The wife of the owner was serving us and she was very pleasant and talked us up for a good hour which was great. Very cute and personal winery with about 10 wines to try that were excellent. The only one that I didn't love was one meant for steaks and literally tasted like Worcestershire sauce. In any case, great little winery with a classy indoor seating area where the football games are always on.

We entered the tasting room to discover that the pourer is the owner and winemaker. We did the "Do it my Way" tasting and let the owner guide us through all the wines he was offering for sale. I found all the wines too sweet for my tastes. Not that it mattered to him as he claimed he basically sold all the wine he makes through the winery sales room. We did buy a bottle of his St Vincent as a gift for a couple that prefers a lighter, sweeter taste to their wines (think a robust rose).

The accommodations were updated and very clean, with lots of thoughtful details regarding accommodations for people who may need Them. We ate in the dining hall a couple of times and the food was great. There is a bit of a walk to the dining hall, but the camp provided a shuttle for people who needed that. The common spaces are great for reading, relaxing, and good conversation. Nice furniture and a cozy atmosphere. They also had a great set up out back for a fire pit with many Adirondack chairs. The surrounding area is perfect for long walks or hikes. We went in the fall and it was picturesque!

Went here for a retreat with my residency class. We were there to do the high ropes course. The staff that was there to assist was suepr fun and engaging. The were very motivational. There was also nice cool water waiting for us at the resting points. It's a great activity for any group that wants to learn more about each other and trust each other as well. Great experience!

This appears to be the only motel in town. So if you're exhausted and it's bed time you don't have…read moremuch of a choice. That can be a scary deal. Often places will take advantage of the situation and maintain a motel at a level just barely above what people will accept. They'll endure a reputation as a fleabag place and keep all the money they might have spent on repairs and upkeep as profit. The glorious news is that the folks that run the Rose Motel refuse to do business that way. I walked into the office at 11 or midnight and was greeted by a cheerful attendant. I asked if being a AAA member or paying in cash might lower the price and she dropped the price $5 to $56 out the door. I opened the door to my room and was delighted to see a pristinely clean room that smelled faintly of flowers. The floor was in good shape. The bed was in good shape. The furniture looked brand new! I had left myself to the mercy of fate and had somehow stumbled on to this beautiful motel. I was floored!! The only improvement I can see is the wifi. I couldn't get any. But that meant that I wasn't distracted and could more fully appreciate what a wonderfully well maintained place this was.
