There looks to be some sort of 'ship' for their imagination as well as several slides and merry go rounds and everything to keep the little ones busy. Going around this park, is a walking trail. It's not too long, its not too short. It's just right. You can leisurely stroll around the entire park, taking a break to watch the kiddies or...and this is the best part, watch the pooches. Among it's perfection, this park has three, VERY large dog parks. Two for the biggies (they need the room) and one GINORMOUS park for the Lil Napoleons (ever meet a small dog that didn't have a Napoleon complex?) This dog park is so big that after throwing the ball for 30 minutes, my very energetic poodle came up to me panting heavily & I swear I could hear "Uncle" as he dropped the ball & walked away. The grounds inside the dog parks are kept beautifully. There is a volunteer who faithfully cleans out the water bowls, picks up anything that parents left behind, supplies balls to all of the parks & for a bonus will even snuggle any pet needing a confidence boost. I am very hesitant in writing this review because if word spreads too far & fast, then everyone will want to come here & there will be a line. There are very friendly owners that come to this park, all different breeds. One day it will be all poodles, doodles, chichipoos, doxies...you just never know who you will meet!

I am going to visit as many as I can before I move next month. That is my last parting gift to Suffolk.** Neighborhood Park #2 out of 14 I had no idea that Cypress Park and Pool (CPP) even existed. CPP is located close to John F. Kennedy Middle School but tucked away off Hollywood Avenue. The only public pool in Suffolk was opened in 2011 by Parks and Recreation. According to the city's website, CPP has 30.6-acres, which is quite large for a neighborhood park. I'm thinking part of it must be included in the walking trail that goes into the woods. *Basketball court *Horseshoe pits *2 Picnic Shelters *Grills *Walking Trail *Playground *Lots of open, grassy fields *Restrooms *Outdoor Swimming Pool *Swim lessons *Party rentals (call for more info: 514-7250) When I arrived at CPP around 10 a.m. on a weekday, there was not one person there. Because it was empty and the trail looked hidden, I did not check out it by myself.

It is tucked back off of George Washington Memorial Highway. Please be mindful of your speed. There are a few walking paths, and sporadic exercise equipment. I think I saw a playground in the background. But, I did not explore it. There is a wonderful community garden for York County residents. The gardens were clean and neat! I loved seeing the gardens and all the growth there already is. The snack bar was open which I was so happy about because it was time for dinner. I could not pass up the typical food offered at sports event. I got a hotdog, water ice, pretzel and nachos. Everything was great. There were two employees/volunteers and they were so much fun! They helped us a lot choose what to eat and gave great feedback.

It is a very nice waterside park with a large playground area for kids, a covered picnic area and of course the area with a walkway along the water with a few covered gazebo areas. There is substantial parking and lots of places to sit. We did not use the restroom facilities but nice to know they are there.

Our "Welcome" to the park was some guy pulling up beside us and yelling: "Where the hell do you think you are going?... Not a good 'first impression"... Shortly there after, a young lady showed up and apologized for the guy's "rude" behavior"... Then another man showed up to help us to our campsite... Things took an upturn from there and we ended up having a very pleasant stay. After all this, the campground turned out to be pretty nice and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our site was right on the edge of the bay and very roomy. The amenities were fantastic, the camp store was well maintained; the campsite facilities functioned as they should. We would highly recommend this campground to anyone wishing to have an enjoyable weekend. A good place for kids to play and getting plenty of exercise. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone at Gloucester Point in a Travel Trailer.

They have an app you download upon arrival which gives you times of all of their events for the day. They provide awesome activities throughout the day and night. They have a petting zoo, watch out the alpacas will spit on you . Pony rides are offered. We loved the water park. Paddle boats and kayaks available also, unfortunately the weather on our last day shut down that option due to possible thunderstorms. Friendly staff!!! Out water heater went out and staff came immediately and fixed a part for us!
