fifth wheel we bought from them less than 4 months prior. We happened upon an executive of Camping World from Illinois and asked him to help us get our fifth wheel repaired and returned back to us. June 20, 2017 to September 1, 2017 without our new fifth wheel. Inexcusable. read more

We went looked at a truck camper Friday picked the one we wanted filled out paperwork put deposit down left happy said they call Monday when all the paperwork was done .. Monday comes no call Tuesday I start calling nobady can tell me anything then Wednesday finally got told loan went through but couldn't tell me payments interest nothing finally Thursday say screw it drive three hours to sign paperwork still not knowing anything mind you we are trying to leave town so we gotta get this done!! Get there and it's not even the trailer we looked at.. my husband had taken pictures thank God because they basically called him a lier saying the trailer was never on their lot !! Oh My Goodness, What a waist of time. Over the past 2 weeks I have been to Camping World in search of an RV. I thought I found the perfect one after viewing it and speaking to Brian I was told the price was $41,200 because as he stated he was looking for it for 3 weeks and couldn't find it and although the internet price was $59.000 the price was now $41,200. well looking it over I stated to my wife I might offer $35k he stated under his breath that could be doable. So I went to my bank got pre approved for the loan then went there on Black friday for there supposed sale. I took a friend who is a mechanic and actually worked for winnebago building them for many years. Brian is on vacation so I went up to a salesman and asked him if he wanted to make a sale today, of course he stated he did. When I said which RV I wanted, which is the 2008 Itasca Sunova He stated well that guy's going to be pissed! I asked what he meant he stated I just got off the phone with a guy that's been looking at it for the past 3 weeks and wants to buy it. I said too bad for him I'm here and he's not. We went to the RV. (BTW he didn't bother to dry the back seat of the cart for my wife and mechanic) He immediately went inside while my mechanic checked things out, and after about 20 min. he finally came out to see what we were doing (inspecting the RV obviously) at that point we found a fraid power line, a leak in 1 outside cabinet (salesman stated was due to the bad rains lately, gee wonder how bad road rain would be.) also at this point the salesman stated that the price was now $49,000 because of the sale when i asked what happened to the $41,200 price he said here did you get that from I stated Brian gave me that price. He then threw up several numbers finally coming up the the price of $41,299 I then asked him about a warranty as there were several issue's especially the power cable and the tire's being about to expire as there dated 03/13 which means that in 4 months they would need to be changed, he said well we offer a 1 day warranty on used rv's but we check them out before you get them, we also found the AC and Heat not working when my mechanic asked if they would see what the problem was (salesman) stated that would cost $999.00 for the inspection and they'd make sure everything was working prior to delivery. I asked him why on earth would I pay you an additional $999.00 on top of the price he stated that's how we do things here. My mechanic asked what if the lines are cracked if winterizing hadn't been done. salesman said please don't tell me how to do my job, I stated hay here's here to help me as a friend and I don't appreciate you disrespecting him. at this point my wife stated were done let's go. I told the salesman too bad for you I am pre approved you just lost a sale. he stood in the rv i'm guessing stunned while we walked back to the office. I went to the rest room and went I came back my wife was talking to his superior and stated they would try to work this out. He brought back the son of the owner who although acted as if he cared ( superficially) said he would bring out the RV for us to test drive I said ok let;s see what you can do. While the RV was driving up to us I stated the issue I had with the tire's electrical power plug and other things ad well as the inspection fee, He stated although would would go through the rv ( a what I don't know) to set up for delivery an actual inspection is $999. and the RV price is $490,000 AS IS. we left. as should all. read more

We're thrilled with the great service we got from Mindy when we asked Camping World to sell our fifth wheel trailer on consignment. We wanted it sold quickly and they sold it in less than three weeks! Mindy couldn't have been more helpful and thorough. She went out of her way to answer all our questions. And if she's not in her office, she gets right back to you. This is great customer service. If you want to sell your recreation vehicle or trailer, you'll get a lot more money selling it on consignment than you will with a trade in, and Camping World will do all the work of showing it and selling it. Would not recommend Camping World - Meridian. Take a look at the Better Business Bureau site. They have nearly 800 complaints. We did have a good experience with the Sales Department, however, the Service Department is frustrating at best. When a unit is scheduled for a service appointment, it doesn't mean that they have any parts required for service or even will have the time to look at it. After drop off, they will eventually look at it, and then, order parts or get warranty approval. In our experience, on three separate occasions during the past year, our unit has sat on the CW lot for over a month. Two times, our unit has been damaged by CW while sitting on the lot. The Service Manager is impossible to deal with and is unwilling to help facilitate repairs. We are always told that they can't give us a estimate of completion date, and we are welcome to pick it up whenever we want. There is always an excuse -- ordered the wrong metal, part, etc. We will not be doing business with Camping World in the future. read more

Terrible. If I knew it was going to be such a nightmare to take our trailer in for service/repair at this place we would've never purchased from them. Every single time we have to bring it in, they take at least twice as long as they tell you they're going to to get it done. And you have to pray nothing goes wrong with your trailer during the summertime, or they will have it for two months. We wanted to fix a couple of cosmetic things last summer and they had our trailer for over a month (it sat outside on a deserted lot for most of that time). They never return phone calls. Communication is really bad. My trailer is sitting there right now actually and I have absolutely no clue when I should expect it to be ready. I would definitely shop somewhere else. read more

READ THE FINE PRINT! Ad for the motorhome said it came with 32 inch plasma tv, gas bbq, coffee pot and the hot water heater was gas/electic. None of this was in the motorhome when we arrived. Sales manager said he didn't want to hide behind legal fine print but the ad did say that the options listed were not necessarily accurate. Then he hid behind the fine print; he was not willig to make good on any of this. We traveled from Olympia WA to Idaho on the word of this dealership in order to buy this motorhome. We came in looking for a specific trailer that we found on the site but yet the trailer color and trailer were in a different state! The salesperson assisting was great! He listened to what our wants and needs were. We did go in and crunch numbers on one trailer. When all was said and done it didn't come with electric stabalizers nor did it come with batteries. Those 2 items there raised the trailers sales price to well over 32,000.00. In the end do NOT be afraid to walk away if it isn't what you really want. We have been researching endlessly online through all the travel trailers, we have even built a few online and gotten quotes. Through it all it will in the end be cheaper to drive to the Midwest over 1000 miles aways to save well over $10,000.00. read more

While traveling through Idaho with our fifth wheel, the brakes failed and we were forced to stop for repairs. At first the rep here told us they were a week out on repairs and no one else in town could help. I managed to grab someone else who was very helpful and nice...Claudio. for 200 dollars they would move us to the front of the line, 800 dollars later, we paid for clips and magnets which cost 20 dollars apiece to purchase ourselves. We did not have that option, and paid instead 80 dollars apiece, plus labor,plus the 200 to start the work. Claudio was helpful, but we feel we had no choice and they knew it. read more

I have had the worst experiences there at every level. I had my 76 airstream winterized. We were charged and told they couldn't do it. I attempted to purchase a new RV there, they didn't even bother to call me back after visiting. I tried to purchase a grill that could hook up to my camper (that I purchased from a place that did return my call). I couldn't get anyone to help me. I decided to give them another chance. Today I called to ask if they could do warranty work. The lady, who was initially nice, got really short with me when I told her it was under warranty at another place. She immediately stopped and very rudely stated no, and if they could I can't get an appointment for three to four months. I called Bretz and the man who answered was very nice and offered to have someone call me on Monday. I am done with Camping World. read more

Our experience with the service here was so extensively terrible, it's hard to get it all down. Suffice to say, between the service taking so much longer than they quoted us that it delayed our camping trip, and finding out AFTER our blow out on the freeway that all of our new tires had been mis-installed, and THEN finding out that they had OUTSOURCED our RV work to ANOTHER tire shop in Boise and charged us retail Camping World prices... we will not be returning. Worst customer service ever. Bought a brand new class c motor home and had some quality issues. Toilet seat hinge broke on our first trip. 5 weeks to get a new toilet seat from manufacturer. Outrageous. Went to take a shower but no one told us we did not have electronic start for water heater. Trip with no shower, cause we thought it was broken?! Probably would have used propane if we knew, we had a 50 minute walk thru that they told us to plan on 2 hours minimum, when we purchased. Had to pick up unit for a trip and will have to bring back end of September when our toilet seat arrives from Timbuktu I guess( 5 weeks). read more

We bought a rhino sewer hose and it broke when we tried to put it on our RV. I took it to the CW in Meridian to exchange it. I waited in line for 10 minutes only to have the cashier tell me I couldn't exchange it. When I questioned this she told me I would have to talk to the manager. I then waited another 10 minutes in line to talk to the manager. He said no problem -- so I went and got the replacement and went back to the cashier to do the exchange. We just bought our 2016 coleman lantern travel trailer this week and had a great experience with Camping World. Their sale price on the style camper we wanted was the best price in town. We have not had any transactions with the service department yet... hopefully that will go just as smoothly as the rest when we do! My husband and I went 'browsing' for a new travel trailer at Bish's and Camping World in July 2018. We did not like the vibe at Bish's: it was more like pushy sales tactics. Ryan at CW spent a lot of time showing us all the trailers we wanted without making us feel rushed. He gave us his honest opinion about the different units until we settled on a Keystone Cougar and committed to try to make a deal. Ryan was able to find us the color scheme we preferred and had it brought over from another state. The 'deal' process was fairly painless and did include some back-and-forth with Ryan to management, but they came up to the deal we wanted and were true to their word. When we came back to sign papers and pick up the trailer, they do this whole production where you get a nametag/lanyard and they announce your names over the PA, and you meet with different representatives including the manager of the service department who took us through our trailer and showed us everything we needed to know. I'll admit I was wary of buying from CW after reading some negative reviews, but I am pleased with my experience and felt we were treated with value. They also let me ring the gong! read more

Camping World of Boise was the nearest dealer that had the RV I was looking for in stock. The buying process was fine - not exceptional but nothing to complain about. During the walk through I found several minor issues, including a small tear in the awning material. I was assured that the issues could be taken care of at a Camping World location closer to my home. BEWARE! As soon as they have your money they're done with you. I was told by my local Camping World that the Meridian store needed to authorize the awning repair since it is not a warranty repair. Six weeks of leaving numerous messages for several people in Meridian (including the General Manager) and still no call back. I called Camping World's corporate customer service number which finally resulted in a call back. I was told that they would straighten things out with my local Camping World and get back to me. I did get a call back several days later and was told that he couldn't reach anyone at my local CW. He suggested that he would just put repair tape on the awning! I purchased a brand new trailer and do not find that "taping up" the awning on it is acceptable. I finally had to resort to emailing Forest River to try to get things resolved. I received a call from Camping World's region service manager the day after emailing Forest River. He has ensured that the parts have been ordered. Two weeks after communicating with the region service manager I finally received a call from the Service Manager in Meridian to see if he could do anything to help. Too little, too late. Once the awning is replaced I do not intend to do any business with any Camping World location, including online parts/accessories. Any corporation that allows such terrible service to continue (look at the other reviews - there's obviously a problem) does not deserve my business. read more
