However, we were VERY disappointed in two things: 1) The cabins are old and unkept. We had a hole in the wall near the front door and daylight showing under the front door. The entire cabin was filled with ants. They were on the floor, walls, and ceiling. Every hour I was running around squashing ants. We had to hang everything on hooks/hangers or leave it in the car. Water leaked from underneath the tile in front of the shower. The staff said the State has the money to renovate, but they keep delaying it. So sad to lose customers because they won't spend the money to update it. 2) The pet fee is $40 per day per pet. We had 2 dogs totaling 22 pounds. There was NO extra work on behalf of the staff after we left. Most place charge a deposit that is refundable if there is no damage. They should review their pet policy and consider reducing or eliminating the fee and instead having a refundable deposit. With $80/night for the dogs and $110+ for the cabin, we could have stayed in a nice VRBO home with a fenced backyard and without bugs.

Apparently, the powers that be have figured out that they can make more money off day users by charging $10 / day for a parking permit. Our pass was included with our cabin. Our cabin had many creature comforts. Air conditioning, cold but too loud to sleep with (cycling on and off every few minutes), cable tv, full size fridge, cooktop and microwave. Choice of 1 big bed or 2 little ones. Nice bathroom, too. Towels and bedding are provided and daily cleaning is offered, but we declined and lived in our own squalor, lol. Due to the corona bug, the pots, plates, utensils, etc. were no longer provided. Not sure why these things couldn't have been left with a suggestion that we wash them before using them. Fortunately, we have a camp box with those items, ready to travel. Outside, we had a picnic table, a bbq grill and a fire ring. The grill was about what you expect at a public p k-9ark, with wide gaps and it was really nasty, so I grilled our burgers on a sheet of aluminum foil. Yum! We also brought firewood with us, but there are places nearby where you can buy some. I also brought a smudge pot with citronella scented oil in case the mosquitoes were a problem, but there were only a few of those pests. There are plenty of places to explore in the park and the beautiful lake to enjoy. Break out of your seclusion and reep the benefits of this safe spot to recharge your batteries.

I am an athlete and offer you should not go if you are not physically capable. Injured? Don't go. Also, if you are a group or have children, let others pass you as you will slow them down. Staff are not on the course. Do not expect them to come help you. Be self sufficient. Set reasonable expectations for yourself. And don't worry about what other people think. Hydrate. This is physical exercise. And have fun! This is fun! Be free with yourself and your companions. Laugh! Connect with nature. Enjoy challenging yourself. Try something new. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Staff are inconsistent and so is the upkeep. For example on today's visit one of the ropes was broken but I was allowed to use the obstacle anyway. That seemed very unsafe to me. The locks are malfunctioning etc. But overall we enjoy coming out and will continue to do so.

I am not scared of heights but I was terrified. That first tree crossing is scary but after that, it got better, not easier, just better. Our trainer and guide was great. You are in a harness the entire time so you aren't going to fall to the ground or anything! The entire experience took almost two hours. 2 out of 4 of us would do it again! The 2 that wouldn't do it again lived it but we're a bit scared.

If you are an above average fan, the price tag and amount of outdoor walking likely won't deter you. If you are just looking for something different but haven't seen at least 3 of the movies, I would be tempted to pass. We were lucky and had perfect weather for the 1-1.5 trail. I noticed that they had a small coat check but we kept our jackets just in case. The trees significantly reduce the wind so people were shedding jackets and wishing we brought a wagon to carry them and bottled waters. Saturday night ran us $72 for adults, $57 for kids, $5 for parking, $7-8 hot chocolates and $8-13 cake pops. Shortly upon entering, I sensed that the price tag wasn't going to justify the experience for some of our group. We had a former superfan, about 3 years from the height of her obsession. She enjoyed it the most but still thought the price and distance could have been reduced. Follow the concrete trail and you'll enjoy some scenes from the movie along with a few audio snippets. The lights are well done and the few interactive stops were the most appreciated by our youngest fans. At these stations, there are a few wands to use for the wand dual or casting a spell. It isn't scary and kids and older people seemed to do fine strolling the path in the dark. The staff spaced groups out so you aren't shoulder to shoulder. Maybe a 10-15 min light for picture opportunities and then move on to the next. The end drops you at snack and drink pit stop, roast some huge marshmallows or hit the merch store and pick up your wand, starting at $45. It was a very chill crowd at our 7pm entry. We were a few minutes late but luckily it didn't matter. Eventually we got our drinks situation settled and begin our tour. We saw the stag and stopped a few minutes later due to a line. The group is let in and a staffer reviews your journey. Overall it was enjoyable. You will feel slightly rushed through the interactive stations as everyone wants to get a picture or take a turn. Hang back towards the end of the group if you suspect you'll need additional time. The curvy paths aren't super wide so skip the giant wagons/strollers.
