We went by there unannounced to check it out, and we were given a tour on the spot, and their process was completely explained to us, and they answered every question we asked without any hesitation. This impressed us. We first took our older pups for a daycare play day, and they loved it. It went very well. We then boarded all 3 of our pups for a weekend, and all went great. We have met many of the people that work there, and they are all so nice and pleasant. You can tell they really care about the pets they care for. Our pups have all been back for daycare since, and will go back more in the future. They get so excited when we take them. We completely trust them with our fur babies, and know that our babies are receiving great care. I highly recommend them.

After getting to the car, I noticed blood on the seat and that he was licking his paw and unusually quiet. I took him back inside immediately, and they applied powder and said they "probably cut the quick." Accidents can happen, but what was upsetting was that this was not disclosed at pickup. There was a significant amount of blood, and I had to discover it myself after leaving. Transparency is important when it comes to our pets. Additionally, we were not happy with the haircut, as it appeared uneven and not what we expected. We hope they improve communication with pet owners in the future.

I spoke to Jenny at lengths on the phone when I made the initial appointment to obtain pricing and what care package would best suit our needs. We arrived the next day for our appointment - the facility is nice and clean! We were taken to a room by Monica who had quite a bit of knowledge and suggestions for flea/tick prevention, etc. Then we got to meet with Dr. Caruso who we absolutely adore! She has excellent bedside manner, took the time to listen and provide her feedback/suggestions based on the needs of our pups. She suggested that we do a courtesy dental check in 6 months as it just wasn't necessary to spend all kinds of money for dental cleanings at this time - our pups are getting older and we don't want to unnecessarily put them under for a cleaning, if it's not necessary...we appreciated Dr. Caruso's guidance and expertise - she genuinely cares and wouldn't suggest something that isn't necessary just to make a quick buck. She has integrity and high ethical standards. One of my pups has a known vaccine reaction so he always has to be pre-medicated. Dr. Caruso shared that most small dogs react to lepto, so did not get him vaccinated for that nor did we pre-medicate him. Unfortunately, my pup did react, so we discovered it was likely the rabies vaccination since he was not vaccinated for lepto. My pup was taken back and treated with a round of antihistamines and steroids - Dr. Caruso was very kind to comp those two injections. Our pups have "alerts" on their accounts now so that the RTAH staff know what allergies and special instructions to follow when our pups are seen - Monica even showed us the alerts so we were comfortable about the notes listed. We talked about switching dog food and Dr. Caruso walked out into the lobby, showed me the dog food and even grabbed the bag of dog food and carried to our exam room for us. The next day, Dr. Caruso called to check on the pups and also to provide us with fecal/blood work results. She told us to call if we even needed anything. Quite frankly, coming from a family of veterinarians, I'm extremely picky, with high standards and expectations when it comes to the care of my pets. Dr. Caruso and the gals at RTAH we're stellar - we will definitely be back and look forward to continuing a relationship with RTAH!

I would NOT recommend taking a pet that you love to this place. First of all, the appearance on the…read moreoutside is not very appealing and neither is it the inside. There was feces around the main area and all the dogs run free with each other big and small and that makes it difficult to even get in the front door! Once you do get in, the dogs are jumping up all around you. The staff seems to be very unorganized. When I came to pick up my dogs, they had lost one of our leashes and didn't even offer to compensate us for a new one. Instead when I asked the worker how they were going to rectify the situation, she offered me someone else's leash! I'm sure that's how they "lost" ours by giving it to someone else. They also told us that our dogs didn't have very much food left and gave us the bag. Later that evening when I went to feed the dogs I discovered that they put someone else's dog food in my dogs' food bag! As if I'm an idiot and don't know what my dogs' food looks like! Very unsanitary and unorganized.

We are currently on our way to the emergency vet, as this has become worse and more infected the last few days. They failed to notify us of any wounds or change in behavior, and if there was some sort of altercation with another dog and a puncture wound - they failed to tell us all together. It's so unfortunate that it has come to having to take further steps and get him to the vet for this. When we just spoke on the phone, we were told the manager was not around. She asked us "No one told you?" but didn't elaborate on this. Hopefully the vet can fix this quickly, but this is such a hazard and so dangerous to trust someone to your pet who doesn't even notice the tiniest changes in behavior. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to take the risk of a place not really knowing what you're getting, or who is actually doing what they're paid to. Horrifying.
