Then after asking what kind of dog I had and how much she weighed, her tone changed and she told me they weren't accepting any new clients for a few months. We've lived in Tulsa for decades and have always utilized PetSmart as our official groomer. The kids working at PetSmart are nice and respectful, but our unexpected grooming experience at Aurora Kennels/Grooming facility has made us immediate transfer customers. We have a beautiful black Cairn terrier named Milo. He is a handsome, energetic, bundle of curiosity and life. We took a vacation recently and needed to board him. Aurora's policy is to have all dogs bathed on check-in and they must have current vet records showing up to date immunizations. They offer a bath and grooming package for dogs boarding. We took it and wow. For the first time ever we've had people stop and ask what breed of dog Milo is and how cute he was. Everybody in my family on the day of pick up commented about how fantastic he looked and was acting. He strutted around the house and yard like he was a prime stud dog. Tail straight up and head high, as if he knew how he looked. We laughed out loud. The difference? For the first time ever our Cairn was cut perfectly to the AKC Cairn standard. Not like a short haired rat that was being used as a grooming dummy to train novice grooming students. The facility and kennels were very clean. The workers very professional and informative. Great listeners. One employee, Julie, in conjunction with her AKC judge husband, own the number one ranked champion Saluki in the nation. Their dog won Westminister last year I believe. They understand dogs and have worked with them all her life. For compassionate care, communication, cleanliness, thoroughness, and such a pleasant disposition that only Chick-fil-a employees seem to exude in today's service sector, I give Aurora Kennels/Grooming 5 stars without reservation. read more

I've been bringing my dog to Aurora Kennel for over a year now. And while they do a good job grooming him, it is overshadowed by the morale of the facility. Listen to your dogs. My dog absolutely DREADED going to this place. He does hate baths in general.. but he would physically shake and cling to me when we pulled into the parking lot of this place. He never acted that way with his previous groomer. So should've been a red flag. Upon his last visit, I dropped him off and picked him up as usual. On the car ride home, I went to put on his harness and he cried out as if it hurt. That was concerning, since he was not doing that prior to being dropped off. But I was in a rush to get back to work, so I didn't have time to further investigate. Upon returning home from work, I picked him up to greet him. He cried out again, wincing in pain. I immediately reached out to Julie, asking if anything happened while he was with them. She became extremely defensive. Upset that I was "accusing her of doing something to Marley". I explained, I was not accusing her. Just simply wanted to know if they knew of anything happening while he was there. He was fine before I dropped him off, and he is hurt now. So I was concerned as anyone else would've been. Julie was beyond offended. And she eventually explained "Yes, we are not able to watch every dog every minute that they are here, this is true. Anything is possible. He could have caught his foot in the fence, or twisted his leg jumping around, which he LOVES to do, but as far as me deliberately hurting Marley, that would never happen! That is all I can tell you." I accepted this at the time. Since my dog is extremely active. Anything is possible. But this was the simple answer I was requesting originally, before multiple rebuttals due to her being offended and defensive. Following our conversation, I was advised she canceled all of Marley's future appointments. I would not recommend this place. read more

I just picked up my fur baby from Aurora Kennel after a weeks stay, and I wanted to share my experience with their service. When I first contacted Aurora, the nice lady on the phone explained all of their rules on taking new clients. At first I didn't understand all the questions and rules, but now that I've used their services, I completely understand and I am very happy they have all of those rules in place! I have used several kennels around the Tulsa area, and this is the first kennel that my dog was noticeably taken good care of. Not only was he happy and full of energy, Oreo was clean and I could tell they took good care of him. They trimmed his nails and gave him a bath, and he didn't have any smell...no perfume smell, no shampoo smell, he just smelled clean. And then there's the food they fed Oreo. They gave me several free sample bags of the food they fed Oreo and explained why they use that brand of food. There is nothing but quality at Aurora...quality service from their staff, quality care of my baby, quality food and just great all around service. Oreo and I have finally found a "home away from home". I no longer have to worry about him when I leave on a business trip or vacation. Thank you to everyone at Aurora!!! read more

I have taken my pug to aurora for the past 3 years and they do a fabulous job! They are friendly, accommodating and flexible when I make reservations (and adjustments to those schedules) and pug is always so happy and well taken care of when I pick her up. They provide grooming services during the stay and my pug looks and smells great when I pick her up. I would recommend aurora to anyone needing boarding in the Tulsa area and I plan to keep using them for as long as I live here.
