Ordered fried oysters and I wanted the fried 'hard'. Also, some fried okra to snack on! Don't let the pictures fool you. There is enough to share. Service was prompt and the wait was not long at all. My oysters were cooked to order and the okra was very good. The place isn't very quiet or loud and there are two tables with 8 total chairs to sit if you want to. Service is great! Everyone is incredibly kind and welcoming. This is really a take out spot so there are just a few seats for customers while they wait for their food. Food: ehhh. Spiced shrimp is great. The lobster bisque and the chowder are also great. The whole steamed crabs are pitiful. Like, really not good. and I've tried them twice to make sure. They are so small, they aren't fresh - they taste like they've been refrigerated a few times before being steamed and/or re-steamed. I would not recommend. That fried seafood platter is everything! Make sure you get it with some hush puppies. It comes with three large pieces of fish, three fried shrimp, three scallops, a handful of jumbo spiced steamed shrimp, crispy delicious fries, coleslaw, and a dinner roll. For the most part, everything I had was on point. The scallops were awesome: large, plump, juicy seasoned well and fried perfectly. Ditto for the fried shrimp. The fish was also well seasoned and perfectly fried, but it had a lot of bones in it, so be careful of that. The spiced shrimp were good too, but they were not deveined, so I had to take that extra step before enjoying them. They also provided a generous portion of fries which were hot and crispy and delicious. The side order of hush puppies was a generous amount. I've live here 14 years and don't know why I never tried this place. I got the fried catfish dinner extra crispy and it was DELICIOUS. The rice was tasteless but who cares. Decided on Cameron's for a Sunday late lunch. Great decision. Social distancing well practiced, called in my order so I stepped into the pickup line. The staff were friendly and quick. The food was really good. My fried Whiting fillets were fried and seasoned perfectly. It's my favorite menu item at Cameron's. The fried shrimp platter my daughter had, and the crab cakes platter were both delicious looking. My mom got the croaker platter and cream of crab soup. All was very tasty. It's not bad, the fish (whatever comes on the platter) just tastes like the water they pulled it out of. I mean no salt, no pepper, NOTHING. It's like water a piece of meaty paper towel. Today, I went to Cameron's in Capitol Heights off Central Avenue and purchased 1 dozen of med female crabs, 1 dozen of med male crabs a long with shrimp. I spent $78.00 on my total order. When I got home, my bag looked a thin so I decided to count my my crabs. I was shorten by two crabs one from each bags. I called and have spoke with the African American heavy set guy to inform him of their mistake and ask if can refund my money because I lived too far from their store he told me no. He told me I was going to have to come back all the way too the store for two crabs. I hung up because it would cost me more money to travel all the way back from where I lived. My medium crabs were all small and tiny. My advice, before leaving Cameron's in Capitol Heights, count your crabs before leaving. I never go back there ever because one, the manager had the audacity to say to me, you telling me she only put 11 crabs in both bags? I stated yes and did not receive my refund for my missing crabs. For me as a consumer, it's all about customer services and correcting their mistakes when it's made on their part. It doesn't matter if it was just two missing crabs, crabs comes in dozens and not 11's. And the fact we drove over an hour to buy crabs because our favorite crab spot Ernie's in Bladensburg was closed and Ruff and Ready didn't have none. Well in this HORRIBLE rainy weather today, I decided I'm not gonna cook. I'll be passing by Cameron's so I'll pick up six large males if they have any. Well they had medium for $40 a doz. The young lady offered to show me some and okay, I looked. They were SMALL, but because of the weather and I wanted crabs, I got six. WHEN I GOT HOME AND BROKE INTO THE FIRST ONE... and the gills were blueish, I put it to the side. Opened another, totally mushy. So I broke all six open and I KNOW THESE CRABS WERE DEAD BEFORE THEY WERE COOKED and not just a few minutes. Makes me think after coming off of a crazy hot weekend, they decide to cook up what's left because my ears should have (well my nose) went up when they were already cooked. My error, never to EVER do that again (even tho that does not guarantee freshness). They sold me six, already really dead, blue dead man finger having, Gulden's mustard having, mushy meat crabs. I can't get that nasty taste out of my mouth and must say, they can NEVER get my business again. I pray I don't get I'll. I will be keeping the bag in the fridge for a day JUST IN CASE. Because it's going with me to the hospital if I do. And no, y'all can't say you don't do this because I've been eating crabs allllllll my 56 years...well give or take birth to three. These were dead. $309.99 dollar worth of crablegs just arrived all broken into pieces not a single cluster intact. 3 out of 4 boxes has bad crablegs tinted brown with black spots all over. I love Cameron seafood they have the best boiled ultimate seafood platter ever and you can request no butter on your vegetables and extra vegetables instead of the rice My one concern is that the broil platter is three dollars more than the fry platter which kind of disturbs me because you have to pay extra just to eat healthy?
