Paws on Pearl is very professional. I take my 14 week old puppy to day care weekly. I purchased a pack of 1/2 day passes to play and they are worth every penny. With convenient hours 7A-8P, my pup comes home throughly exhausted. If I needed to have her watched overnight I would trust Paws on Pearl. The first day was on the house as a trial for me! Just another Pearl I've found! I've taken my 11-month-old Mini Poodle here for about the last seven months for grooming and some playtime. Stella does an A-1 job with his curly cut and nails. He obviously enjoys his play dates because he recognizes when we pull into the parking lot it's going to be a fun time. I appreciate the pricing and the attention he is given. They even know his name when he comes in the door. That could be a good thing or an oh-oh! He can be a lot. LOL read more

I am LIVID about the groom I just received as a first time customer. I have a standard poodle, and this is THE WORST GROOM we've had. Before booking several weeks ago, I called to ask if there were any groomers who specialized in poodle coats. I was assured that ALL groomers were trained to cut poodle styles/coats. I brought in a very simple, even trimmed long coat photo as inspiration for the cut I was going for. Of course, I understand a little variation from an inspo pic is to be expected. Imagine my HORROR when I pick up my dog with SHAVED ears, a completely jacked up SHORT top knot, feet with razor burn in some areas, yet untrimmed in others, long nails, and a misshapen tail?!?!? Since when does a poodle tail have a fade? It's all very confusing and my dog looks absolutely ridiculous all over. Like, NO redeeming factors to the technique or style anywhere. I provided a print out with basic bullet points as well as a photo to ensure communication was clear, and verified the look with the receptionist. The groomer came out to apologize when finding out I was not happy, and she refused to take responsibility, blaming everything else - "yeah I saw the picture but he looked like he should have short ears" WHAT?! I said "but on the paper it said to not cut the ears or top knot, just an all over even trim" She replies "well I didn't see that." I'm soooooo upset!!! It took MONTHS to grow my dog's coat out, and hours of at-home care to ensure a proper long-coated groom. Not only is it the wrong cut, but it looks absolutely RIDICULOUS! Poodles should never have their top knot SHAVED above the eyes. Not only is it the wrong cut, but what they did to my dog isn't a cut at all. Tufts of hair sticking out everywhere, jagged, just BAD BAD BAD. The ONE star is for the receptionist who did everything she could to fix what was left of the situation. They did refund my money, but that doesn't undo the damage of the cut and time it's going to take to get my dog back to looking normal. I did schedule with another groomer a couple months out in hopes to update my review in the future. read more

Paws on Pearl was not a good fit for my mini Australian Shepherd and their little dog daycare. The primary reason I take my dog to daycare is because he has separation anxiety and I don't want to leave him at home alone while I'm at work. The little dog daycare does not have an employee in the room with them and they just close the doors and occasionally check on the dogs. I watched my dog bark his head off on the cameras each time the staff left the room and it defeated the purpose of daycare for him. Not to mention, the safety concerns that poses as well. The staff was nice and Paws on Pearl might be a good fit for other dogs, but I wasn't impressed with their attention to the little dogs. read more

Please do not let your pet stay here, this place needs to be shut down. Just boarded my dog (1.5 years old) there this past weekend and he has since gotten incredibly ill. I've had multiple dogs and been around old and young ones who are sick and I've never seen a dog with a worse cough and fever before. He is up to date with all his shots and should be safe from kennel cough but this is more than just kennel cough. This morning he was coughing up blood. It sounds like he's got a terrible smokers cough. The vet suspects dog flu or a bacterial infection. I have strong reason to believe it's because of the neglect of the employees to thoroughly maintain that the other dogs are up to date on shots and because of the negligent caretaking of the dogs, as well: My dog has been overnight boarded twice here now. My first gripe with them was that the dogs are put all in a big room together at night, you can see with the cameras. I watched the live feed before I went to bed and noticed that big overheard lights in the room were not turned off until 11 pm. The other thing that made me feel uneasy is that none of the dogs had a place to sleep except the floor, so it's not like they were sleeping through the night either. They were all just milling around til almost midnight in this bright room and then just had to sleep on the hard floor. I didn't know these were the conditions when I brought him there the first time. Nevertheless, I took him there again last weekend because it's cheap and they already had all of his info. But now he's incredibly sick after staying there and I'm extremely concerned about his health. I would strongly urge you to not bring your dogs or pets here to be boarded because even with mine being fully vaccinated and up to date, he's somehow still caught this nasty virus from this place. It's been 6 days of symptoms now and 3 days of medication (vets were closed for thanksgiving) and his symptoms have shown no sign of improvement. Now I'm worried to leave him at home alone when I go to work and I'm sure the vet bills will start piling up, as well. Something should be done about this place and if you don't already know - they've been in some trouble a couple years ago when one of their ex-employees was throwing dogs around like rag dolls on camera. The footage was so bad it made the news! I gave them the benefit of the doubt and boarded anyway, but I am now seriously regretting that decision. I would not be writing this post if I didn't feel very strongly about this and if my dog wasn't as sick as he is. I get kennel cough, not a huge deal, but this is way worse. Vets could only do so much and I couldn't pay to have him tested for $300 additional cost on top of the $250 in meds. BOARD SOMEWHERE ELSE PLEASE. read more

I knew it would be a bad experience when I was greeted by the pilled out receptionist who was shaking and sweating all over the place. Turns out she's also the manager. I was rushed thru the process and my questions were very vaguely answered. She literally talked to me in circles. When I popped my head back in the door to get the password she was in the phone complaining about her job and how she didn't want to be there because customers wouldn't stop coming in. Parking is nil. When I was watching my dog in daycare I saw a small child in the middle of it all. My dog doesn't like children. When I called no one answered the phone for several tries. I called my wife and she picked our dog up. Y'all were highly recommended by our neighbor but now even they won't be going back. On top of everything else my dog came home with fleas. Lazy management. Bad customer service. And a front person on drugs. I shouldn't have been surprised that the kennels might be nasty as well. Needless to say we will not be back! read more

The owner is very sweet, but the business does not have the equipment or sufficient staff to handle what I asked of them. Might be good for smaller dogs. My pet is a short haired female GSD 9 months old that weighs between 65-70 pounds. She is not afraid of or aggressive towards strangers. She is a bit frightened by hairdryers and other aspects of grooming. I paid $45 for bath, facial, and a bit of fur treatment and then another $12 for grinding her claws. I actually had to hold my pet in a headlock while the grinding was completed. read more

The business owner he's denying that he didn't see any problems with my dog body even there are scratches. He didn't say sorry to my dog, that hurt me. The following was not great his attitude was the worst when I asked for my money left in my dog 10 day package. " I'll refund you in CASH" I don't know why he had to say that to me and then he threw the money at me as well. I picked up my dog Hunter after boarding him there for the last time. He came out wet, he was limping, and he was exhibiting behaviors I have NEVER seen before...he was hiding, he wouldn't sit but only lie down, he was panting even inside. It is true, he has developed a habit of humping other dogs, which I am working on correcting. He was seriously anxious to leave there, and I have no idea what they do to dogs there, but it can't be good if it removes the sweetness and happiness of my dog and replaces it with fear and anxiety. We absolutely love this place! Our dogs get super pumped each time they get to the parking lot and they are always really well taken care of. One of our dogs was acting kind of distant and not eating one visit and they called to check in on him and let us know what was going on. I'm really disappointed to have to write this. Usually, Paws on Pearl does a pretty good job. Today, I had a long conversation at drop off about what kind of cut I wanted. My schnauzer gets different cuts depending on the time of year and the condition of his coat. (He has very fine hair, not coarse like most of his breed) I asked him to be kept long, but to trim his back (5") so that he had the "skirt" outline and then trim up his paws and and a schnauzer cut on his face. What I got back was a full shave... no skirt...and a sloppy schnauzer cut face. That's a (7") all over. I paid before I saw him and gave a tip. When I got him, I was surprised and asked if something had happened and everyone just seemed confused. Apparently, they hadn't changed his paperwork to reflect the new request. Last time he had been shaved over the summer, so they just did the last thing I had gotten done. It's below freezing today. I specifically had the conversation talking about how cold he gets in the winter and why I wanted to keep him longer than a typical schnauzer cut. Now I have to put my dog in sweaters that he doesn't like, because on the coldest day of the year he was shaved. I paid nearly 60 dollars for my dog to not only have a full day uncomfortable at the groomer... but now to be uncomfortable for the next 3 months. (That's how long it took for him to grow out last time). I've been going here for the last few years and usually if there is a question or anything, someone calls me. I know mistakes happen, but this is just really frustrating when I had a conversation that reassured me the request was understood. read more

I took my dog in on the 1st of October for a basic grooming. Staff was friendly and everything seemed on point however he came back with fleas and an ear infection. Which unfortunately I didn't become aware of till taking him home. On Yelp it appears that most of their reviews have been positive, and the negative reviews tend to relate to mishaps with grooming, but this is a serious concern for any potential customer. Needless to say, fleas, even though my doggo's on flea and tick meds, and an infected ear are both costly and frustrating to deal with. Since going to paws on pearl, I happened upon a few google reviews, as well as stories from neighbors and a friend who is a vet, all of whom have mentioned that fleas, kennel cough, and other health issues associated with unsanitary kennels are common issues at paws on pearl. It does smell pretty strongly of urine when you enter the building, but in reality that's just what any place with multiple dogs would smell like, even if it does not inspire confidence. While I don't necessarily want to tell other pet owners to avoid Paws on Pearl, there are other, more affordable locally owned dog groomers in Tulsa and I personally will never take my dog back there ever again. read more

I left my dog here for a grooming. While the groomer was professional and nice and my dog was cleanly shaven, the staff was horrendous. I asked for my dog to be crated as my brothers dog no longer attends this doggy daycare due to the consistent kennel cough. When I went to pick him up, he was with all the other dogs. He seemed to have a good time so that isn't even the reason I'm upset (even though the staff blatantly disregarded my request), the largest reason is that I dropped him off at 930 am for a grooming that would take 2-4 hours max. and I NEVER received a phone call. Turns out the morning staff went home and FORGOT about my dog and so the afternoon staff just let him roam around until I came to pick him up at 4 pm, which is when I finally said screw it because I hadn't gotten a call and there's no way on God's green earth a grooming takes that long. So yes, after all of that, I'd say one star is generous. read more

I have been using Paws for daycare, grooming, and boarding since they opened. I'm writing this review because while I feel somewhat (like 3 star) confident about recommending their daycare I would not recommend boarding. They do not appear to have a solid incident reporting or logging system for injuries sustained during boarding. What?! My experience is this: My dog sustained a half-inch deep puncture sometime during a 5 day boarding session. When I picked her up I was told that she had gotten a "little puncture" that it was essentially no big deal and that they personally wouldn't see a vet for treatment. When I bathed and closely inspected my dog the following day (travel is tiring y'all) I realized that it was not just a "little puncture" but a stinking, festering, deep hole (like a lot of a q-tip disappeared into it) in my baby's back. I understand these things happen. I get it- I do. But you absolutely do not downplay or minimize the injury. You absolutely do not send your client off without an incident report detailing when the wound was noticed, and what you've used to treat it. You absolutely do not NOT notify your client when their baby is hurt and just casually mention it to them when they pick their dog up after being boarded for 5 days. I wrote the owner, who apologized and said she would look into it and get back to me but that was DAYS ago. At this point it is clear to me that I'm not important enough a client to be given a thorough explanation of what happened to my dog as requested. Paws on Pearl totally failed me as a client. I'll be taking my girls to Pooches instead as they do have a solid policy in place for recording injuries and client notification. read more

My dogs love Paws on Pearl! The facility is clean and the staff is great. My dogs have gone to daycare several times and they seem happy and worn out when I pick them up. Additionally, I buy all my dog food and treats there. They don't participate in any food loyalty rewards programs (which is why they get 4 out of 5 stars) but they're looking into it. Good place.
