BUYER BEWARE! Salesperson tried to sell us a 5th wheel that our 1500 could not pull, much less STOP! This put our potential safety at risk! Did research before signing papers and found it it was a death trap for us! I called and told them why we would not be going through with the transaction and to cancel everything. They still tried to charge my credit card for the deposit (first $7000, then $2500 5 times thereafter) that I had authorized at the Hershey show the day before. They tried six times. Good thing I locked my card after I called. I called Harrisburg camping world and got a persons name "Peter" and he threw me a bunch of attitude when I told him why didn't you call when it was declined the first time. I told him it was six times and he said no I only tried three times which is not true. He then hung up on me. The service department at this camping world is awful. They sold me an RV with a broken AC; then it was pulling teeth to get it fixed; they did crummy work and a bolt felt out, they closed the slide and tore up my floor. They then submitted the work to fix it through my warranty. There are also other issues. They've had my RV for 4 months, the work is not done. They do not return calls. The Service Director should be let go. When asked what was taking so long, she told me she could not "babysit" work orders. It's not babysitting - it's called leadership and accountability - of which she has none. I plan to go get my RV and try to find another solution for the work that needs to be done. read more

We have had nothing but trouble with our 2019 Montana High Country, which we were told that was top of the line camper. First year of camping after 3 trips the living room slide broke which left us with camping trips to be cancelled and the loss of money. Now we have had trouble with our frame bending. Due to poor manufacturing. After calling camping world and being directed where to go to have it fixed and spending $7000.00! My salesman Travis Smith, went above and beyond in helping us find the right trailer for us and was extremely friendly and quick with his responses to my emails. If you're looking to purchase a camper from here be prepared to not get a response after you give them any type of money (including a holding fee). The communication with the sales team, finance and front desk is non-existent. The front desk is not friendly and they send you to leave a voicemail with who you need to talk to, and they will never call you back. Even if you email, they will not email you back. If you need to get in contact with someone, call every single day multiple times a day, and when that still doesn't work you'll have to demand to speak to a manager. No one that works there has a sense of urgency or consideration. The only pleasant conversation I had was with Skyler, the manager. If you want your camper delivered, forget it. They cannot give you a set date or time, unless you ask to speak to a manager then he can find all the information that you have been asking multiple people for for the past 4 days in a matter of 5 minutes. When my delivery driver got there to pick up my camper he had to wait 2 hours for them to finish cleaning it. What exactly they were cleaning... I really can't tell you because there was stink bugs all over the carpets, in the shower and on the floor. The most interesting part of my experience was when I moved the table in my living room area, 2 pieces of marijuana fell onto the floor... I don't smoke, but this would explain the musky smell the inside of the camper had. Your "2 hour walk through" will be 30 minutes long with someone who is definitely uninterested in their job and didn't bother to tell you that your water pump and sewage pump are not included and you'll need to purchase those separately. If you want to spend thousands of dollars on something please do it somewhere else where they will take you and your money seriously. read more

Zach tried to tell me that their $1200 dealer prep designed to fix things that are broken is a great deal instead of actually having the WARRANTY cover it for $0 one day later. I had an issue with service and emailed the CEO directly who partnered with the store manager of the Hanover PA location. The manager reached out to me directly to (potentially) resolve the issue and asked that I give them a survey nod on their site in which I did stating that I was happy with the follow up and the issue would be resolved. I did everything to soon- because to this day (months later) the manager did not follow through on what he promised he'd do. So ZERO stars to this business. The service department is top notch. BOB my advisor helped me every step of the way with updates and great customer service. I drove 200 miles to go to this location which was well worth it. I understand all these other reviews complain about how long the repairs takes and are upset they can't use their RV . This is a problem industry wide not enough tecs or parts , mean while everyone is buying a new rv thinking there indestructible . These RVs take a lot of maintenance and knowledge to keep them on the road. People think because they are brand new they will never have a problem . Which is completely wrong !!!! Look I am in sales, and I understand getting a customer needs analysis. But you can't try to force someone to give you that information! We went back to Camping World today to see a Geo Pro that we knew was sold! We tried to explain this when we entered the building to check in. My husband told them twice! The guy trying to get us to come in his office refused to listen. So my husband headed out to look at the unit we were there to see! Camping World whatever sales process you are using is pushy, obnoxious, and way too aggressive! You lost a sale because of this behavior. I guess I should have read the reviews b4 I trekked all the way over there; TRYING not to do business w/ Chesaco. Boy was I disgusted!! 1) We had a confirmed appt to see a specific camper. Sadly all sales teams use telemarketers these days to make the appts (lazy salespeople) who are so warm & welcoming, etc... But you don't learn this until you walk ion. Unfortunately the (clueless) salesman was not as warm nor inviting and had NO idea we were coming. & even though we had to SIGN-IN to be 'received', NO information was provided to the lucky salesman as to who we were or why we were there... 2) When he finally discovered what unit we came to see, he had to "go find it and make sure it was set up". This took about 15 mins and it was at the very farthest point of their yard. My wife using a walker on a river rock-covered dirt road finally gave up about 1/4 of the way when we asked/insisted that he get one of the many golf carts laying around not being used (he never offered one...) 3) It was in fair condition (at best), canvas needing replacement (he said it was 'ordered' and would be replaced..) and had the original mattresses (which he insisted were brand new but were definitely NOT and had the original date of manufacturer tags still on them older than the trailers. He conceded the point and 'promised' they would be replaced b4 delivery. 4) Just about everything out of his mouth was a misrepresentation and we were ready to go. He insisted that they would work w/ us to make it work, we made a more-than-fair offer on a 6 yr old used pop-up that was listed at more than it originally sold for new. I thought, at the very least they'd be negotiable in this economy. But his basic attitude was: "we're here, if you want to buy something great but these are our prices!" and he started w/ the standard BS & sales excuses of fair market value, auction prices, etc.... We went back to the office and provided WAY more information than what was necessary to get a price on the unit. He came back several times asking more & more questions that had nothing to do w/ our question. 5) He finally presented paper w/ pricing. They came down $1,000 on the price (which supposedly incl new canvas (all around) & brand name mattresses (not what I hoped for nor what was "fair market") but then they added back in $1,500 of "prep" fee... We inquired as to what "prep' was needed and he rambled about total bullshit that didn't apply to most units (maybe to the NEW $300,000 buses) but certainly not to this unit in any way and would not budge explaining that they NEVER eliminate this charge. So on top of the egregious profit, they want to bend you over the barrel w/ NO Vaseline !!! We got up to walk out & he mumbled something about the manager wanting to talk to us but in the several minutes it took for my wife to make it to the front door, NO effort was made. After getting home and coming all these other bad reviews I am SO happy we didn't do business w/ them!!! The sad part is that in the Delmarva area it's pretty much a monopolized market for RV's, controlled predominantly by just 2 or 3 dealers... so sad... read more

I have given up "begging" for their business, which is crazy since it would have been my dollar going into their pocket! It started when we wanted to buy a new camper and talked to Roger Clise, who repeatedly assured us they were going to be receiving the exact camper that we wanted. 4 months later, he called us and said it would arrive by Saturday but definitely be there Monday. 2 weeks later, they still did not have the camper. After several calls and visits to the store, we were so frustrated that we called another dealer and bought the trailer on the spot. Hanover camping world must not need customers, so it seems, because their customer service is lacking. Again, we call Hanover Camping World to try and schedule an inspection. Nothing was on display, wasn't a single camper opened up to look at, it was like they could have cared less about selling campers. I've purchased 2 campers from them in the past, both at their spring show, but no more with the attitude they had today. They have had our RV since December!!! We repeatedly have to call them for updates. Service manager never available or doesn't return calls. This is beyond ridiculous!! Need a door fixed and some other relatively minor things. On Friday (5/14) we were told it would finally be ready by Tuesday. No one called. Called today, twice!!! No one can return a phone call!! Although the service department had just closed, they came out to take a look at our truck for us. We have been having troubles with our trailer brakes. Service department is lacking in knowledge and experience, I think We had friends come up from Maryland to visit and also have work done on their MH while here. No gas to the unit. A simple gas regulator replacement that was supposedly the problem, took five days. The gas regulator wasn't the problem after all. A faulty shutoff valve instead found after leaving the area by another RV dealer in MD. Camping World never even tested the unit after the install of the regulator! We had our MH PA inspected there at a near $100 cost. Afterwards we then took our MH to SUN Mercedes Benz, our dealer for some warranty work and as always they did a safety check. They found lug nuts loose on one of the inspected wheels that CW pulled and checked and our wiper blades badly in need of replacement which should have been found by the CW inspection. The PA inspection by Sun Motors MB was only $45! Store seems to be OK and the people friendly and helpful. We now go out of our way to avoid he CW service Dept! read more

On January 5, 2019, my mom handicap mom and I went to Hanover, PA to check out a RV that we saw for sale online. While we were there, we saw a 3 wheel scooter on the floor. We sales staff and the store manager were present to help show my mom how to use it. Not realizing that this was a creational scooter and that it was not safe for a handicap person, we bought it. Within 24 hours of purchasing the scooter, I contacted the store manager of the fact that it was not safe for a handicap person. The manager did not care and was only concerned of the hidden fact that they do not accept returns for discounted floor models. I issue with Camping World staff are the following. 1. Why would you knowing sell a recreational scooter to a handicap person. 2. Why didn't camping world clearly state the return policy. 3. Why wouldn't you accept a return when the scooter was never even been used. Thank God the scooter did not cost thousands of dollars. We will never shop again at any Camping World store. It seems there are many reviews out there regarding Camping World dishonest sales tactics. I hope Marcus Lemonis is seeing these reviews. If I could give it a zero star, I would have. This was my first time at this Camping World and can say it was outstanding. I went in for service for my RV and Bob Ripley took great care of me and my coach. He listened to my concerns about what needed to be repaired and he made sure they were addressed. The service techs (names unknown) fixed what could be done in the day and it all looked great. I'll be back for more warranty work and know I'll be taken care of. Bethany Fenton assisted me in special ordering table inserts for my sofas. They were in and in my hands in less than a week. Military family purchased Thor Hurricane 33x in June 2020. Pending relocation & need to be onsite for current employment. Unable to get water leak repaired. Daily trips to laundromat to wash towels used to mop up leakage. No running water since June, no drinking water, no showers, unable to cook or wash dishes. Paying a lot of money for a home that is uninhabitable. Your remote repair person came out in July but didn't fix it. It took until October to get an in shop appointment. Meanwhile the water damage has continued. Had to put our belongings in storage. Returned Camper to Camping World October 5th. Over 2 weeks & no word on when this nightmare will end. When called, your shop said "warranty vehicles are low priority" !!!??? Your inability to make timely repairs has left my family virtually homeless & forced to live with relatives. Unable to stay together as a family. Military veterans have orders to move in early November for re-activation but have to split up while one stays in PA until this issue is resolved. At this point, repair seems mute after months of water damage, will the mold, rot, rust, structural integrity of the camper be addressed ??? A reputable dealership would buy back this lemon for what was paid & transfer the loan to another camper of choice or give full refund. Update 10/21 - told part unavailable, 6-8 more weeks without a home or transportation. Your response to this disaster has been totally inadequate & irresponsible. This poor response has wasted needless energy, time, money, & caused great frustration. UPDATE: November 8th. Camper still being "repaired". No completion date given told "not to call, they will call us." Just before Thanksgiving, Camping world was called again. We were told it was ready for pick up. We get the camper & drive it down to Florida where the new job began back at the end of October only to discover mouse poop in all the drawers & cabinets. Warped & rotting floorboards & a moldy mattress. This camper is unlivable and has been since we bought it in June & it's condition gets worse every time we attempt to use it. Camping World of Hanover is despicable. Cannot believe how they are still in business. It is now December 9th and nothing has been corrected to our satisfaction. Poor organizational skills across the board. We bought a new camper and had them service our other one. Had issues on both ends. They could understand simple concepts or instructions given. My camper wasn't ready when I came to get it. I sat over an our while they said they could fix and issue, then they couldn't, then they could, then they couldn't. Had a full service done, yet my battery wasn't charged when I went to hook it up, as well as if there was a battery issue nothing was mentioned. There were too many issues to list. Terrible customer service! Went to buy accessories for our RV. Asked several questions and everyone had to ask everyone else. Went to the service counter to ask a question, I was only customer at the counter and 1 guy on the phone and 2 guys talking behind the counter. I asked if I could get some help and was curtly told to wait a minute or a minute and a half!! They were unable to help me with tire sizing on my rig, so I googled the specs myself and THEN they could look up more detail on their phone just like I did. Won't be back.
