The doctors are fine , but the PT dept is run like a mill I was previously at HSS PT and I only…read moreleft because they no longer took my Cigna insurance which is my secondary with Medicare. The PT at HSS treats you individually for 30 minutes and is prompt and on time. At ONS My appt was 10:30 and I didn't see the PT for 20 minutes and I just sat there with a hot towel around my ankle. I kept asking where the PT was and they said she would be over shortly. She spent 10 minutes with me and gave me off to her assistant. When I asked what was the 4th exercise I did on my initial visit she said I have 24 patients and I don't know. I canceled all my other appointments and I'll return to HSS where I can get all my care by a PT. I know this is owned by a venture capitalist and the care is not great and rushed. I suggest you use HSS PT and not here!!!!

Very disappointed and actually shocked at the performance of Dr. Vadasdi. Although no one…read morerecommended her, I thought she'd be a source of treatment for my shoulder injuries, but she came into the exam room after glancing at my MRIs, no evidence of viewing XRs showing the misaligned long bone (humerus), said in order to have only one surgery I need total reverse shoulder replacement. Said she'd have her surgery scheduler call me. Was concerned that living 45 minutes away was long, but I reassured her and shared that ONS is a destination medical center and that a registered nurse would sign me out after surgery when the date comes and drive me home and stay overnight. She wanted me to have new MRIs to view before surgery, so I scheduled them and made lots of other plans. The appointment wasn't long enough to address any specific injuries to be treated or for her to explain her choice of maximally invasive surgery when there's arthroscopic surgery to repair the various tears I have and a number of other injuries. I was okay with a replacement shoulder to relieve the pain from the crooked bone which less invasive surgery would not do. I don't have any arthritis to speak of on that shoulder which is why it was bizarre that her diagnosis is arthritis. That's the problem on the other shoulder which she said she didn't want to address. So there's two shoulders with the same diagnosis. All my problems started with an impacted fall. So much was missing from the appointment including learning risks of the surgery. I understand she had another patient waiting to see her but I wasn't late. I sent a portal message afterwards with some basic questions since surgery was upcoming but she did not respond nor arrange for another to as ONS doctors do. Week 2. I called the secretaries and they and the call center employees and the call center supervisor messaged her to call me. She still didn't but I was put in touch with her scheduler who said she couldn't see my after-visit notes in which she indicated reverse shoulder surgery but saw that she wrote somewhere that I didn't need surgery. I went through everything with the scheduler and sent the scheduler the notes for the visit where this doctor wrote that replacement surgery is what she planned. I'm waiting to hear back from the scheduler to hear if the doctor will even talk to her. This is hectic and chaotic. The scheduler sent my portal message to the doctor in an email since the message from the secretaries to read my portal message didn't accomplish it. After that, the follow-up appointment with her to pin down the details of the surgery was cancelled, but not even by a phone call from the doctor, an opportunity to touch base, but by an automated message. As a matter of courtesy, I have to get back to a lot of people who spent much time ensuring skilled nursing services post-op and PT (physical therapy) post op. It's been a job with this doctor having set so much in motion. I lost critical time. It's hard to fathom that a doctor treats patients this way. I think this doctor is an anomaly at ONS. Others have PAs a patient can talk to, some even attend appointments to be on board. The secretaries do all they can. I decided to only see doctors who are recommended. She did write my case is complex and I know that but if too hard, she should say that.

I love Dr. Cavallo's office…read more I came here for an evaluation after I hurt my knee and went to Stamford Hospital ER and they told me I sprained my knee. A week and a half later my knee still didn't feel right. I made an appointment to go to Dr. Cavallo. He was real thorough. After he did the test. He diagnosed me with a torn meniscus in my right knee, he even said you can get a second opinion if I would like. He does a lot of them, he him self has even had the surgery. I was very surprised since Stamford hospital was so off with my diagnosis. Dr. Cavallo actually did my surgery and I was very nervous because this was my first surgery. He put me at ease and did my surgery perfectly. Recovery was long and one of the toughest things I've had to do through no fault of his. I also started physical therapy in the same office with James Caroleo and he and his team who have also been wonderful. I would highly recommended Dr. Cavallo office for your orthopedic needs.

All of these repairs led me to a serious arthritic situation requiring me to have a total shoulder replacement in my 50s. After careful review, I selected Paul Sethi at ONS. A great choice! The operation took place in their Stamford medical suite so no risk from all of those infectious transmissions that can show up in the hospital. Paul was extremely thorough in his diagnostic prep and model building leading to a very smooth procedure. What blew me away was that I NEVER had any pain after the operation! My rehab was smooth and my therapist says he has never seen such a phenomenal total shoulder replacement in terms of range of motion, fast recovery and overall strength. The frequent office follow ups were reassuring and conservative. I could not be happier and recommend Dr. Sethi wholeheartedly!!! This guy is a winner.

The other 3 doctors before the Texas Rangers team orthopedist and an orthopedist in Farmington, CT seemed not to care about me and pushed me out of their office as soon as they could. The Phillies team orthopedist said that b/c I had already had surgery on my right knee that he wouldn't do the surgery. I spoke with Keith Meister (the Texas Rangers team orthopedist) over the phone and he had seen my MRIs and he said that there was def a problem with my right knee. He sent me to Paul who then took a half hour with me to show me all the MRIs and pictures of my knee. He showed me where the tear was kind of hidden and that I definitely had a meniscus tear. He said it could be worse when he goes in to do the surgery. As it turns out it was worse as he needed to perform microfracture surgery on my right knee as I had a hole in the articular cart down to my femur. I was devastated, but he was with me for the next 2 years as I recovered from the surgery and the subsequent surgery on my lateral meniscus on my left knee. He pushed me to work through having surgery on both knees. It was a very hard time in my life, but both Dr. Snowball and Dr. Sethi were there for me and I will remember their help for the rest of my life. If you want doctors who are good at what they do, give you the time to talk to them about what is going on, and really care about you go to Dr. Sethi and Dr. Snowball. You will not regret it.

Updating my review with retrospective of having had PT at a several places following my surgery. I…read morestill think HSS Westchester is overrated but if you find a reasonable therapist there, it's okay (just don't pick Chery Sun). They are high volume so you may feel like a number but they try their best and you do get the full 20-30 minute with a PT compared to other chains where you may be with the assistant for half or more of the visits. They do have all the technology you could want (as do many other spots) and their scheduling system isn't the most client friendly and kind of a pain. But you eventually learn to navigate it and work with the (sometimes less than friendly) front desk staff. Overall, you can get your PT here if you want, just be aware of the advantages and disadvantages I mentioned, which may or may not apply to you at all. I did think that (like in many NYC area locations), the number of jerky therapists/staff is higher here than in other places (say Boston/DC)- but that's something you have to deal with regularly if you live in this area. Also be aware of the fact that in my opinion, PTs occasionally can make your orthopedic issues worse/injure you, especially if you get a PT who is not careful and who does not listen well to your feedback (it happened to me at a different location). This is a healthcare system wide issue and i did not get injured at HSS PT, however had I not changed PTs it may have happened. If you ever feel excessive pain during your PT and your PT does not seem to listen or take it seriously it may be in your best interest to get a new PT to avoid possibly injury.

I went for all their fancy tests. I spent five hours in that hospital to be told we cannot touch you because you have arthritis. They should have told me when I made a telephone appointment for their services. To top it off. I asked them if they could cut my leg above the arthritis, imagining the girl running with an artificial leg. " No, no," they said without hesitation. "We have another group of specialists that does that." Goodbye and walk away. They are quadruple-arm bandits in fancy respectable suits. I trusted them to help me but they helped themselves out of my ignorance. Just watch out, they will dazzle you with what they claimed as #1. Ask questions and more questions.
