I received an email message while at work informing that this food truck would be in the area and decided to try it. Although they provided great service, the flavors didn't level up. I ordered the rice bowl topped with tempura shrimp. Very disappointing. Where's the shrimp? Nothing but batter that I peeled away to get to the shrimp. Also, too much mayonnaise, very little slaw, and flavorless yellow rice. Sorry for the downer review especially when a woman (the chef) is doing business. I am a big supporter of women in business. I hope this review helps her step up the flavors of this particular dish. This is my first time trying this food truck and maybe other options are better. Good luck. read more

A real treat showed up at work today for the lunch hour. Camel Tow Taco has a risque name with amazing tacos. The prices are a good value with great portions. I had a fish taco and a pulled pork taco. The fish had a tempura batter that was crisp and drizzled with a spicy mayo inside a crispy shell. The pulled pork was seasoned well and also topped with the spicy mayo and cilantro. I took my order back to the office and the shell was still crispy and tacos were still hot. The staff was friendly, service was fast and the food was great. It was really cute that they gave you a rock to hold that was painted with the order number on it. I've tried this place before from my mom bringing us some home. However, I attended a food truck event tonight and the customer service was awful. There was no acknowledgment of my presence when I even said hello to the man taking orders. He then proceeded to ask back the man he had served before me with still no acknowledgment of me. The owners are very nice and really make an effort to know you, even remembering your order from last time! All my coworkers agree they are the best! The fish tacos are the most popular, but they have some other options too that include vegetarian. I wish they had grilled options instead of fried, but they did add a pulled pork taco to the menu recently. I personally thought it was too saucy but that's my personal preference. I went to Edgewood Eats Third Friday on St Paddy's day. I had some less than stellar corn beef and decided to drop by this event on the way home. Several ladies were raving about the vegetable tacos at Camel Tow Tacos. So after checking out the other trucks I headed over to Camel Tow. Customers had driven up just to eat at Camel Tow Taco so I was anticipating some good eats. Since this was my second meal of the night I ordered one taco. As I watched the wonderful food come out of the window I rethought my choice and upped the ante to two tacos (you save a buck too.) I chose one veggie and one chicken. This was hands down the best food I have had from a mobile vendor in the past couple years. The Veggie taco was tempura and had cilantro and a wonderful sauce. I only got a couple bites of the chicken taco before my husband "confiscated" it but from what I remember it was also tasty. If I had to pick a favorite it would be the vegetable taco for it's unique combination of ingredients as well as flavor. I had the pulled pork tacos with the corn salsa (because I'm super picky) and they were very good, but I was hoping for more options on them. (Cheese, lettuce and vinegar, salsa, etc.) The staff was very nice and attentive. I received my food very quickly. This truck is only getting 3 stars due to the lack of options for a picky eater. Most of the tacos are seafood, which I don't like, and everything else seemed very complicated. My best advice would be to give more options. Oh wow this was super yummy! I only ordered one Tempura Chicken taco as part of their $5 lunch special deal - one taco, chips, and a drink. The owners pointed out the deal. They were super friendly. Their tempura batter came out super crispy as it should, and I absolutely love their sweet chili sauce that they paired with it. Also I have to point out that the tempura was not greasy or tasted greasy, it was perfect. If you look at the photo the chicken strip they give in their tacos are pretty big. The chicken itself was juicy and flavorful with the salsa and sauce. They also toast their soft tortilla slightly so it has a good crunch to it along with the tempura. This is one of the only trucks I will eat from and she is at the complex about once a month and has yet to disappoint. The tacos are Asian fusion so they are different than your typical tacos but still yummy.
