When I tell you Sophia ate down on my manicure and Ring did his big one on my pedicure--I was like thank you, God! It had been about six months since my last mani-pedi. I'd been trying to grow out my toenails after one popped off (ugh), and I wanted everything to grow out evenly. Every time they'd finally hit the same length, one would break badly. I was trying to get that acrylic look using my natural nails, but one of them has been so long and wide that I finally gave in and decided to book an appointment last minute for a trip I was taking. It was around 5 p.m. on a Thursday, and most nail salons close between 6 and 7. I wasn't anywhere near the Valley, but I made my way to Northridge and walked in. I asked if they had time for a gel manicure and pedicure and the receptionist said they could take me in an hour. The place was super busy, probably because it was the day before Good Friday and Easter weekend. I grabbed something to eat nearby and came back at 6. Let me tell you, I'm obsessed with my nails. I got a gel manicure using Funny Bunny, which anyone who knows, knows it's a tricky polish because it's so buildable. Sophia was so patient -- she shaped my nails to perfection and she did four coats and made them look flawless. Ring did my pedicure and absolutely killed it. My toes feel so clean, and even though they're not the length or shape I ideally want yet, he worked with what I had and made them look amazing. I really appreciated the care he put in. The total was about $80 for both, which is pretty standard--but honestly, I don't mind paying that when I leave this happy with the service. This place is clean and the staff is nice. They do a good job but the reason I am giving a 3 star is because I feel like their prices are misleading. I went with my mom - I got a pedicure and she got a gel manicure. They have a menu list of services. I had chose a $46 dollar service but the tech convinced me to upgrade to the $54 dollar pedicure. When I went to pay, my pedicure ended up being $69. They explained that gel polish was an additional $15 at the VERY bottom of the long page it does specify that it is an additional service charge but I assumed that gel polish was included in this "upgraded service." I was not thrilled to pay $69 dollars (tip not included) in what I felt was a basic pedicure. Also- the massage was like 2 min long at most (one of the key descriptions of the upgrade.) read more

DO NOT COME HERE !! i came in on 02/04 and got a pedicure and full set acrylics. Peter did my hands and when he finished he wrote both his and Helen's pricing. He left shortly after. Helen was finishing up my pedicure and as I was scrolling on my phone I noticed from the corner of my eye that Helen was changing the price. She hesitated changing Peter's too but because I looked up and caught her she just handed me the paper. Don't tell people a price and then change it right after. This is extremely unprofessional. CAMELLA NAIL & PEDISPA is located in a large shopping center in Northridge. The center has a large free parking lot and there is no shortage of available parking spots. There was no line to get in. There was no wait to get seated. Walk ins are welcome. HANA worked fast. Her work is beautiful and clean. She didn't double coat the base, the tips or the top coat, though so the tips wore off in days. The girls also had beautiful work done on them. Gel on one of my girls lasted a long time. read more

Honestly I've noticed this place is hit or miss. If you're gonna come here I recommend the young girl in the 3rd chair on the right ONLY. I will not be coming back here again after a CUSTOMER shamed me for asking my regular nail technician of 4 years crazy stuff like to file my nails straight, paint to the edges and be careful with the topcoat because it was wavy from uneven application. Unfortunately over time she has became lazy and no attention to detail and gets annoyed if you say anything but today was the last straw. For $75 plus tip for toes and a fill you can find that anywhere for a better job. I'd avoid Tracy and Tammy. These nails were done by Tracy. The first time I went for nail enhancements, it was a wonderful job. Lasted me a long time. The girl applying it was kind and friendly. When I went back for a regular manicure, it was a little different. The polish was put on very shoddy with lines and bubbles in the finished product. I hadn't even touched anything yet, and the polish didn't cover the whole nail ! If you want anything but a regular manicure, then Camella's will probably be a good bet. This was honestly the worst nail experience I've ever had. I came here because the salon is big and busy, so I assumed the service would be good--but I was very wrong. Peter did my nails without even asking what shape I wanted. He cut them way too short even though I asked for the same length as my previous set. The application was uneven and thick, the nails looked bulky, and he didn't even take the time to file them properly. It felt like he just wanted to rush through it. On top of that, there were black lint particles stuck in the polish that he didn't bother to fix. The result? My nails are so short and round they literally look like a child's hands. My pedicure was just as bad--crooked, uneven, and even the polish at the base of the nails was messy and incomplete. For such a big salon, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. As an overall score, I would give this place 3 stars. You call and it's a hit or miss whether they can get you in, the receptionist is very nice but it really all comes down to the nail tech. I went in yesterday for a gel manicure, and was seated with Amber. She is incredible, she listens to what you ask for and really does a nice job! When I come back, I will always ask for her and highly recommend to anyone! The other nail techs are just there to do what they think you want, it's fast and they don't really take their time. Moldy Gel X fungus. I have been doing gel X nails for almost 2 years and never had this problem no matter how long I wait to remove them, which is usually two weeks to a month depending on how busy I am. I had gel X nails applied by a gentleman almost 1 month ago. Upon getting them removed today fungus/mold was discovered under the gel polish. I've never had this on my nails in my entire life. When I went to speak to the manager, she said that many of their clients get this because water gets between the fake nail and the real nail and that you just go buy drops at a drugstore to fix it. She claims this is just something that happens. When I went to the drugstore, they said I would need oral medication prescribed by a doctor because the mold/fungus is underneath the nail. I had a special occasion today and did not know that this was going on underneath my nails so now I have to have bare nails that are hideous. I will not be returning and don't understand why this is something normal and not worthy of even an apology or refund. read more

I came in today and requested to do Camella indulgence pedi and Oh-la-la mani services. I always like to verify pricing at the start of my services bc it always changes despite having fixed prices. I confirmed with the front desk that adding gel polish to any of these services is an added $15. When my usual go to person Van asked what colors I was planning to do and I showed her which packet I wanted to do she said, no you'll do the gel polish packet. I asked why, if I wanted to do the other and add gel service. She got really upset and attitude which is unlike her. I'm actually shocked that she was so rude when she is always so pleasant. I then told her that's fine to change the subject bc the last thing I wanted to do was create a scene or spend $100 on an unpleasant experience. She continued to ask me if I wanted to do the gel packet and I said no. The lady at the front confirmed what's on the pricing menu and it's $15 to add gel. Van stated that the girl at the front doesn't know anything... she's only there Sunday's. Maybe that supports my point about inconsistency in pricing. Regardless, it's unprofessional to argue with the customers especially if they are not engaging and choosing to just not get anything done anymore. It was a very humiliating experience. The place continues to be one of the cleanest that I know which is why I like to come here. Their pricing still is one of the most reasonable and truly relaxing. I was in here two days ago and actually teared up in my chair. The lady that was cutting my toenails made be bleed twice and was unapologetic. It felt intentional. Both big toes are swollen days later, it hurts to walk, and bled tonight again after wearing tennis shoes. Im in so much pain and I'm truly afraid of getting an infection. The lady that did my French manicure was very nice, however the left hand was completely uneven given the angle she was sitting at. I was hesitant to speak up, but after tearing up during this whole experience and the pain she promised to fix the nails... but actually made them thicker and worse. You can see where she went over the polish to try to even it out. After all this I paid $100 for the service. First time back here since restrictions have been lifted. The man that did my mani pedi didn't do a good job. Pedi I didn't care so much about but my manicure was a disaster. I went to the front and whispered to the girl that I am upset with my nails and if she can get someone else to fix it because the man that did my nails didn't do it the way I wanted to and half assed it. She got someone to fix my nails immediately. I get it shit happens. Maybe he was having an off day or didn't want to do what I had asked which was originally French tip and then he kept insisting my nails are too short for a French tip so I picked a different color. I asked for thin coats so it doesn't look bubbly and I don't know if he heard/understood/ignored me but my fingers looked like bubbles and I was trying to file down the sides myself to see if it looked any better and he decided to take the file from me and do it. I was unhappy with how it turned out. Girl in the front got someone to do the French tip: looks a lot cleaner than what it did but definitely not what it could've looked like considering I come here quiet often. I'd post a picture but I have a lot of cuts from my cuticles not being cleaned and then filed down. I went with my best friend to this nail salon near csun campus, and we wanted to look nice for thanksgiving coming up. We wanted to sit together but for some reason that was too much to ask for. I suppose they do not clean their materials very well because I ended up with an infection on my pinky after a few days of me getting my nails done. My friend didn't like that the nail technician was being rough with the drill on her finger nails and toes. They had some great nail designers and they have potential, but the infection just killed it. So sorry I have to give it a 1 star. read more
