I can't believe it took me so long to write a review of the Starlite Ballroom! My grandparents…read morelived on a farm not far from there so I went there with them as a kid occasionally and it brings back so many memories each time I go. While I go only once a year at best it is always fun. They have a Polka Fest in August that is fun with different polka bands playing all day each day! Many older folks and some younger, but everyone is friendly and inviting which is what makes it so fun! It is fun to watch the "professional" polka dancers...many that are in matching outfits. Always a lot of people dancing. You can purchase meals and snacks...all home made by the local women in the area so you know it will be delicious! Hard to find traditional kolaches like my grandma used to make, but they are here and all of the flavors...cherry, apricot, poppy seed, cream cheese...you get the picture!! The restrooms are super clean and a fun throw back in time!! Huge dancefloor and plenty of tables! Everyone that works there are very welcoming. Take a road trip and enjoy the scenery and have some fun dancing to some polka music!!
