If your search is time sensitive please search elsewhere. I hate to write reviews, but I have to elaborate on my experience applying here. I would hate for the next person to be shortened out of their hard earned money the way I was, so my review is solely to bring awareness to those after me. Throughout my process there was a complete lack of empathy, common courtesy, and ethical practice. I'll begin by saying the holding/ reservation fee is a compete scam. They will stall and take your money. Using their leasing agents at the forefront, they will systematically avoiding routine application updates for 2 weeks just to keep your money (keep in mind during the two weeks they close early on Saturday , they're closed on Sunday, and barely even answer the phone). First, they'll begin by telling you that they are still "processing" your application. When you apply they provide you with this misconception that the fee you're paying is a holding deposit that reserves your unit, and goes toward your first month's rent - NO. It is indeed going into their pockets. This will be right before they cease all communication, and put the unit you paid to reserve back on their marketing website as "available for rent." Once that two week time frame expires, they'll re-open the unit you reserved to new applicants. This rinse & repeat method is an ongoing cycle they use to bring in revenue to mitigate their losses. It's unfortunate that this egregious "business" they are operating will go the mile of using scandalous and ambiguous tactics just to keep the lights on in the building. read more

Camden Court is within walking distance to the UMB campus and Camden Yards baseball stadium. Inner Harbor is very close, as is the Baltimore Ravens football stadium. The city is full of history. The apartment is secure with indoor parking and closed lobby. You even have to use a security pass to get the elevators to move. The building is very secure, the apartments equipped with smart technology and the hallways are kept clean. Downside is hallways sometimes smell like marijuana and parties can get loud. Seems like a good, secure -if not on the expensive side - place to livr. read more

I'm so glad that I moved out of here. Their leasing office is terrible. It's like every time I had to contact the leasing office l, it was someone new--the turnover is constant. They ended up keeping $175 of my $250 deposit for a stain that was there before I moved in. I foolishly didn't make a note of the stain when I filled out the move in report so that's on me. Nevertheless, they took $175 of $250 for a little bleach stain?!?! The rest of the apartment was in top notch condition. Moreover, the location is in a terrible area. It's in between a fire station and the light rail so I had to sleep with ear plugs every night. Almost every night to could hear people screaming and yelling outside well past midnight. I put up with it for two years because it was walking distance to my school. However, I used to get so nervous when I walked back from school because I didn't feel safe. One time when I was walking back from a night class, a guy exposed himself to me a block away from the apartment and then followed me back. Another time, around 11pm at night, a guy tried to get into my apartment. He kept jiggling my door knob and tried to push the door open. I looked through my peephole and recognized him because I saw him a couple hours earlier on the elevator. He seemed kind of nervous on the elevator. I also thought it was weird that he got on a higher floor, and then got off on a lower floor (but not the bottom floor) and practically ran off the elevator when the doors opened. When I realized that this same guy was trying to get into my apartment, I called the front desk and the front desk staff said that they didn't see anyone. The front desk staff walked around the building and stopped by to reassure me that everything was okay. The next day, they called me again to say that they haven't seen the guy who I described and from then on they let it go. A lot of the front desk staff barely look up when people walk in so I'm sure the guy got into the apartment easily. You can just follow someone in and they'd never notice. The icing on the cake was when someone was shot on the 400 block of Lombard (so only a block away) in broad daylight. I moved out a month later. I should have just saved money, lived at home, and commuted to school. read more

The front desk people could not be nicer and it was always so nice to walk into the building to a smiling face. I also loved the gym and the other amenities to the building. The location was perfect to UMD and I was generally happy living in the building for 2 years. However, the recently new management is horrible and they made the end of my experience living in Camden really very challenging and unpleasant. Not only are they horrible communicators but they continuously called me and made issues where there did not need to be any. They also never took responsibility for their mistakes. They messed up my move out dates, my reservation for the elevator for moving, parking, and rent payments. My suggestion would be to make sure the building is really for you and mentally prepare yourself to have to deal with such difficult people. read more

I have always lived in Maryland, but in the more rural, southern parts of Maryland. Moving to Baltimore was a big change for me, but Camden Court was an amazing selection. When I came for a tour, there were nurses and doctors in the main area, which said to me that, right off the bat, this was probably a great complex and a great area to live in. I was not disappointed. The building was built in 2005 and many apartments were renovated again in 2015 (to my knowledge). Even the lowest upgraded apartments are really quite nice. My apartment is spacious and, combined with the location, is a really fair price for the area. The staff, Deanna, Brad, Moe, the Head of Maintenance (apologies as I've forgotten his name), Moe, Nicole, and a couple other front desk people are amazing. There was a mix-up when I first moved in because I worked with someone who previously worked for Camden Court and my expectations were that I was getting a fully renovated apartment. Deanna, Brad, and the Head of Maintenance apologized, but all worked together to find a great solution to the problem. The previous tenants slightly broke the ice tray and removed the glass bottom of the refrigerator. Deanna kindly filed service requests for me and maintenance was really very timely. The two aforementioned issues were things I didn't really see until after move in because of the optical illusion of the reflection of the glass doors. In fact, I didn't notice until after I tried to put something on the shelf that there wasn't anything there, so there is really no way anyone would have noticed in the inspection of the apartment after the previous tenant. When I moved in, Moe was working at the front desk and greeted me. I reserved the service elevator ahead of time, but I wasn't sure how to work it. Moe stayed and showed both me and the movers until I was comfortable we understood and he was exceptionally gracious about it. I'm not particularly comfortable with technology, but everyone has been really helpful in explaining processes or helping me along by doing things (like filing service requests for me). I've been here about a month now and the apartment is great. Everyone is quite and courteous. It's really great to have security and 24 hour concierge. My school suggested Camden Court among other places, but Camden Court really blew me away with how kind everyone was and how beautiful the apartments are. There are two more things I want to address before I end my review: the fire department next door and disability. The fire department is located quite literally next door. It's not at all a problem for me. I'm on the side closest to the fire department and I've never been woken up at all by the noise. It's a city, so there can be outside noise, but I haven't felt that it's been prohibitive of anything. I am higher up in the building, but still. Lastly, I have a motor disability and Deanna was really great working with me to get a parking space inside the garage attached to the apartments. It's a handicap space and she even gave me options to pick from! Camden Court has been very disability friendly from my experience so far, so, if that's something that matters to you, this is a good place to be. *This review is based off my personal experiences and knowledge only. read more

Pros: -- Polite and efficient leasing office, maintenance, and security personnel. -- Nice lobby, lounge, and above-average fitness room. -- Reasonably spacious, well-maintained, contemporary apartments. -- Very quiet on the back (alley) side of the building. -- One block from the Convention Center, Chipotle, Subway sandwich shop, and a 7-Eleven. -- Two blocks from Camden Yards, Starbucks, Nando's Peri Peri, and the Hippodrome. -- Six blocks from the Inner Harbor and the excellent Streets grocery market. -- About a mile from Whole Foods in Harbor East. -- The location is very convenient to I-95 and the Parkway. -- The fire station on Lombard is not as noisy as you'd expect, because Lombard is a one-way street so the fire engines all drive away from the building, not past it. Cons: -- The neighborhood is creepy at night, to the north and west. I never had a problem, but police activity seemed to be common on Howard Street, and there was a shooting at Lexington Market six blocks away. Rats are abundant around the light-rail station, but not around the apartment building itself. -- The HVAC units take up living space, costly to run, and suffer from some condensation/dampness problems. -- The Royal Farms Arena is across the street. Crowds aren't too noisy, but when there isn't a show or game going on, the stretch of Howard Street in front of the apartment building is desolate. -- The light rail trains ARE noisy with their honking and rumbling immediately outside the building, and their concatenary disrupts over-the-air TV when the trains pass by. So avoid living on the Howard Street side of the building below, say, the seventh floor. (I lived on Five.) -- Parking is pricey, and winters were a problem, as the entry deck of the garage accumulated snow and ice. Parking spaces are pre-assigned, which is great except when your spot fills up with snow. In response to what other reviewers have said: I lived in two apartments in the building from 2015 to 2017. The fire alarms rarely went off. The building's windows seemed well-insulated from noise, compared to other apartment buildings that I toured nearby. Summary: The building is great. The neighborhood is OK for a student on a budget or someone who doesn't mind living among Baltimore's grittier but mostly non-violent downtown residents. If you're new to Baltimore and looking for a tony neighborhood with hip hangouts, though, you need to look at apartments on Charles Street or in Harbor East, Canton, or Hampden, not here. read more

Love my new place! The location is perfect for me, my apartment is beautiful. And just everything has been so smooth dealing with Deanna.

I've been living here for three years and I've enjoyed it so far. If you're a UMB student, this is the perfect building for you. It's a 5 min walk to the school and most of the residents are students. The lounge is a quiet place to study in if you don't feel like walking to the school's library. The building is also very close to the Inner Harbor, Camden Yards, and Federal Hill. The management team and the front desk staff are super friendly and helpful. The area is not as safe as other parts of Baltimore so living in a secured building is a plus. Some of the cons: none of the apartments have balconies and the building doesn't have a rooftop or courtyard. Parking is always an issue for visitors so people end up parking in the alley behind the building which is not the safest/cleanest. read more

Most likely you are a med student looking for somewhere to live near the hospital, right? Well, unless the Marlboro is your only other option (and that place is a smelly pit) Camden Court is a horrible place to live. Where to begin? It's in a very undesirable area. The word "Downtown" usually evokes an image of buisnesses, but here it is borderline ghetto. Don't let anyone glamourize it by saying it's "near" the Inner Harbor. It's about six blocks away. The fire alarms go off ALL THE TIME. Seriously. And there is never a fire, they just like to set them off. FOR HOURS. Think the fire station located right next door means there will be a prompt and efficient response to the alarms going off? THINK AGAIN. There is a FIRE STATION NEXT DOOR. You get the joy of hearing the trucks come and go at all hours. There is a train station just a few steps north. So the trains are under your windows. And they are not quiet. Don't ever open the windows, because then you will realize you are paying an exorbitant amount of money to feel as though you live on the streets. At least as far as the decible levels are concerned. The street noise is excessive here, espeically during the Baltimore Grand Prix. Or Orioles games. Ugh. Parking is expensive, and if you go the 'cheaper' (by $25.00) route, you get to park across the street at the First Mariner Arena parking. Which is constantly busy with events for the Arena (of course.) There is no assigned parking there, so you better just not go anywhere when there is a big show, because there is no guarantee you will have a parking spot even though you pay monthly for one. Think the low security deposit is awesome? Well, they surprise you with a long list of exorbitant possible charges when you give notice that you will be moving out. Also, you must give two month's notice prior to moving. I've never heard of this before, and I have lived in three major cities. The "security" is laughable. Mostly uninterested young women surfing the net and talking on their cell phones, when they are not 'doing their rounds" (that is, taking a smoke break.) People smoke in the stairways. WTH? There are random corners in many rooms, making it difficult to arrange your furniture. The kitchen is ridiculously small. Unless all you do is order out. The heaters are giant boxes located under the windows, taking up much floor space. You can feel the outside air blowing in from the OUTLETS. This will increase your already way too damn high (thanks, BGE) electricity bill. There is no storage space, and very little closet space. You'd better not have much stuff. This is not a place to have children. There is nothing for them to do here or nearby, and just crossing the street when you leave can be treacherous. There are much better places to live, if you absolutely must live in Baltimore. I would advise against living in the city at all, especially if you don't enjoy paying excessive city taxes. read more

I just moved out of Camden Court, and I must say that I will miss it a lot. I'm a med student at UMB and I wanted something affordable, clean, and close to the school. Pros: -Very clean and spacious apartments. -Friendly and responsive maintenance staff. I must say that the maintenance staff make it worth living here because they are super nice and respond to your requests super quickly. -Friendly leasing staff. -Nice gym and free printer/computer. -Free coffee/tea machine (not the best in the world, but when you are a student and make no money, it does the job) -free cookies in the afternoon -Occasionally, free breakfast/lunch for residents -Proximity to Marc Station and UMMS -trash room on every floor Cons: -very high heating/cooling bills -lax security staff during the day (the night ones are cool) -noise from the trains and fire station next door (but not that big of a deal) Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience and I would stay here again in a heartbeat! I would have to say that this apartment building, while generally comfortable, and conveniently located, is not perfect. However, let's start with the positives. Most of the residents are white, East-Coast Yuppies and stchdents, a bit on the snobbish side. Well, maybe that wasn't all that positive after all. It's ideal for UMB students, as it is within walking distance of that campus. For someone who uses public transit, you couldn't ask for a better location, as it is within close proximity of most of the bus lines going through downtown, the light rail (right under your window), the subway, and the MARC Camden Line. It's within walking distance of most downtown establishments. However, there's very little charm to the neighborhood it's in, as many of the restaurants within the immediate vicinity are either mediocre tourist traps such as Luna del Sea, or chains such as Subway, Starbucks, Panera, etc. Therefore, I usually end up bussing or training it over to Fells Point or Mount Vernon for the good eating and drinking spots. And, if you walk a few blocks north on Howard, Eutaw, or Paca Streets, you will discover the people who put the "Charm" in to Charm City, such as the street urchins and the bums who think they're all that, but are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. And yes, the building is right nexed to one of the busiest firehouses in the city, so you will hear plenty of sirens. The building itself looks quite nice on the inside. It has a coffee and tea machine which is complimentary, a small gym, an even smaller business center, and mailboxes on one wall. Like any apartment building, it features controlled access. For the most part, "security" is decent enough, if a bit lax from an outsider's perspective. The lady who works most evenings, Sandra, is their best "security" officer in my opinion, as she takes her job very seriously, and is most professional. As for most of the others, it's hard to say. Some are decent enough, but in my opinion, the younger ladies are on their phones, or hanging out in the business center a little too much, and in the mornings, I am serenaded by their gossiping, which wouldn't be at all out of place on any of the city buses which roll past the building at any given moment. Thankfully, the elevators are pretty fast, as there are 14 floors. The apartments themselves aren't the smallest ones I've seen. They have pretty spacious living and bedrooms, but the kitchen is nothing special. The washer and dryer setup is nice, and thankfully has a closet door in front of it to muffle the noise. However, it's not quite the 5-star setup you're paying for, as the air/heating unit is clunky and box-like, and the heating is not what it could be. The BGE bills can climb to hundreds of dollars, and some apartments are noticeably warmer than others, even when set at the same temperature. There is a little draft from the outlets as well. And no, there is not a ton of storage space, but honestly, I don't think you'll find that luxury in a downtown high rise. Street noise is audible, especially on the lower floors, but it usually isn't deafening. Overall, it's a decent enough place, especially for a young student like me, although you will pay an arm and a leg for it, and can probably find something comparable in the general area for less and with more charm, but not the kind of charm you'll find a couple of blocks north. read more

-was charged $1000 upon move out because they decided that two stains the size of a nickel warranted replacement of the entire apartment's carpet and charged us for it. when asked why this wasn't considered normal wear and tear, Crystal Duty of the leasing office was extremely rude and condescending -was told in writing by Crystal Duty before move in that subletting would be allowed. When I asked about this 6 months later, I was told that the policy has changed and that subletting is no longer possible. I was never informed through any means by the apartment that there was a policy change -there is ZERO insulation in this building! in the winter, there is a constant cold draft coming in directly through the "heating vent," which was directly connected to the outside and had nothing to prevent cold air from coming in. We paid over $300 a month for heating in the winter and it was absolutely freezing in the apartment. read more
