They were great with my son. They took time to show him everything that they were going to do and even did a small check up on his stuff Dino.

The practice was originally wonderful, and had such glowing reviews we paid up front for braces knowing the outcome would be terrific. What a mistake. Staff after the ownership change has been unreliable, and fully ineffective at supporting kids with dental anxiety (the whole reason we were at this practice). Our 2 outcomes ride the line of malpractice. Child 1; My first child's teeth were slow to fall out and required 13 extractions. Traumatizing to say the least. Every time they spoke to me, they had already told my weeping kid about a need for more extractions. Once in braces, they went ahead with a plan to leave gaps for implants instead of closing gaps as I had indicated with the original practice owner. This would have worked out in the end except they removed the braces before the teeth were fully straight making it impossible to obtain the implants they planned for, (without my agreement). In the end, I had to get kid 1 a bridge, requiring the grinding of 4 healthy teeth to restore the aesthetics for a minor. Devastating and now a chronic maintenance issue. Child 2; Brought here due to severe dental anxiety, this kid was constantly told there was a need for surgeries, or other invasive interventions, before letting me know and with no apparent awareness of the stress it caused. Multiple calls in to align our understanding did not seem to bend the curve. Once out of braces, kid 2 was seen by my adult dentist at another practice, who immediately saw a cyst on a tooth CPDA had rotated. That cyst, was apparently there for quite some time and was never mentioned by anyone at CPDA. The result, kid 2, the one who is terrified of dental work, is now undergoing surgery to remove the cyst and evaluate the resulting bone loss before receiving some kind of root canal, implant or bridge. Take a look at the dates of the good reviews. It speaks volumes. Do not bring your kids here.

From the moment we called, the staff was incredibly kind and understanding. They got us in quickly, which was such a relief for both my son and me. Dr. Aziz is phenomenal--so gentle, patient, and calm. She took the time to explain everything in a way my son could understand and never rushed or pressured him. You can really tell she cares about her young patients and knows exactly how to help them feel safe and comfortable. This practice is truly a gem. Thank you, Dr. Aziz and team--you turned a scary situation into a positive memory for my son!

I also had some pretty invasive/traumatic surgeries on my mouth somewhere else, and dr sones and the staff were both knowledgeable and kind. They gave me a consultation before jumping to a service and made sure I knew what was happening at all times. She hooked me up with a VERY well done and discreet front tooth crown that I was proud to smile big with at my wedding day recently. Have I mentioned that it's an all female kickass team who are so nice and remember what you talk about. I have moved 4 times since starting at this practice and now love an hour away but I refuse to go anywhere else. My husband even left his childhood dentist after accompanying me to a visit or two. I was recommended Cambridge Smiles for their excellent bedside (chairside?) manner and quality of service. And after 3 visits now (2 of which were deep cleanings), I have to say they totally deliver. There's a cute doggy hanging out, there's good calming music. Good little bonus. I didn't get a lot of time with Dr. Sones, but she was able to answer my questions with detailed answers and charts. The majority of my time was spent with the hygienist, Trang. I can't stress enough how much I appreciated the level of professionalism. She checked in with me every step of the way, letting me know exactly what to expect and what each tool was for. She made sure the entire process rather pain-free and judgement-free. The work was careful and detailed. And, wow, what a world of difference all that makes. The results are (dare I say?) life changing. Already I feel a renewed sense of confidence, I feel like I can smile again without embarrassment. So... can't recommend it highly enough!

Because these people failed to accurately do my medical intake - I almost had a 5k dollar expenditure. I had been a patient at GHDP-Somerville for nearly 10 years. My first dentist was fantastic, he left. My second dentist, fantastic, he left. My subsequent dentists all mediocre to poor. I had a number of primary dentists here, so many changes to my service that I lost track of how many there were. The quality of hygienists, awful. Cleanings took longer stopped being comprehensive - my last cleaning I had to remind the hygienist they missed the entire bottom left of my mouth. The last... and I mean absolute last straw was my experience with Dr. Tsering DMD. I finally decided to move on. After my cleaning, they discovered I had a filling that had failed\broken and were intent on fixing it. As they started taking my blood pressure, I noted several times to the hygienist that they had my sleeve in the pressure cuff, so they weren't going to get an accurate response. I also insisted on them using a larger cuff (I have larger biceps and triceps) to get an accurate reading - they refused, ignored everything I said... and got a bonkers blood pressure reading. They insisted on me getting a primary care visit before they would fill the cavity. A month goes by, I cannot get an appointment. I tried to get it scheduled and was rather rudely dismissed by "Patrick" at the front desk when I called and explained that the tooth needed to be addressed. This was just before Christmas, it took me until mid February (nearly four months from the start) to get a new primary care dr. and a visit who said... the same thing every one of my doctors has ever said "Make sure they are using a right size cuff" I switched to another dentist closer to home - he filled the cavity last week and to quote him "You're lucky, I was barely able to fill this it may still need a root canal, we should watch this very closely" Go literally ANYWHERE ELSE

zero stars - minus*…read more Buyer Beware -- Extremely Unprofessional and Unethical Experience This is a buyer beware review. We had an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience at this practice. The physician remained largely inaccessible, hiding behind office staff until the very end of the process. Overall, our experience was riddled with incompetence, unprofessionalism, unethical behavior, and deception. My daughter had braces placed here and remained under their care for about 5-6 months before we moved out of the area. Below is a summary of the major issues we encountered -- both during treatment and while transferring to a new orthodontist. 1. Constantly Broken Brackets Almost every visit involved repairing broken brackets -- something we never experienced with our two older children who completed orthodontic treatment elsewhere. The staff repeatedly blamed my daughter, claiming she was eating "hard foods," even when the bracket broke after biting into something as soft as a French fry. Having to return after nearly every routine appointment for broken brackets is highly unusual and concerning. 2. Obstacles in Transferring Records When we requested treatment records after moving, we were told we had to come in person to sign a release -- despite living over 60 miles away. This is not compliant with HIPAA, which requires practices to release records upon a patient's written request without unnecessary barriers. The delay in transferring records to our new orthodontist caused a significant treatment gap, leaving my daughter with broken brackets for an extended period. It took multiple follow-up calls before anything was finally sent. This behavior was both unethical and unprofessional. 3. Extremely Limited Orthodontist Availability The orthodontist was only available Tuesday through Thursday with limited hours. Emergencies or urgent concerns outside those times were left unaddressed. For a medical practice handling active orthodontic cases, this lack of accessibility is unacceptable. 4. Dishonest and Inconsistent Refund Process When we moved, we were told we'd receive only 50% of what we paid -- despite my daughter having completed only 5-6 months out of a 30-month treatment plan. Even their office manager, Daniela, admitted that the fair and standard approach would be a prorated refund of about 80%, but could not justify why the office offered only 50%. They also tried to change the documented treatment time from 30 months to 24 months, reducing our rightful refund. Additionally, although we paid $6,100 out of pocket, the practice also billed our insurance, which wasn't factored into the refund discussion. The entire situation was handled with dishonesty and questionable ethics. 5. Unprofessional Conduct by the Physician After weeks of back-and-forth with staff, the physician finally joined a call -- only to speak in a rude and unprofessional manner. By that point, I had dealt with their team nearly ten times and had lost confidence in the integrity of the practice. Given the repeated mismanagement and lack of accountability, I requested a full refund, which I have yet to receive. Final Thoughts This practice appears to care more about money than patients. Our experience reflects a lack of professionalism, poor patient care standards, and questionable ethics. I would strongly advise families to look elsewhere for orthodontic care.

I'm glad my son went here as his first dental experience. When he was younger he went to the ER a lot, and had more doctor appointments than I want to remember; so he always associated doctor with traumatizing needles. Everything was easy, from booking an appointment to filling out paperwork (on an iPad). Once we stepped into the office, it was bright and everyone was pretty cheerful, very kid friendly. There's also a chalkboard by the door that writes the name of first time patients to welcome them! The dental hygienist and dentist explained everything pretty well and answered any questions I had. They used a stuffed animal to explain to my son how tooth brushing and flossing works and what they would be doing when they checked his teeth out so he wouldn't be too scared. A nice thing about a high tech dental office is TVs on the ceiling as a distraction for the kids.

He never asked about what had happened or what I had been told by the office, but just seemed focused on money (as another yelp review states below) and stated that my insurance was "weird" and "difficult" and that they had "lost money" on my like 3-minute cavity check). You need to realize that the office is in a position of power and please be respectful to everyone. A few months I called and was told that they would check on a cavity as part of my next cleaning at no additional charge (because it would take 10 seconds) and they were nice enough to move up my appointment. When I showed up for my appointment, they said they didn't have time for a cleaning and they checked inside my mouth for about 4-6 seconds and said everything was fine. I confirmed before (over the phone and in person) that it would be complementary (because it would take 10 seconds). They then charged me and billed my insurance for a full exam. The reason for this review is that the office has been frustrating and very needlessly time-consuming to work with; in addition to the phone call, on at least 4 different occasions I was told something would happen (we will call you later today of by tomorrow; we will email you in the next few hours) and nothing was done. Emails weren't sent with names in the signature so I was never sure who I was emailing with. In the future, just say "We're sorry this happened. You were told it would be a cleaning but instead we made a mistake with the schedule and we apologize for this. Good news is at we were able to do a 15-second check on your cavity we installed, and because this was only 15 seconds and because you were misled into thinking that it would be a complementary part of a cleaning, we won't be charging you or your insurance for those 15 seconds." All the dentists and orthodontists I had growing up, would check on a cavity that they installed for free if it took 5-10 seconds. If they saw something that looked more alarming we would go from there and possibly book a longer exam in the future. I may delete this review in the future, and wish everyone the best with no hard feelings. Goodbye.
