I enjoy coming here for my groceries. Produce section could be improved i usually do my produce shopping elsewhere because I'm picky and eat paleo so my produce is 50% of my cart. Anyways compared to other grocery stores it more affordable. Tax free. . they do have a deli and bakery which is a bit hidden towards the checkout. Customer service is fine only needed it at checkout and i have no complaints. sometimes things can be out of stock and its annoying when its about 4 times in a row. read more

The prices here are by far the best in the area. I've seen cheese and yogurt for twice as much at Wal Mart. Overall the workers are really friendly and things are usually well stocked. I love the little bargain area by the sushi, I get canned goods there first. The fresh sushi is really pretty good. All of the things I've tried from the bakery have been so so. The cheesecake was terrible. I am especially loving all of the new organic products they are offering! Their selection has gone way up since I've moved here. My only real complaint is that the produce there goes bad very very quickly, so only buy what you plan to use within a couple of days. Also their organic produce is nothing special. read more

I do most of my grocery shopping here since it's so close to home. The food selection is pretty good. I can find almost anything I use on a day to day basis. However, I have a love/hate relationship with this place. It always seems to be busy and the aisles seem close together. I usually need a drink once I'm done my shopping trip from dealing with so many people. Usually the best times to go are right at 8 when they open. The parking lot is usually packed but if you're willing to walk a little farther you can park away from others. The employees are usually pretty friendly and helpful which is nice. read more

Do as much shopping as we can here. Prices are great in everything but the produce. I shop for that elsewhere because I get more bang for my buck! Everyone who works here is awesome. Great place to shop specially if your military no taxis make sure you have a government ID to be able to check out prices are fair vegetables and fruits are a little pricey but have an awesome sushi section and make your sushi upon request as well you have an awesome sub section they make them upon request for more better in people that been going to the commissary longer there's a clearance section right next to the sushi section and behind the tortillas it's pretty hurt them but they always have good deals specially on sippy cups and everything else is good you have baggers that also take your stuff to the carthey work for tips so be kind and tip them blinds can get pretty long between 11am to 12 and on payday that is the first and the 15th of the month overall a good place in convenience to be live on base read more

BLUF stay away on paydays (1st and 15th of the month) I only go here when i'm in the area and want to save on tax and meat prices. i've been going to this place on and off for over 10 years, and have noticed a huge decline in overall appearance and care for the store. Just because you have a guarenteed customer base, does not mean you don't have to keep up the cleanliness of the store. Just last week, my wife and I went to pick up a few things, and from the parking lot all the way through the check out line, there seemed to be little bits of trash on the floor. many of the ailes needed to be mopped, and some of the shevles were in need of organizing. One thing that bothers me the most, is that the management do not enforce a dress code in this place at all. there was a time where you had to dress to a certain standard and look presentable, not shop for food while in your morning pajamas, or in shorts that are so short that my daugther asks me "why is that girl wearing a swimsuit in the store?" Recommendations; clean up the store, and manage the people that are walking through your doors. read more

If you are military, ex-military, or married to someone who is, this is the way to go for most of your grocery shopping, if you live around Camp Pendleton. The staff is friendly and helpful and their selection is very expansive. They have conventional grocery items obviously, but they also have organic options as well. They have plenty of meat options, but they even have vegetarian and vegan options as well. If you are hungry and want to get something too eat ready too go, their deli is a great option with plenty of choices and for a good price. Price wise, it is what you would expect from a commissary. Plus they price match if I remember correctly. To top it all of the store itself is clean and the quality of the food is better than most chain grocery stores. Bottom line, if you have the option there is no reason not to take advantage of it. read more

When compared to local grocers, commissary prices can't be beat. This commissary is a bit smaller compared to other ones I've been to. The aisles also seem pretty small. I'm always getting stuck in shopping cart traffic even when the store isn't packed. Employees are so-so, I've had encounters with the best and the worst of them. read more

This is where I do about 90% of my grocery shopping. They have just about everything you need and it's usually very clean and organized. The only food I don't buy here is steak. I shop here about once a week and get everything I need. There can be a few cashiers that are rude, but I just avoid their line. I'm giving it three stars because I've never seen a grocery store waste more bags. I always find multiple bags with one item in them, and not things that are typically separate like chicken and cleaning supplies. Maybe the naggers need some better training. My wife and I want to say Thank You to all the great staff at the CPC. My wife and I visited yesterday, from the moment we entered the commissary the store is bright and clean, easy to navigate through the produce department. The large signs on every row helps a lot to help you find what your looking for. My wife and I got to the meat department and we were looking for a specific meat to make shredded beef, after looking at about three different meats we didn't really know which meat was the right meat for shredding. I asked the butcher and helped us find the right meat for making shredded beef. My wife and I would like for Mr. Percell to be recognized for his professionalism and expertise and knowledge in the meat department. Thank You for your quality of customer service Mr. Percell. My wife and I continued shopping finished and ready to check out. A gentleman is at the cashier lanes making sure everyone is being provided with the next cashier, didn't get the gentleman's name but he really makes the check out process run smoothly. We got to our cashier Daniel and helped my wife and I to organize our groceries so they would not fall over, Thank You Daniel for your quality of customer service you provided us yesterday. I've been shopping here since 2007. I NEVER used to buy produce here for years till just maybe this year. The produce quality has improved by leaps & bounds but still cost quite a bit more than a couple of the markets out in town. But I def buy our staples here. Most of the clerks are really nice & the store is clean which is a plus. The one thing that really annoys me tho is that they have things like chocolate cookies & snacks sitting in the sun for who knows how long at the entrance. Who does that? read more

I have no complaints about the commissary. If you are privileged enough to shop here you are absolutely saving money on groceries. If you are eligible to shop here and you don't you must either have tons of money to waste or perhaps to lazy to take the time. I like their pricing... however, that comes at a cost. They use vendors for most of their items on the shelf... which I have spoken to several Managers and supervisors about because often times I have picked something from the shelf to look at the expiration date and it was expired days ago, in one particular case a box of cookies (Mrs. Fields) was expired by more than 5 months! The managers have stated that some items are only stocked by vendors... if they don't come rotate the food, it sits there. I told them that's a hazard to peoples health because if they don't pay attention they are buying and consuming expired food! They shrugged it off. So this review is to let you guys know to always look at the expiration date before buying anything. A few items that I have seen expired; Mrs. Fields cookies (by months!!) Sausages (I can't remember the brand but it was nearly 1 month expired) Dairy products The fruits and veggies are ok... but don't last too long after buying them. I also feel they should increase their organic/ NON-GMO choices when it comes to Produce. =) read more

Rudest cashiers ever. Big hassle if you have coupons. They act like you are a liar and thief trying to pull something over if presenting coupons for items. No managers available when you have a complaint and this is first thing @0900 hrs. Why block the isles with stocking shelves in busy times people get in a cart traffic jam. Check expiration dates on items as some are expired and still on shelves ie vitamins and fresh produce in containers back by the salads. Why not open at 0800 hrs like the MCX.
