The salesman were all over me when I went in to purchase an RV, but the follow up customer service has been terrible! 1. They specifically told me the all electric camper I purchased would run the refrigerator on the battery. They had me purchase two batteries to ensure a longer run time. The batteries actually only power the lights and the water pump. Finding a way to run the other appliances has been expensive. 2. I was talked into an extended warranty, which is on me. When I called and left messages about wanting to cancel the warranty, on voicemail and with employees, I never received a return call. I called 5 times before I finally went in. I had a signed, dated letter with all of the RV information and purchase information, along with the written request to cancel. When I arrived and asked for assistance, I was told no one was available to help me. I told them I'd wait, and after about half an hour, I was directed to the finance office. The gentleman who helped me was great. He made copies of my letter, filled out the request to cancel and sent me on my way. Said it'd take between 6 and 8 weeks to see the refund. That was 3 months ago! 3. Last week I called to follow up on the cancellation, no response. Called again, no response. Three days later sent an email, no response. Two days after that, sent another email. received a response stating" I'll look into it." 5 days later, nothing. sent another email stating the warranty had been cancelled and the funds were sent to my bank. Called the bank, nothing. Emailed back saying they hadn't received anything. Repmse was he'd call the cancellations department and see if it was cancelled...what? You just told me it had been. I figured out the name of the company who handles their extended warranties and called them. They were able to tell me it was cancelled 6 days ago! Not only is the customer service terrible, they are deceitful liars! BEWARE! You will be told whatever you want to hear so you purchase an RV, and will not hear back from the after. read more

We ordered an RV washer/dryer combo the week before Memorial Day. We were told it would arrive on Memorial Day. Didn't receive a call so I called late in the day. We were told that the unit had arrived however it was still on the truck and I would receive a call as soon as it was unloaded. I called the following day and was informed it was still on the truck due to staffing. Called back on Wednesday, was told they had forklift issues. Finally received a call late Friday and was told we could come pick it up. Couldn't pick it up that next day (Saturday) due to having a full schedule so we arrived at 9:00 AM Sunday to pick it up (80 mile round trip). We were then told they had put it back up on the storage bin due to the lack of floor space. Additionally we were told they had called a few times to come pick it up, we only received one call on the preceeding Friday. Made arrangements to pick it up the next day (Monday). Arrived Monday afternoon and picked up the box. Noted it was damaged and notified the forklift driver but took it home anyway. When I arrived home I unboxed the unit and found major damage to the front corner to the point of the door wouldn't even shut. Took pictures and called Camping World. Retail sales took the call, promised I'd get a call back ASAP. Put the box back on the unit and waited for a return call. The call didn't come that night. Took the unit back to Camping World the next morning to return the washer/dryer. Was told they would be happy to order a replacement and I told them I couldn't wait another two weeks for a replacement. I requested a refund and after the parts person talked to the manager I did receive a full refund but I will never darken their doors again. Bait and switch is alive and well at Camping World. In a "Celebrate Freedom" sales circular mailed out for the 4th of July, Camping World advertised a 3500-pound electric trailer tongue jack for $100, what the ad says was a $90 savings. It was listed as an in-store-only "Hot Buy." When I got to the store in Meridian, there not only wasn't any of those jacks, there wasn't even a place on the shelf for it. When I went to the front desk to inquire, a salesman said they didn't have any there, at the Caldwell store or at the company warehouse. "But there's 40 at a store in Ohio," he told me. And flipped around his computer screen to show me all the stores that had that jack, none of them within hundreds of miles of Meridian. He told me if I had one shipped from one of those stores, the shipping cost would outweigh the bargain price. They wouldn't even ship it free! I told him it was misleading to send me a sales circular listing an item for sale and not even having it available to sell. And, again, they hadn't sold out; it was never available at that store. The salesman didn't even offer a discount on any of the jacks they did have in stock. He just told me he didn't have anything to do with the circular. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM ANY CAMPING WORLD. Worst experience we have ever had. They don't care about you. They take your money and after that anything that goes wrong is your problem. You will get transferred around person to person until you give up. We paid thousands for a warranty, had 2 blowouts in the first month and they will not cover it. Along with a huge list of other things wrong and they want to charge hundreds of dollars just to come out and look at it. Plus copays. Tried talking to the GM at Meridian and he doesn't care. WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE. My grandparents saw an RV they liked and were pressured to put down a "risk free, refundable" deposit for an RV they were looking at. When they decided not to get it, that $500 deposit was never refunded. Multiple family members spoke to them daily for about 2 MONTHS and would either get completely ignored or some excuse was made. They ended up getting their money back but ONLY after they went to their bank and explained the situation. This place didn't even refund them their money. I don't recommend it at all. My family and I had the worst experience there. They asked for a no risk deposit of $500 to hold an RV until my parents could decide if they wanted it or not. They decided to not buy it and they never return the $500 to them. We called many times, left messages, talked to Jeremy who is the finance manager and to the general manager, and nothing was done. They always had an excuse to not give us the money. After over 2 months of calls and going back and forth, we decided to go to our bank to file a dispute and they resolved the next day. I've read other reviews about this happening to other people. I wish I had seen them before we went to their store. read more

The good The selection. Lots of good stuff here. The meh... Staff must hate working here - on my most recent, I was greeted by a literal under-their-breath, 'hello', without eye contact or slow down in the other work they were doing at one counter. I had to actually stare at them while they muttered to understand that they were interacting with me. I thought maybe they were on a headset because they never looked up. At the other counter, I stood several minutes at the counter where I've paid for items in the past, and finally the guy at the far end interrupted his co-worker convo long enough to say dryly, "Can I help you?". I returned the attitude and tone of voice. The bad I've Internet-checked some prices on in-stock items and found them competitive in the past. The item I needed was seven, yes 7, times as expensive at CW than online. I decided to pass on it. Nothing much great about this experience, which is too bad. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased! During one of their events in the Meridian, Idaho store, they had 4 units made by Palomino. Two of them had FULL solar setup (ALL Electric) and 2 without. I experienced issues right away and had it back in a couple times trying to correct, no luck. This kind of solar is new enough in the RV industry that their technicians don't (or didn't) know squat about them. I was schooling them on Solar systems. While I had it at home I found a couple cracks in the skylight that had been leaking for a while. Water had found its way down to the floor on the opposite side where it caused some damage. Returned the unit to Camping World. Took a long time for them to fix these things and they still were not done right. the water damage repair looked like sh*t. It was a "Half-assed" job, which was finally done right when it went back to the factory. They replaced the Skylight and the entire roof membrane. In this process they had to remove all the solar panels and other things. When they replaced the solar panels, they wired something wrong and burnt up the Solar Isolator Switch along with the fuse and some of the wiring. On more than one occasion, they worked on electrical and when I got it back home I found high amperage DC connections that were only finger tight so I have made it a point of checking every connection that they could have possibly touched. I was an electrician and they scared the crap out of me. These loose connections WOULD HAVE caused heat and over time very likely a fire. Did I mention that the system is located right under the bed? Got it home again and the system still did not function correctly. After about 10 months of this I finally included Forest Forest in on our communications and they wanted to bring the trailer back to the factory. It has been 2 years now and I still haven't gotten to use the trailer. IMO, Camping World Meridian technicians need to have some extensive training on DC electrical and on larger solar setups. I was an electrician so I have a good working knowledge of the system, and it seems that I understand it better than their technicians At one point, the slide stopped working and they had to replace something. I seem to remember them saying the whole slide frame had to be replaced. The slide system still has a short that I have to trace down and fix. Yes, I'm doing it myself because I don't trust their electrical tech that worked on my trailer any further. Additionally, when I was doing work under the kitchen cabinet, I noticed that the sink drain line was COMPLETELY disconnected from the sink. had I connected water to the unit and ran water through the faucet (which I also found to be broken), water would have gone directly onto to the floor. The drain line it should have been connected to was not secured at all, just flopping around. The fix (probably a factory thing) they used was to place a 1" x 1" x 12" piece of wood attached to the floor with a single screw and wedged under the drain line to hold it up to the P-Trap. The first trip down the road would probably have bounced it loose. Glad I looked into the void under the sink. I could go on and on, but you will stop reading, so just be aware of all the little things that you normally wouldn't think of. Do your research BEFORE you go to look for a trailer (where ever you go) and look for the little things. read more

My husband and I have been dealing with Camping World for two years now, and it has been a complete nightmare. We purchased a brand new toy hauler and there was nothing but issue after issue. We finally traded in the brand new toy hauler for a RV with a $20,000 loss. It was not even a year old but we were sick of the issues and the run around with the warranty department. After such a huge loss we thought well they will hopefully make it right on the next purchase. Definitely did not happen, we purchased the extended warranty and they told us they would address the window rattle at the time of purchase. We were then told all the issues that were wrong with the camper were not under warranty since we were not the first owners. I can go on and on about the extensive list of repairs that needed to be made the very first time we drove the camper out of town. Every time we reach out about the windows to be fixed they are not willing to help us. I do not recommend purchasing anything from Camping World. I have reached out to corporate as well, but they also are unwilling to help. read more

Absolutely incompetent. I needed a brake controller cable to pick up a trailer on a Tuesday. They said it was in stock so I ordered it from the Meridian store on a Saturday and paid for next day delivery. Sunday came and went and nothing. I called Camping World's customer service on Monday morning- who said the couldn't contact the Meridian store. Three hours later CS called to tell me the Meridian store didn't fill the order because the cable was not in stock! It took my call and several efforts from the CS agent to find this out. Save yourself a headache and drive somewhere else. We have been trying to purchase a RV for an employee to use out of state and can not believe how difficult they are making it. It's almost like they don't want to sell it to us. We have been working with Cody Safford and tried working with Brian to sort things out. We wanted to bring by the payment, again, and were told not to because we had to schedule a "walk-through" further delaying our purchase. We have been trying to get this trailer for two months now and have incurred additional expenses because our employee is living in a hotel. Camping World Meridian Idaho is fixing our latest problems with Keystone trailer. Have had problems all summer with AC not working and also contact paper on cabinets peeling off. This is the 3rd time for AC repair. Spent all summer with NO AC! Maybe they can fix it. Crossing our fingers. All summer my wife and I were wondering what else would come up broken or just quitting. Not even a year owning Keystone ! The manufacturer needs a lot better quality control. We will be getting trailer back after problems are fixed. read more

Where do I even begin?! I bought a brand new Keystone Cougar 5th wheel in Oct '22 from the CW in Kaysville UT... started having problems almost immediately. Issues with heating, refrigerator, electric to name a few. Fast forward to June, I moved to Idaho and took my Cougar into the Meridian CW to get a buttload of warranty items fixed. I specifically mentioned to contact the Kaysville CW Service Dept to coordinate some parts and work orders that we're still open from my time there. This was mentioned a couple times throughout the repair cycle, almost 2 months later, no contact had been made with Kaysville. WTF. I was assigned a new service coordinator, Tiffany, which immediately scheduled a walk-through to get everything repaired. Kudos to her specifically. Long story short, I lost use of my 5th wheel for 4 months, which I'm still paying for by the way, most concerns have been addressed, but I still don't have a warm fuzzy on a few repairs. I'll be writing a gnarly review for the Kaysville CW as well. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

Jodie has helped us on a few trips we made in and is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Most recently, we came in to look at the Class C's on the lot and Dave was so pleasant to work with. He took his time to drive us out to the RVs, walk us through the ones we liked and even took the time to note things that we are looking for and like in an RV. He was so friendly and not pushy at all. Even though we told him we are just looking, he didn't treat us as anything but good customers and has the best customer service attitude we've experienced. Always hear bad things about Camping World and Good Sam. But I am here to say it is still the best place to find RV accessories on the road, and then with the Good Sam discount to boot its awesome! Then there was Jackie she is the BEST, knew where everything was and everything we needed to go with it. Then found a tool we could borrow so we could put the rack on our Jeep so we could get everything back to the rv since we have a small Wrangler. Jackie also helped us add more time to our Good Sam membership with freeee months and also explained that we could use our GS card in conjunction with our Gas Buddy Card at Pilots to double the discount!Highly recommend! read more

I had the worst service experience of my long adult life with the Meridian Camping World dealership. Took my newly purchased camper to them May 25,2019, for warranty repair. Got the run around for eight weeks for a repair that should have taken 10 days. Told three times that parts were being ordered but somehow never received until June 10th after many complaints to my service representative. Finally told it would be completed by the end of day June 20. Guess what? Not done. Job needed two techs but they assigned one. I had to cancel three reservations planned for late May and June. Just before signing, I looked again and the unit didn't have one even after they said it did. We stopped by Camping World today to get a new hose for our propane tank and to try to identify a good cleaner for our windows. As we searched through the store for the correct hose, we were passed by multiple associates. Not one acknowledged us nor asked if they could help us. We approached the service desk to inquire on the window cleaner, in which we were referred to go to Home Depot or Lowe's. We then asked if we could purchase the propane hose at the service desk, and we're instructed to go back to the check stand. The check stand woman had a very poor attitude and when communicating with the customers she sounded irritated. We left with no purchase and a terrible impression. Extremely unhelpful. There really is no need to shop here, you will not be helped or treated as an appreciated customer. Go to a Lowe's, Home Depot or just order off Amazon. We will not be returning to the store in Meridian. read more

if I could give zero stars I would! We bought a brand new camper at the end of September 2023, it is July 2024. That's 10 months! we have been able to use this brand new unit for maybe 3 months total. every time we did use it we came back to the service department with a long new list of issues that became worse and worse. We had to call to make an appointment just to use our camper that we are paying on monthly. this time it has been in the service department since April with the roof delimitation. it has flooded 3x.from the closed slide. they say that we can use it but we refuse to. we call and call and we can't get anywhere. the closet where it is delimited has collapsed. there are so many issues. i have called corporate at least 3x. and still nothing. on the recording to corporate, Marcus, the CEO, states "If you're not happy, I'm not happy". when does that happen? we have been fighting for months about these issues! read more

My wife and I picked up our new travel trailer on April 29. During the checkout of the RV, it was noted that the entry ladder mount was broken. Camping World repaired it then. It was also noted that the tongue jack didn't have a foot on the base and was just sitting on the shaft. The shaft was dirty and had small rocks sticking out of it. While preparing to hook up to the RV, I suggested to the technician that we place the foot on the base of the shaft. He said it wasn't necessary and would be just another thing dangling from the tongue. I didn't pursue the issue any further, even though I knew I would need the foot in place when I parked the RV on my property. As the technician retracted the jackshaft, it would not fully retract because of dirt and rock debris. The technician cleaned out the shaft and retracted it fully. When we got home to park the RV, before extending the shaft, I went to install the foot on the jackshaft. The foot would not go onto the shaft because the jackshaft base was misshapen. Upon closer inspection, it appears that the RV had been parked in a dirt area, resting on the jackshaft with no foot installed. Then it appears the RV was pulled through the dirt some distance, with the jackshaft extended and no foot, denting and knurling the end of the shaft. I called the service department at Camping World, and they agreed to send a field technician out on April 30 to look at the problem. Camping World then rescheduled for May 1st. When no one showed up on May 1st, I called Camping World, and they said they had me scheduled for May 2nd. While I would say the receptionists, the salespeople, and the finance people were very helpful as you might expect. Thus far the service department has performed quite poorly. read more

Go to Bish's next door for better service and prices. Service is so so if you're buying a new RV, but horrible otherwise. They put a hold on funds when I ordered online, then charged me again when the item was shipped. I was told the hold would be released in "a few days". What if I didn't have enough money in my account for twice the amount of my order? They could have easily over drafted my account but no one seems to care. This is a horrible policy, I wonder how many people it has screwed over. The service department is a joke. I had an 8 AM appt on Monday. When I dropped our trailer off they informed me it would get put in line and looked at sometime in the next 10 days. WHAT? Why do I have an appt? I decided to give them another chance and they raped me for $4 a gallon for propane. I can get it down the street for 1/3 that price NEVER AGAIN YOU LYING THEIVES! read more

Three weeks ago, as my wife and I were preparing for a two-week trip to Yellowstone, we discovered a problem with our travel trailer. We made the discovery at 9pm on Saturday night before a Monday morning departure. Since Camping World Meridian had winterized the trailer and then prepped it for summer I went to them on Monday morning for help. Their service department told me they could not look at the trailer until July 12 - seven days in the future. I had RV park reservations in 5 different places in the next 14 days and had to be on the road THAT DAY, but alas Camping World was entirely inflexible and would not offer ANY help until the following Monday. I had no choice but to leave and be on my way. We did manage to figure out what the problem was and get it fixed along our way - no thanks to Camping World. Lessons learned: 1) DO NOT ==EVER== accept your RV for return to service without PERSONALLY checking out EVERY system BEFORE you sign the service documents 2) DO NOT ==EVER== expect help from Camping World in an emergency. Any emergency you may have is YOUR emergency, not theirs. 3) Seek out a place that will help you in event of an emergency and GO THERE for service read more

Their service department is so unbelievably bad I'm struggling to describe it without expletives. I bought my Keystone 429 here 1 year ago. Immediately had nothing but problems. AC thermostat, leveling system, missing accessories.....it's been in several times, and as of November was still having the same problems. I brought it back in in Nov to get these items fixed under warranty and trade the damn thing in with a dealer that actually cares and is competent. I was very clear about what needed to get fixed - main cabin AC thermostat, leveling system panel, shower door, and some minor exterior damage. First 3 items were warranty, last was insurance. They have had my trailer for 3 months and nothing has been done. When I reached out a month ago nobody got back. Reached out again, got a different advisor, and he couldn't even tell me why my trailer was there. He swore he was going to get to the bottom of it and get back to me last week, here we are Tue and I still have no idea what is going on. To say these guys are incompetent would be an understatement. BUY YOUR TRAILER SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT ACTUALLY CARES AND HAS A COMPETENT SERVICE DEPARTMENT! read more

If not for the salesman who drove us around the lot, and helped us select the right RV for us, the rest of our experience was actually ridiculous! They do not give the impression that the customer is their priority. At all. The night we bought our RV, we were there for almost four hours, even though we found what we wanted within the first hour. It was a back-and-forth game, like a typical nightmare of "let me ask my manager." "Let me check with the Finance Manager...," etc. We scheduled our pick-up date and time, and no one called to tell us it wasn't ready, so we took a half day off work, arrived on time, only to find that it wouldn't be ready until the next day. Their solution was a $100 gift certificate to their store. My husband lost more than that taking time off work. They didn't seem concerned. When we went back to pick it up the next day, they asked that we bring more documents with us, even though supposedly, everything was "good to go!" We found a nice RV for a good price, and our salesperson, Chase, was delightful. Otherwise, I would NOT recommend them to anyone. read more
