Turns out, I changed the VCT's, cleaned the O2 sensor, and inside the throttle body ; per Scott Kilmers direction, and my truck no longer stalls at idle.....and idles at 750 rpm where is supposed to .... none of this stuff was caused by the "well you know Gary, these things are caused by deeper issues" ,,,, I was trying to throw some work his way, because later on my truck needs a full brake job..... now, got to find someone else, or figure out how to do brakes myself............ I took my 2005 F-150 to Bob after my MIL light came on and started experiencing engine stuttered under load. This was under a month after doing scheduled maintenance at the dealership I used to frequent in another state, so I was leery about going to a local dealership just to experience more headaches. Took the Focus here about a year ago (I've since moved) as there was some trouble with the clutch. First of all their shop and appearance are crystal clean - with a few HOT project cars sitting in some of the bays - including some classic mustangs (which tells me they are true blood ford mechanics). The clutch just needed a slight adjustment. Under $50 and great communication - they called 2x during the day to keep us up to date with the progress. After getting my oil changed at Jiffy Lube, I was told that I had a "moderate engine leak" that I needed to get checked out. My brother and dad have gone to Ford Performance for years and were very happy with the service, so I took my Ford Fusion there last week on their recommendation. I told the guys at FP the situation, so they inspected the engine first thing Friday morning (took only a couple of hours so I was able to get breakfast and come back), and, lo and behold, there was no engine leak at all! I'm very grateful that the guys at FP were honest with me and didn't try to just fix something that wasn't broken. Bob was the guy who helped me out and he was very friendly, even remembering my dad's name after seeing my last name. He even gave me a discount on the inspection, much appreciated!! YAY!!! Finally a specialized Ford repair shop that is not at the dealer! Excellent service, friendly and knowledgeable...and honest. My 2011 Ford Edge's instrumental panel display was flickering like a light show and couldn't even start my car. Frontier Ford service dept next appointment was 7 business days out. I couldn't wait that long without a working car and found Campbell Ford Performance on Yelp. Bob was super courteous, helpful and knowledgeable on the phone. Quick to give me some diagnosis options (vs dealer service dept which can take up to 24 hours after dropping off your car on your appt day). He said it could be the battery or maybe some under lying issues connected to it. I rented a car at the airport, got a tow truck for $70 one way and had it dropped off. They were pretty busy that day so he said to expect a few days before they looked at it which was totally fine! Next day, he called to say my battery was less than 10% and replaced it with the same battery manufacturer Ford uses. Fixed and ready to be picked up that day! Diagnostic fees is included in the overall final price (if you go forward with the repair). Reasonable prices too! Thank you Bob and your crew. I have been bringing my Ford cars here for about 17 years. I presently have 3 Fords (Escape, minivan, F-150 Raptor) and these guys are as competent as I have ever seen and extremely honest. They once charged me $50 for a job I was sure was going to cost $900. They will not fix something that doesn't need fixing. Campbell Ford completed a pretty big job for me in less time than expected. They worked on my 1990 Bronco II project vehicle. The previous shop that installed the oil pan botched the repair and Campbell Ford was there to correct the mistake. The engine needs to come out to replace the pan gasket and Robert completed the repair in a little more than a day. This is an update review for Campbell Ford Performance. I have also just added photos of two of the six Fords I have had serviced and repaired with Bob at Campbell Ford over the past 25+ years. The classic white Mustang was serviced there for the majority of the 32 years we owned it (the longest) and our old F-150 only for a year until it was given to a daughter out of town (the shortest). Meanwhile the gold Explorer has been taken care of exclusively by Bob (and Ron before him) for 15 years. The keys to the success of this shop have been 1) honesty and straightforwardness, and 2) the ability to communicate directly with the people doing the work on your car. This includes expressing your concerns when you bring the vehicle in and a clear summary of the diagnosis and repairs needed or completed. Bob always seems to have time to listen to your concerns (and talk a little about classic cars). When looking for a repair shop for my German import cars, I looked for these same characteristics, based solely on my experience over the years with Campbell Ford Performance. read more

Fantastic shop! Just took my Mustang there because my "check engine" light came on. They did a full diagnostic and reported that the problem was just some junk preventing a good seal from properly sealing - no replacement or repairs needed. If I took it to the dealer, there is no doubt they would've replaced some part that didn't need replacing and charged 5X what Campbell Ford charged. First time that the "check engine" light resulted in a paltry $100 bill! Was expecting a LOT bigger tab, based on past experience with the Ford dealer. I'll be trading in/selling my Mustang for another one in the next few years, and you can bet I'll take the new one to this place for everything as well! read more

I have a vehicle that other repair shops shuddered when I asked about my wife's 1988 Lincoln Mk7 LSC. Yes, in it's day it was the "State of the Art" car. Ford pioneered American anti lock brakes as well as other features that are now considered standard equipment on most cars. Because of the technology at the time (remedial on board computer systems) their ABS system was complicated but extremely effective. The Campbell Ford Performance knew what the problem was and fixed it with minimal charge! That rates 5 stars in my book. read more

Have been taking my 06 Mustang here for about a year. They will tell you what your options are, they do what they say they will (on time), and they are decent people. After they did the suspension work I wanted done, they took the time a few days later to make sure that everything was nice and tight in the back - I thought I heard some random noises and they confirmed all the components were installed correctly, no questions asked. They are busy, so you do have to pick your spots about engaging them in long conversations, but technically, they are nails and know what to do to fix/improve your car, so that's not an issue for me. These guys are legit. My truck was making some bangs and pops. I made an appointment on Wednesday night for Friday morning. Dropped of my truck for a diagnostic. About two hours later they called with the diagnosis: spider gears & clutch pack in the diff are toasted. The quote on the labor was very reasonable. Originally they were going to charge me a $110 diagnostic fee, but when I picked it up they only charged me $55...SCORE! They work solely on Fords which is a major selling point for me as I have a '94 Bronco and a '13 Mustang Boss 302. read more
