OMGOSH, I wish hubby and I would have read all these reviews prior to making our committment to Camping World Akron, everyone of the reviews I JUST READ, hit the nail on the head on all our issues. Jim Hatfield was AMAZING! We really truly liked chatting with him, the rest, not so much. Our salesman set up our closing date, told us that worked for him, we got there on Weds, our salesman was on VACATION! We are having an issue with a bad axel on the camper we have already paid for but DONT HAVE, we've called, I've written to our "salesman", he doesn't respond, I wrote to the Marketing Mgr and GSM and they both said they'd look into the issues, haven't heard back from them, was told since this was our first fifth wheel, after they installed the fifthwheel hitch in our truck the service guy would show how how to hook up the camper, sent us out to our camper with our truck, no service guy, had to go find him, no camper, Mr. Vaughn had sent it into the shop because the awning was broke and he said all we needed to do was "pull" on it, ummm NOPE, it should WORK RIGHT, left a big black spot on carpet, stink bugs under the recliners, not a great job of cleaning the camper at all. So ther service guy has no idea where the camper went, so we never got shown how to hook up the camper. We both took the day off work to get this camper and we were so excited, here we are going on 2 weeks since paying for it and still no axel, no answers other than it should be here the 24th. Our trade in is emptied and sitting in our driveway. NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL, all they wanted to do on the walk through was SELL SELL SELL, you have to buy this, you have to buy that, spend this, add that. We are trading in a 2021 camper for a 2019 and we are so frustrated. We were sort of warned by some friends not to come here, but we had hoped we were going to get lucky, the camper "looked" great in the pics and it is in great shape other than the axel and awning but NO ONE calls to give us updates and SHAME on our "salesman" for not following through. sigh Well, I guess my review is really no different than all the other ones I've read. This has to be the worse service department we have ever had to deal with. We bought a 2021 jayco in September of 2020. We have used it 1 time. We had to cancel another trip in October because of inoperable equipment. They have had our motorhome since November 5th and it still not fixed. Now we are cancelling another trip for today February 11 and will probably have to cancel another one we had scheduled for first of March. They have had our motorhome longer than we have it. We bought it to travel and get a way from cold weather and here we sit making payments on something we can't use and losing money on campground reservations. This is ridiculous. This past week I was the target of a Rude, Disrespectful salesperson at this Akron location. We have been the customer at many CAMPING world facilities throughout the many years of traveling. This man Charlie Schrader with his extremely large gold chain and larger Cross was the absolute meanest person I have ever encountered. And I have worked with salesmen my entire career. His behavior was belittling and downright hostile that I dared to question him... A man to avoid...this was a phone conversation...I honestly would have been very concerned to have been in his space with his shouting temper...if you must deal with this location...find another more pleasant , less confrontational salesperson...I would hope the Sales Manager would take this review seriously... read more

I am wondering how this location achieved a one and a half stars on yelp! If there was room for a zero this is the company that deserves it. I just spent over $40,000 with camping world and can't get them to help me 700 miles away in an emergency. I would not recommend to buy anything from camping world! Especially at this location in Akron Ohio. The lady in the service what she was doing and could not pull one of her precious technicians away for a short phone call to ask about this $1000 hitch they sold me! As I said stay away from camping world you would be better off going to one of the smaller little guys who will take care of you! to top that off it took them two days to call me back when I had indicated that it was an emergency. We purchased a brand new camper in May of 2019, we later found out that it was sold to us with a cracked sky light that caused leaking and mold. Their customer service is terrible & the different departments don't communicate amongst either other. We ended up selling it back to them in May of 2020 for significantly less just to get rid of it read more

Wife and I stopped in twice with in 4 years of each other. Got same sales lady both times. On fist trip in april 2015 we was shopping for travel trailer. Told the lady what we was looking for and that we had stop at another RV dealer and looked at a travel trailer that was brand new but was the previous years model that hadnt sold. She immediately said don't buy it that it would have lot rot and that the RV dealership doesn't have good reputation pretty much bad mouthed the other dealership. Not classy in my opinion. Then tried to sell us the same model camper same year but was used i asked why wouldn't this have lot rot couldn't answer me with strait face so I said to wife I am done lets go. Fast forward sept 2017. Decided too try again cause they have a great selection of RVs. Walked in same sales lady. Told her we are in the market for fifth wheel campers. She asked what are you going to use to tow it. I said at the time I have a 2016 chevy 2500hd that has a fifth wheel towing capacity of 14500 and that we wanted to stay under 12500lbs on fifth wheel weight. She got up walked out was gone for a for few minutes. Came and apologize for leaving. She said i went to our service department they are looking up your truck cause I know your truck can't tow that much. Now i have bought many trucks in my day. I am a informed buyer I know what MY TRUCK can tow. So I told her I was right about it she argued with me like I had no idea. Told wife lets go not going to have someone tell me that I don't even know my own truck and treat me like I am a dummy. We ended up buying the TT that she said would have lot rot. Have owned it since 2015 and love it. Only reason for up grade is that we are going on the road full time and Need More space. My suggestion for camping world after reading reviews of other people it seems too be the same common problem sales people fire everyone and start a new. This dealer is the worst ever. We had a horrible buying experience here . We bought a used 2012 Keystone Cougar 31RKS from them. The day we showed up for our inspection and paper work at 9:00 am appointment , took all day for them to get the trailer ready , did not leave they lot until 3:00PM and load leveling hitch was still not installed right . Back up camera was not working , had to figure that one out on our own . Will never go back here to this dealer again . read more

We bought a brand new travel trailer from here. After getting the camper home I noticed an issue with the water heater cover not shutting all the way. We were told that was how it was designed and they could not fix the issue. We have now had the camper for a little over two months and it has been 4 times, in this time of using it we have already issues with the screen door not shutting, the bedroom sliding door has broken, and trim pieces around the slide out have broken off. The service department was not very helpful in trying to get issues resolved. I have found it easier to fix the items myself rather than have to deal with them and drag the camper to them when they can fit the repairs in their schedule. read more

Just purchased a 124k Class A from camping world in Akron. Worst mistake we ever made. Our Salesman was a great guy and the head of finance was very nice during the finance process. The Finance department messed up on the payoff for our trade in and we where told by the Finance Mgmt to bad you just need to payoff the remainder. Very very bad customer service. Don't get me started on the Service Dept. the young uneducated girls they have working at the Desk need to learn manners. They talk down to customers and when I tried to make an appointment for some minor Warranty work on our 3 week old coach I was told we need to give them at least 2-3 weeks to fix the issues. This was the answer from the disrespectful young girl before she even knew what the issues where. Please don't buy from them. We should have gone back to Lazy Days. We had nothing but a wonderful experience with them for 16 years. Live and learn. read more

Terrible customer service and do not honor warranties or insurances. I bought a 38 ft travel trailer 2 years ago and was denied replacement of crooked leveling jacks right of the bat. Last December I bought a pretty new motorhome 2014 and as soon as i used it (first time after winter in April) the A/C was not working. They denied checking it and even though I paid almost $6,000 dollars for the extended warranty, they said it was not part of the camping unit, but the Ford Chassis, transferring the responsibility to Ford. I wish I could give zero stars to Camping World of Akron! We just purchased a new Forest River Riverstone Reserve. We purchased the unit sight unseen which we will never do again. We originally were going to finance but decided to pay cash for everything. We also paid to have the unit delivered to Idaho. When the unit arrived there was sawdust everywhere. There was a baking pan stuck under the kitchen slide and a window screen that had fallen out. The panel that hides the water lines in the pass-through storage is missing and there are two different brands of batteries in the unit. The propane tanks are also empty! Did I mention that the gray 1 tank is showing full? We could not believe how the unit arrived after paying the $995.00 PDI fee. There was no PDI done on this unit! How would you check the gas appliances without gas? How can you leave the water panel missing? There is no clear way to turn on the ceiling fan. No remote and the string pulls do not work. We tried to tune the TV but it seems there is no antenna. We could not find the WIFI router either. I am not sure if it is even there. There were no new stickers showing the unit had been winterized. Only the sticker that was there prior to us buying it. We were told Camping World would go through the entire unit. There is no way that happened. They took all of our money and sent the unit over a week late, dirty and the worst part is the landing gear will not auto level. We live in a very remote part of Idaho. Now we are wondering what to do that this point. We cannot get the trailer leveled so we do not feel we can fill the water system. I wish I had seen these reviews before purchasing this unit from CW of Akron. We thought we were getting a great deal but all we got was the very worst customer service ever! read more

Purchased 2018 Forest river Forester, just driving it home 100 mi. had 4 pages of things wrong took 2 months get in. Went on fist trip. Problem with jacks coming on while driving . Furnace smoked so when turned on set off smoke alarm! What ever you do do NOT bye extended warranty,extra paint and interior protection is not worth crap! They will sell you things you do not need .Example I found out I had a aluminum roof not rubber as sales and service told me. They sold me A rubber roof coating ,I did not need. Do not leave you camper there over night .As if your not Broken into,they will dent something .Go look at over flow? Recent tail light LED ,started in Aug to get a back-up Light ,Techs took pictures, they still could not get the right light ordered? 5 trips up their 1200 mi. . Call me you lights in get up their they never even opened it to see if i was correct . Do you self a favor stay away from this CW I found A good CW but its 4 states Away! I've Had campers all my life from tow-behinds,5th wheels,class C. You stay away from big dealers in AKron ! Best dealers,are the small ones.Small in comparison to guys with big show rooms. Bought a Puma 31 thss and am happy with it however I was never shown how to operate TV antenna and hook it up to TV (small problem) and a few other minor things. Put 6000 miles on it this winter to FL and back. Half way thru trip brakes quit working. I called and was told to bring it in but wasn't near 1 so, said the heck with it and brought it home. Yesterday I started to work on it and found it had manual adjust brakes (who knew) and made the adjustment. now during this inspection I discovered that when it was prepped (at dealer Akron Oh), it was not greased. the only grease on the bearings was from initial packing at the factory. Axle spindles were clean and it should have been covered in grease yet thru "luck" bearings where not hurt. Moral of the story,,,,, QUESTION EVERYTHING AT THE DEALER. There's a reason Camping World of Akron, OH has only one star. We visited there Saturday 1/9/21 even though we were warned by many RV regulars to avoid the place. They had a specific RV we wanted to see and wanted to give Camping World the opportunity to provide us a better shopping experience than expected. Plus, we are Marcus Lemonis fans and hoped he had improved the place's bad reputation. Boy did we make a mistake! We negotiated a price on an RV and even though I did not think is was a great deal, we decided to go with it because there is such demand for RVs now and we didn't want to get shut out of not having an RV for the upcoming season. My spouse was putting the RV in her name and she filled out all the initial paperwork. Now, we had told the salesman we could buy the RV outright if we wanted, but wanted to see what our financing options were before deciding. My wife signed the credit inquiry release but it was crystal clear that the credit report would not be pulled until needed. Soon, a finance guy named Scott sat down in front of us and started the used car salesman routine. Scott told us to our face that he had NOT YET pulled the report, and could offer us a guaranteed 5.99% finance rate without pulling the credit report. I noticed my spouse was getting uncomfortable about the deal so I told her it would be no harm to sleep on it a night. Scott said we could do that, but if we waited one day, we would lose many hundreds of dollars of promotions they had that weekend. Now remember. It was Saturday and the promos were for Saturday AND Sunday but Scott was going to deny us those promotions if we came back the next day, Sunday, to complete the deal. That really offended us. My wife asked him why he would do that to us. Scott said that's just the way it works! We soon walked out. Exactly one month later my wife got three letters in the mail from the three credit reporting agencies. They said that her credit report WAS pulled on 1/9/21, and based on the score, she did NOT qualify for the deal Camping World had offered. Now for one, her score was in the higher end of the 700's so she had better than average credit to get financing. Two, at NO TIME while we were at Camping World did they tell us her credit was pulled.....they did just the opposite. After going back and forth with Camping World's customer service (Jessica E.) we have since learned that the credit report was pulled JUST BEFORE the finance guy Scott sat down and told us to our face, "I have not yet run your credit." So it appears he knowing lied to us, knew we could qualify for a better finance rate that 5.99%, then tried to trick us into going with the higher rate so he and Camping World would make more off of us. Jessica E. of customer service knows this and hasn't done anything other than hand the matter off to the Akron Camping World. The Akron finance manager called me once a week ago (John I think), knows all this information too, but has failed to call us again. All we want is the credit inquiry to be removed but have said that can't be done. They have no explanation why Scott lied to us or why we were denied the promos by waiting one day. It had been almost a week now and it appears Camping World is done with us. Now I feel it is my obligation to warn other customers what to expect. DO NOT sign anything until it is absolutely necessary! DO NOT believe anything your Camping World salesman or finance person tells you! We went traveled over 3 hours to get to this dealership. We wanted to look at 3 different models. The salesman we had decided he had something else in mind. We decided to stay with our own decision. When we got there he said we would not need money down then when he went to work the numbers he asked if we could put $6,500 down. He said we had to put $1000.00 down to get things started. WE put cash down with a receipt. Before the 24 hours was up I texted the salesman and called finance and told them that we changed our mind and wanted our money back; someone acting like a sales manager told us we had no deal and we would have to come and sign because we paid cash and they can't send cash back. I consulted with a legal firm and they said they would just have to EMAIL papers to sign if that was the case but the most professional way was to let us move on and send a check in the mail. The finance department left messages three times that day to discuss payments. No communication on their part. My husband then got a hold of a sales manager who said we would have a check in the mail. It has been six days and no check. I am going to contact better business along with my legal council. They are obligated to return our deposit. They are starving for money and obviously are cheating people so they can have easy profit. I am writing this so no one else gets stung. You nicely ask for your deposit back and they act like crooks. I have talked to several rv sales in my state and they all return deposits even if its a few days before pick up. read more

This place is a joke. Poor communication, poor communication, poor communication. Salesman are lazy and run back forth to guy behind the glass and give you some B.S. story that they work for you. Its my fault that I even gave this place a shot. I should have read other customers reviews first. Typically, there is always 1 or 2 complainer reviewers but on Camping World, Akron its all the way thru. Long story short, bought a brand new camper and paid for the sealant extra. They didn't even clean the camper off prior to putting the sealant on. Decals were coming off the side of the motor home. Pretty sure, they wrecked or tweaked the one molding slide out because the caulk was a different color and was still WET! Motor home was out of fuel. The generator would not fire. Didn't detail the inside as promised and to top it all off, they didn't even put a 30 day tag on the thing. I strongly suggest driving down the road to General RV before dealing with these jokes. Worst RV repair place in Ohio!!! Took forever to schedule our motorhome to be looked at and once we had it there they suggested having our motorhome roof sealed for $1400.00. My husband normally does this himself yearly and we have had our motorhome for years with no leak ever. After they sealed the roof there is a huge leak from the roof on the back of our motorhome. We called them to tell them what happened and they guy said well its like an oil change and the warranty is only for 3 months. Never Never again dealing with them wouldn't suggest them to anyone!!!!! read more

I puchased a 2019 puma trailer this past spring had a few minor repairs needing done. Have had it in for service twice they keep for a week first time 10 days second time, same repairs still need done. Manufacture warranty will be up before repairs needed at purchase are done by the way repairs were supposed to be completed before I ever picked it up! NOT DONE you try to call service dept about it no one ever answers phone you leave a message they DO NOT call you back, go there in person and no one can help you. DO NOT PURCHACE A TRAILER OR RV FROM HERE if there are any problems even minor you are out of luck. Calling an attorney done with this. I purchased a NEW travel trailer here on 5/19/2017 and have had several issues with them since I signed the papers. when I went to my appointment to pick it up I was treated way differently since they already had my money but I let that go. I called them 4 or 5 times shortly after I picked it up with issues I had with the hot water heater and getting the title switched from Ohio to PA and always had to leave messages but never once got a return phone call. I now have several issues with my trailer that are covered under warrantee which I took into their facility on12/1/2017 it is now 2/18/18 and after hearing all their excuses all this time I contacted the manufacturer myself only to find out that not even one part has been ordered yet. They don't even have the warrantee paper work completed to have authorization for repairs approved. You are definitely rolling the dice dealing with them because if you need anything after you sign the papers and they get your money I hope you have good luck. I contacted them more times than I can remember and its always someone else's fault. After looking into it myself it shows that my unit is sitting in their back lot and they will get around to it when and if it pleases them. So I bought my new camper from Camping World even after the salesman gives me the BS about his boss wanting him to lie to me, which he would never do, blah blah blah. I really want it so I buy it in spite of the guy, get it home, let my 3 and 4 year olds check it out, and the first thing the 4 year old does is peel the sticker off where the TV mount is supposed to go. CW rep told me repeatedly not to remove the sticker because that's the exact spot the TV needs to hang. Also, I find out my stereo/cd/dvd player does not have sound inside the RV. The speakers work outside, but not inside. So over the course of the next few days I leave a few messages to have someone from service/tech support call me back. No one ever does, but on one of my calls TO CW, I get a rep, Bri. I explain my issues and ask her if she can take measurements on the same model camper and tell me where this TV hangs. IF she gets time, she'll try and take care of that for me. (After she told me it would be $170 to have the stereo looked at.) I told her not to worry about either of those things, her time is too valuable. So service after the sale is pretty pricey, even if it's something that should have worked before it left the lot. I know, I know...I should have tested everything, but I didn't and now it will cost me $170 to have a $130 stereo looked at. (I called the stereo manufacturer, they had me do a little troubleshooting, then mailed me out a replacement unit) So bottom line is, you buy a unit here, you're on your own after that. read more

Without a doubt, the worst customer service we have had in many years. Our brand-new camper came in a month late and arrived damaged. We arrived for our appointment at 3pm on a week day. Our walkthrough took about 10 minutes. And our wait to get into finance took over 2 hours. I watched people spending $100K on motorhomes getting 5-star service and I think maybe we just didn't spend enough money for quality service at Camping World. They were shutting off all the lights as we were going out to hook up the camper. We are first time camper buyers and the sales people were aware and no one was around to offer assistance. The 30-day tag I watched them put on the camper was missing when we went out to hook up. We didn't get the camper home until almost dark. The parts for the repairs have been delayed several times and the repairs that were made were not done correctly. We went on our first 2 camping trips with a broken brand-new camper. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Camping World. I wish I had read more reviews before we made our purchase. We won't make the same mistake twice! read more

Buyer beware! The online store posts sale prices of items but if you do not have a "club" membership you pay the full price. The problem is that you are not informed of this online. If you show up at the store expecting to get the sale price, that is when you find that the sale price is for "members only." Shopping at Akron Camping World for an RV was the worst experience I've ever had with a sales team. As with another review I saw online, we were literally chased out of the showroom - being shouted at by the sales manager for wasting their time because we couldn't agree on a price for one of their demo models. I'm not joking. It's no wonder customers would rather buy direct from the manufacturer - and that may be the direction things are going for the industry because of experiences like ours. Probably one of the worst experiences buying anything from anywhere, they do not even deserve the one star I gave them. I went to "camping world" to purchase a camper, my wife and I found one we liked we also had a trade in that was parked on a permanent spot and has not been moved in years, which we explained to our salesman Hunter also showed him pictures of it. We decided it would be best to pay the delivery fee of $350 to have our new camper delivered and our trade in picked up because my truck would not pull that much weight. Hunter our salesman had asked about what shape the tires were in on our old camper so I took closeup pictures of all 6 tires and sent them to him, he said I see no dry rot we will be able to tow it. The day of delivery, our new camper arrived the driver hooks up to the old camper and noticed there was no tow chains on it, I did not notice it because I never pulled it anywhere so he said he's not going to take it and started questioning the tires our salesman said was ok. So the driver pulls our new camper to our house and leaves without the old one. I tried calling our salesman to figure out a new plan to get the camper out of there but hunter will not answer phone calls or even text messages. I finally get ahold of the "sales manager" Andrew who tells me I have two options, option 1 I can buy the trade in back off of them, option 2 I can buy chains and all new tires for the camper, I declined both options. After explaining to him what our salesman hunter had said about the tires being towable he wanted proof of the conversation so I gladly sent him screen shots of the pictures and whole conversation I had with hunter. Andrew the "sales manager" calls me back and said here's what we will do, you buy the chains and we will buy the tires, I said deal. I bought chains and put them on, they ordered tires and came out a week later to install them. The tech and I unloaded the wheels and went to put them on all to realize they ordered the wrong lug pattern for the rims, unbelievable I could not even believe it. So after a 4 week run around Andrew the "sales manager" manager calls me and makes up a list of reasons and excuses as to why they will not come back and pick it up, he told me to just keep it and it is now my problem and they will send me my title for it, so I said ok. That happened on Friday morning, Friday evening I had the camper gone myself. We are STILL waiting on our title and it has been 2 weeks. Bottom line is they are very incompetent people who DO not know how to run a business. Once they get your money they feel as if they don't have to talk to you anymore. I hope in writing this review that somebody will read this and think twice about buying from these people even if it's just one person. I will never ever do any type of business with this poorly run facility again. It has been over a month and nothing has been accomplished. read more

I live out of state and purchased my RV from a dealership near where I live. I was having problems with my A.C. unit and found this place as one of the RV dealers near my route. I pulled in and found the service center. There were four clerks and one customer. The of the gals were engaged in a personal conversation, laughing and carring on, with no intention of taking care of work. This other gal, Tiffany I believe, would not look up and just kept typing on her keyboard. When I asked her if she could help me she pointed to this guy at another spot and said "see him, I'm busy" without even looking up. I went over to this 20 something guy with black, dirty hair tied behind him as he finished with the other poor soul. I started to explain my problem and he interrupted me, asking if I brought my camper there. When I tried to tell him I was from out of state he rudely told me they were too busy to help people who did not buy from them and started shuffling around papers. When I asked if he had any suggestions he would not even back I was still there. I found another RV dealer and had my problem fixed. And they were courteous. Not crazy about their sales staff. They listed a New 2017 Dynanmax Isata 536DS on their web site. I was interested in getting a price. They had two listed with lines scratched through them; 180,918 and 134,027. Regarding the price it said "Too low to show. Click for price," I clicked and got a form to fill out for price with my info. Filled it out and then got an email from Dustin Nichols a day later thanking me for my inquiry and listing their hours. No price. So I replied asking for his Too Low to show price. No reply. Called their number and spoke to John. Asked for a price. He says it's on sale for 134,027. I said that price is scratched out online. He replies if you want a lower price to click on Make an offer. He was not very interested in discussing it further. So I go back online and make an offer. Not knowing what they wanted for it I just put 128,000 hopefully so someone would contact me to discuss. Today I get three emails from Dustin Nichols asking me if I had any more questions. I replied yes, what is the Too low to show price on the RV. In the mean time I got a voicemail from Kim who said he had received an email regarding my interest in an RV. Still no price. I call him back and he asks me what RV I currently have? I tell him even though I had filled out a trade request online with info about my trade. Finally I get to ask what he wants for the 2017 Dynamax and he says that the MSRP is 178,000+ (then why did they have an initial price of 180918?). He goes on to state the price is 134,027. I pointed out that that price is scratched through online with a Too low to show message. He says "Well, when you have a trade in ....I'll talk to my manager and get back to you. At this point I told him I was not interested in playing games and no longer was interested in dealing with Camping World of Akron. I guess the price is REALLY TO LOW TO SHOW OR TALK ABOUT OR EVER TO SPEAK OF. Looking for a straight-forward RV dealer. Go some where else. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced. I bought a new camper and was sent down the road with defective parts. Parts that I later found out that they knew were defective. After talking to the service department, we set up an appointment to get it fixed. A month before the appointment I sent pictures of the parts and serial numbers, and was told that the parts would be there when I dropped the RV off. I made sure to tell them that I would be driving 600 miles and to please make sure the parts would be there. I dropped off the RV and it sat on their lot for 2 and a half weeks. After numerous phone calls I was finally told to come get the RV and they will let me know when the parts come in. So as of now, they have no idea when the parts will be there, and I will have to deal with this issue in the spring because I have to drive 600 miles back home. Had the RV been checked over when I took delivery, this would have never happened. The whole experience has been horrible. I would have to call at least 3 times to get a return phone call. I even tried to take the RV to a camping world closer to home but they told me to take it to where I bought it from. I bought an RV from CW in Akron. I was shown what could be shown due to winterization. Everything looked ok on the surface, but when I got it home and took it to my local RV center I was told the roof was bad and the generator had a mouse nest right under the generator muffler that would have caught fire had I not found this before taking it out for its maiden voyage. I asked the salesperson if there were any problems with any of the systems, roof and generator specifically, and the answers were vague and non specific. Now I don't expect a perfect coach, but I also don't expect to spend the equivalent of the sales price on my first service inspection either. I was told it was 'AS IS' - the one thing they were certain of but I think inspecting the roof and generator (and who knows what else could be wrong in the full test after de-winterization) and the systems in the coach when they take these in should be the least of what they do. How else would they know its value. So I can only draw two conclusions: one - they move these through so fast that they never test what they are selling and can hide behind the 'we didn't know' defense - and I would call that shoddy business practices bordering on incompetence. Or two, they did know and just did not pass that information along to the sales department, who in turn didn't pass it along to the customer so they could make an informed decision - that is what I would call deceptive practices. So incompetent or deceptive, either way when you buy used be sure you take someone who knows RVs with you to check out all the systems yourself as you can not trust the information from the dealership. And spend enough time with your coach to get a solid idea of what is wrong. I am not an RV mechanic, and did not think I would need to be to get straight answers about the coach's condition, but apparently that is not the case. I had to pay another dealer to get the truth about the condition of the AS IS coach I just bought. So shame on me for trusting... shame on them for knowing (or not knowing) and / or sharing so little information. I contacted my salesperson and informed him of the situation and told him I would be writing reviews. We will see if anything comes of it. I may find next the waterheater, furnace, plumbing, electrical or some other system is faulty and be SOL on those counts too. Do yourself a favor and get a 30 day warranty so you can have this checked out before you use it. I am only thankful I did as it may have caused fire with potentially horrible results from something that was supposed to bring such pleasure. Camping World do a better job inspecting your coaches when they come in and share any information you have with potential buyers... it is the right thing to do and the right way to do business. I will follow up after I de-winterize the coach and test the other systems. Again, I expected some glitches but not major structural and safety issues that put my family's life at risk - first and foremost and secondly, double the cost of the RV that I was told that was reasonably structurally sound and safe. The service department at your Akron, OH location is absolutely horrendous! We purchased our RV from the Akron dealership last October. We have had it to the service dept. twice since picking it up. It's a brand new rig and yet it's been at the dealership more than it's been with us! We schedule an appointment - who knows why - only to have to wait weeks afterwards to retrieve our RV. What's the point of having an appt. if Camping World is not going to honor it. The latest fiasco happened within the last few month. We called the 2nd week in May and schedule an appt (we were told the 1st one available) for June 21 to drop off our RV due to a leaking propane tank. The RV is still under warranty yet, here it is, July 30th and it still is not ready! I've had to cancel trips due to the incompetence. I've lost my deposits because of the long, drawn out workings of Akron's service dept. I can't tell you how disgusted I am. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't go there to purchase my first RV and I certainly won't recommend it to anyone! Absolutely ridiculous! Totally disgusted! read more
