It's very easy to find good meat places in Formentera. Very easy. It's one of the great things about living there. Caminito is one of the best on the entire island, as one would start to get used to if they've ever been to an Argentine BBQ grill. There is a large silhouette photo of Saint Diego (Maradona) outside that lets you know that you're in the right place!
The decor is fantastic. It's really big and has been there for a bit so it still has an old school kind of feel to it, but there is also the pool: this of course gives it a fun vibe during the day and a really nice vibe at night with the pool all lit up. I've been told someone who was born and raised in Formentera that the space that is currently occupied by Caminito used to be the public pool for the entire island. That doesn't seem like nearly enough pool for an island of people, but I'm sure they did alright! I'm guessing now it wouldn't work very well since there are much more people around, but it's just enough for a restaurant. They don't really let people use the pool (that I've seen) unless there's a private event or private party there. Ok....the food....
It's probably within your best interest here to get the steak. Any one will do really: solomillo, entrecote...pick your poison and you can't go wrong. Though I did get a chance to try out the sausages they have here and they are VERY VERY tasty as well, if you are looking to change things up. The provoleta they have as an appetizer is maybe the best I've ever had anywhere on earth...though I haven't had as much provoleta in my life as I would like. If you're more of an expert on provoleta than myself then stop by and have there's and report back. They have these garlic fries that are really good as well, and they give you enough for you to split between two people if you both get steak as a main. The empenadas here are maybe the best starters they have that I've tried. They are perfect. the crust is crumbly and the meat is perfectly executed like the meat you would order here NOT encased in a yummy empenada. I've never had a bad experience at this place and it's great because they take reservations as well. My favorite! Stop by and enjoy this place as much as I do. read more
