I was trying to spay some strays that that picked us! Geez so much for controlling the pet population! I walked out feeling completely scammed not to mention they intentionally make you wait forever at the counter and in the office! 0 out 5 stars! Shame on them ! to respond to me with complete lies is beyond I never said go to hell and my car isn't pregnant! Unbelievable

My accusations have been substantiated personally. Firstly, she will up charge, for example, her clinic suggested I go with the more expensive allergy medication on a monthly basis, when in fact there was a less expensive option approximately $100 less. Furthermore, I was able to verify that it was not necessarily needed monthly depending on the severity of my pets allergies. In other words, if my pets allergies did not return, there was no need to continue getting monthly treatments, although, I would receive monthly notifications that my pet needed more shots. In addition, Dr. Pfeiffer was verbally deceitful directly in conversation with me personally, in which her claims were proven to be untrue and in which she knew firsthand. In fact, the outright deception was of her making. Dr. Pfeiffer brings shame to this medical field. Although I cannot prove it, I would imagine the majority of veterinarians do not operate their business at such low standards. I will NEVER darken DR. Pfeiffer's doorway EVER AGAIN and in fact, I would not suggest Dr. Pfeiffer to my WORST enemy. In closing, the primary purpose of this review is to encourage others to ensure the veterinarians treating their pets are indeed ethical, and have your pets best interest at heart. I'm sure those reading this can agree when I say my pets are my children and their medical care is of the utmost importance to me.

We recently moved to South Tulsa and needed to find a new vet clinic for our pups. With the…read moreconvenience of RTAH being within minutes of our neighborhood, we decided to give them a shot. I spoke to Jenny at lengths on the phone when I made the initial appointment to obtain pricing and what care package would best suit our needs. We arrived the next day for our appointment - the facility is nice and clean! We were taken to a room by Monica who had quite a bit of knowledge and suggestions for flea/tick prevention, etc. Then we got to meet with Dr. Caruso who we absolutely adore! She has excellent bedside manner, took the time to listen and provide her feedback/suggestions based on the needs of our pups. She suggested that we do a courtesy dental check in 6 months as it just wasn't necessary to spend all kinds of money for dental cleanings at this time - our pups are getting older and we don't want to unnecessarily put them under for a cleaning, if it's not necessary...we appreciated Dr. Caruso's guidance and expertise - she genuinely cares and wouldn't suggest something that isn't necessary just to make a quick buck. She has integrity and high ethical standards. One of my pups has a known vaccine reaction so he always has to be pre-medicated. Dr. Caruso shared that most small dogs react to lepto, so did not get him vaccinated for that nor did we pre-medicate him. Unfortunately, my pup did react, so we discovered it was likely the rabies vaccination since he was not vaccinated for lepto. My pup was taken back and treated with a round of antihistamines and steroids - Dr. Caruso was very kind to comp those two injections. Our pups have "alerts" on their accounts now so that the RTAH staff know what allergies and special instructions to follow when our pups are seen - Monica even showed us the alerts so we were comfortable about the notes listed. We talked about switching dog food and Dr. Caruso walked out into the lobby, showed me the dog food and even grabbed the bag of dog food and carried to our exam room for us. The next day, Dr. Caruso called to check on the pups and also to provide us with fecal/blood work results. She told us to call if we even needed anything. Quite frankly, coming from a family of veterinarians, I'm extremely picky, with high standards and expectations when it comes to the care of my pets. Dr. Caruso and the gals at RTAH we're stellar - we will definitely be back and look forward to continuing a relationship with RTAH!

She listened to our concerns and even watched a small video we took of our dog. She was concerned and recommended we get an X-ray if we wanted. She was not pushy. She just said we need peace of mind that it's not something else. She was right. Our little guy had bladder stones and one stuck in his urethrae. She called in the surgeon, Dr. Don Schmidt. He rearranged his schedule and got our boy straight in for surgery. We didn't have to take him someplace else or wait another day. That was so nice. He had his appointment at 2pm then surgery shortly afterwards and we had him in our arms by 6:30. I'm so impressed with them. Also, we asked for a refill from a previous vet on some anxiety medicine for him. Dr. Baker was like, no problem. She told us to order it through Chewy since they didn't have it in stock and we needed it quickly for the fireworks coming in a few days. She said she would take care of it on her end and give authorization to Chewy when they called. The only thing I was kind of disappointed about was the tension at the front desk when we checked out. There could have been better customer service there. But overall we were happy with the service and the amount of care from the vets. Update: When we got home a few hours later, our dog was wincing in pain. We gave him some of the meds the doctor gave us but he still winced terribly. We had to take him to the ER and leave him overnight to get a slow drip of pain meds. Update -2 weeks later- Midnight is doing so well. He seems like he has gotten two years knocked off his age. He's getting around like a spring chicken. We went back to get stitches out and the staff was excellent. The front desk staff took time to talk to me about my dogs, and Dr. Baker met with me and discussed what we need to do for Midnight going forward. She wrote it all down for me so I could look over my options. I am very pleased and will return.

My dog had been given a bath, when I picked him up, because the dogs played in mud. (where worms live?) I noticed a bump on his back, but didn't examine it carefully the next day. I called Rivertrail the next morning, and took my dog to his Vet then, to Rivertrail. Dr. Paula A Monroe,DVM, was very much on the defensive. I was told over and over again, that dogs nip. My dog is a jack russell, the bleeding that I washed off him, wasn't caused from a nip. And I saw 2 distinct puncture wounds. When I explained, that I was not even asking them to pay, and the wound was healing fine, Dr Paula A Monroe, DVM became very aggressive, demanding to know what it was I wanted. When I explained I didn't want anything, and tried to explain, they were aggressive about it, she just kept saying I just don't know what you want. Out of sheer frustration, I said , you know I am tired of being attacked about this, I haven't done anything , she got even more upset with me, and demanded that I leave. She accused me of cussing, because in exhaustion and frustration, I said I didn't need the shit. When I stopped at the desk on my way out to try to figure out what to do, she popped out from behind the counter and insisted that I leave and threatened to call the POLICE! I had never raised my voice, she did, and did from the time I got there. I only needed help with my Jack Russell. I needed him to be SAFE, and unfortunately, it seems they cannot assure that at Rivertrail Animal Hospital, as my dogs hide is VERY VERY tough, and he hadn't been chewing on himself AT ALL. He is with me 100% of the time and I would have known. The bleed out on this was dried blood and unfortunately no one saw it but me. Therefore, it didn't happen. I WOULD NEVER take my dog there again, and I would certainly NOT recommend anyone take their dog there. Dr Paula A Monroe, DVM was aggressive, offensive, condescending and unprofessional, the likes of which I have never observed in my life. That is my experience. I never once intimated that I wanted any amount of money, or anything except an assurance, I obviously needed a place to help. I sure didn't need this!
