After 30 years and at the age of 78, Dr. Cook has thrown me out to the curb. My insurance coverage changed not thru my fault. My PCP is a member of Beth Israel Hospital and the hospital has made all of their PCPs HMO doctors only. Dr. Cook is not in the HMO network, and he has refused to join because HMOs do not pay him enough. read more

I've been going to this practice for over a decade, and it's Just a great experience every time. Dr. Cook is the best, and his staff are kind, efficient, and gentle as they take care of our teeth. Some people end up with dentists who are constantly trying to sell them things, push possibly unnecessary treatments on them, and find any way to make some extra money. But everyone in this practice treats us like patients, not like customers. It's clear that their goal is just to keep our teeth healthy and to work together with us on whatever concerns we have, big or small. I wish all dentists were like this! read more

Do you like sparkly clean teeth, a healthy smile, and kickass 90s alternative music? If you answered, "Hell yeah!" To all three, then Dr. Cook is your go-to dentist. I was getting a chip tooth fixed they other day. Who care's about a little chip when Blues Traveller is hitting all the right notes. Long story short, tooth looks great, end of story. Side note, this place lets you send yourself your own 6 month reminder postcards. I like to put crazy predictions on mine and see if they come true six months later. "That idea you had on Ground Hogs Day will change the way people staple forever." Or "The treasure map is in on the back of the soup recipe." What a great time. Finally, If you are considering a career as a jack-o-lantern, I would say, look elsewhere. Jack-o-lanterns clearly don't care about oral health and they have a candle inside their mouth's which could injure Dr. Cook. read more

I've been a fan, patient, and admirer of The Great Dr. Cook since about 2003ish. I hadn't been to the dentist for a veeeerrrrrrrrry long time, but they made me feel welcome and happy, in spite of having to refer me to an oral surgeon for some badly degraded wisdom teeth (I can't believe I just publicly admitted that) AND a cleaning so serious that it had to be done over two one-hour appointments. I lived my whole life in dread of dentists (hence the long interval before I visited Dr. Cook on a friend's recommendation), but NOW.... NOW I actually look forward to going to the dentist. Everyone here seems happy with what they do, and like one big happy family. Everytime I've gotten a cleaning, I've been in a seat below a skylight, which I'm a big fan of. The music, as has been said before, is pretty good. The same hygienest always cleans my teeth, and I love her. She is always happy, always nice, and I suck because I can never remember her name. I think it's Mary. M-something. Last time I went there, they found a crack in one of my teeth. Dr. Cook looked at it and talked it over with me and said that while it might need a crown, he wanted to try an amalgam filling on first. The crack was in an odd position on the molar, so he wasn't sure a filling would work, but he wanted to try it, because a crown would be a) expensive, and b) sucky for me to endure. I liked that thinking, a lot, and agreed with him that a filling would be worth trying. Immediately after the procedure, Dr. Cook seemed pretty happy and confident about his efforts. Six months later, and I don't think there've been any problems. I'll find out for sure in a couple weeks when I go back for a check-up, but it looks like the man saved me from having to get a crown. I've had many dentists over the years and Dr. Cook is by far the best. Super friendly, treats his assistants and staff kindly, and is great about talking you through what he's doing and what to expect. He doesn't do any unnecessary work, like some other dentists I've been to. I hate novicaine, and Dr. Cook was willing to do two fillings on me today without using it. He was great about talking it through with me and checking in to make sure I was holding up all right. Yeah, yeah, Dr. Cook is a great dentist and all, whatever whatever-- but no one mentioned that he is young (for a dentist) and HOT. Swoooon! Goofy hot... so my type. Coming down from my crush induced high, I will say, my experience with Dr. Cook really was excellent. His staff was friendly and efficient, his assistant was fun, and Dr. Cook-- well, you know what I think of him. No, really, he was great, very competent, and very funny. He jammed along to some disco tunes playing in the office (nice voice!), and when I mentioned I was originally from Chicago, it went something like: Dr. Cook: (really serious look in his eyes) "So--are you from Cubs Chicago or Sox Chicago?" Me: "Sox Chicago--my dad grew up on the South side" Dr. Cook: "Oh THANK GOD! That's great! Boobadoopdoop [singing along to the music]" Me: "Yeah-- I went to a lot of games as a kid" Dr. Cook: "So, like, in the late eighties? Bababadadaaaa!" Me: [Swooooooooon.] He spent about ten minutes diagramming on a white board how my maybe-cavity was not a cavity, but me brushing too hard (it was very informative at the time, but don't expect me to be able to explain it to you now... a lot like school). It was really an excellent experience. The only downside: they are scheduling FOUR MONTHS AHEAD for cleanings, so if you're a new patient, you should consider getting your teeth cleaned elsewhere, and immediately setting up your next appointment for Dr. Cook's six months from now. I think that's what I'm going to have to do-- my cleaning isn't until March. UPDATE: Okay, I realized something: I may have made a very embarrassing gaff. I've given out too much information. It came to me recently that, on the intake form, that I put down "referred by: Yelp.com (a review website)." And that this is my real picture, and that... well, Dr. Cook, you could be reading this review at this very moment. Dr. Cook, I swear, the swooning is strictly platonic! I haven't been to the dentist in a few years, but I broke the tip of one of my molars eating...bread...and it worried me. So after a few months of hemming and hawing, I put on my big girl panties and referred immediately to yelp for reviews of dentists in the area. Dr. C had the best reviews-- and the best reviews by people I trusted, so I called the number listed and had the following exchange: *ring ring* (bored gay-man-voice) Hello, Dave's Bordello. (me) Oh, I think I have the wrong number. (bgmv) Ok. **looks at number on yelp, it matches the number on the phone, looks at number on some google search, it matches the number on the phone...looks at Dr. Casey B. Cook and wonders how it could be pronounced such that it sounds like "Dave's Bordello"....is confused.** *ring, ring* (bored gay man voice) "Hello, Davis Square Dental." (me, enlightened) Oh! Hi! I'd like to make an appointment. (bgmv) We're not accepting new patients right now, so you can put yourself on the wait list for an appointment and then if someone cancels, you'd get their spot. (me) Would I then be a patient, or would I have to be put on the wait list every time I needed a cleaning? (him) Oh then you'd be a patient. Which doesn't make sense...so they *are* accepting new patients...but only ones who will consent to be put on a wait list. (me) I guess I'll go on the wait list for a cleaning, but I also broke the point off one of my molars a little while ago and I'd like to have that looked at. (him) You can come in today to see the dentist-- cleanings are with the hygenists and they're booked up, but he's free. (me) Would I be a patient then or would I have to go on the wait list if I wanted a cleaning? (him).....um...I guess you'd be a patient, but you'd still have to go on the wait list for your first cleaning. OH. Does this seem overly complex to anyone else? All that aside-- I've been to see him a handful of times in the past month and he's been great. He's young and pretty hip for a dentist-- a little-- Ferris Bueller looking-- like FB got his act together and went to dental school. The music is pretty good-- which is nice when you're all numbed up and having crazy shit done in your mouth...at least you can hum along. I've also never had to seriously wait-- his appointments seem to go right on time, which is a plus. My last dentist would keep me waiting for up to an hour if she was running behind...but even in such a small office it seems to run like clockwork. They've also been great at explaining my insurance stuff to me. So, if you're ready to put your big girl panties on and get your teeth handled, CBC is your man. Just know that when you call the number, it might *sound* like they're saying Dave's Bordello, but they're really saying, Davis Square Dental. read more

I've never been more unhappy with a dental experience. It wasn't the good dentist or his associates, but the way the office is ran. It was very unprofessional and it completely turned me off. The office is dirty. I mean bugs (lady bugs or something, nothing terribly gross) lying in the corners and the light fixtures dirty. I know cleaning is expensive and they likely only get it done every couple of days, but it was a total turnoff. The staff is very unorganized and I never knew where I was supposed to go, when I was supposed to pay, if I was to go to the front counter before leaving, should I make my next appointment, etc. It was a little exhausting. My least favorite experience, though. I missed an appointment. Totally my fault. Got busy and forgot to cancel. I got a long letter, two pages, discussing why they're charging me a $50.00 cancellation fee (which is standard, I get it) if I do it again. The letter was this major finger-pointing experience about how it was all my fault, other offices do this as well, etc. etc. etc. Seriously guys, a "you missed the appointment and this is our standard policy" would have sufficed. I cancelled my next cleaning and moved on after that. I'm not a fan. The dentists didn't blow me away enough for me to have to put up with that level of unprofessionalism. read more

I love this dentist. Does anyone love their dentist, ever? I do - this one! Dr Cook and all the hygienists there are awesome. I started going 6 years ago when I lived in Cambridge and I now trek up from Southie on the T because it's just the best dentist and worth the 45 min trip each way. I didn't know anything about the apparent Somerville-wide Dr. Cook love on Yelp before I made my appointment. I just wanted someone close to me who took my insurance. Turns out I hit the jackpot! First off my old dentist and his hygienists were great, but tried to sell me on everything little thing (teeth whitening, filling replacements, special interim cleanings/fluoride). I was so sick of it plus they are way out of the way since I moved to Somerville. I found my experience at Dr. Cook's very pleasant! It took a while (1.5 hours) because it was my first visit, and we had to track down some xrays, but overall it was great. Dr. Cook is friendly, straight with you, and treats you like a real person and not a patient or client. The hygienist (I think her name was Kristie) was awesome! Super friendly, chatty in a good way, and just good company. Not to mention gentle yet great at her job. Their office is small and isn't super modern or anything (my last dentist had flat screen TVs at every chair), but no biggie. It could be updated and a little cleaner but that's my only criticism and it doesn't even really make that big of a difference. read more

Eight and a half years ago, I'd just moved to Somerville for grad school. I was crossing Highland Ave. one day, trying to get the tag off of a new hairbrush. Something white went flying through the air. It was a piece of my tooth. (Or, rather, the bonding on my front tooth that I'd already chipped when I was 8.) Teeth are not tools, people, especially not when you're dealing with those annoying plastic tag-holders that come on hairbrushes. Casey Cook's office was around the corner. It was a Saturday, around noon. I walked in just as Dr. Cook, then a young guy just barely out of dental school, was about to walk out. I pointed at my tooth and said, "Can you pleathe fix thith?" He said, "You're in luck! I just had my last appointment," quoted me a reasonable price upfront, and fixed it in a short time. As soon as he opened my mouth, he said, "Great choppers!" and we chatted about life the whole time. Bedside (chairside?) manner is everything in dentistry, and Dr. Cook is king. He makes everyone feel comfortable, and I actually look forward to my cleanings. I came back for a cleaning. He gave me the cleaning at a reduced price, because I was a grad student with no dental insurance. I went to him throughout grad school, and when I moved a couple of towns away afterwards, I tried a new dentist. Awful, awful, awful - the hygeinist was rough, making my teeth ACHE, and they tried to sell me all kinds of things I didn't need (like veneers.) I came slinking back to Dr. Cook with my tail between my legs, happy to see a dentist who makes me laugh instead of one who makes me want to scream. Meg the Hygienist, as others have mentioned, is one of the best parts of Dr. Cook's office. She is so gentle - I've never had such a thorough but painless tooth-cleaning. Meg deserves a medal. I'm going to get my teeth cleaned tomorrow, and she's on maternity leave. (My husband made his cleaning appointment for next month, when she'll be back.) I think I'll cry when I have to get a cleaning done by someone else. But, knowing Dr. Cook's high standards, I bet the temporary Replacement-Meg is good too. read more

I have to throw in my 2 cents on Casey B. Cook too. Word of his age and attractiveness spread like wildfire through my office, after my friend Siri told us she went to him. Soon after a few of us switched to him and we are so happy we did. Not only is he easy on the eyes, but he is so full of ENTHUSIASM. Every time I go he tells me how exciting he thinks my job is, and it sort of makes me think it's exciting too. He was equally enthusiastic about bookstores, when I told him I worked part time in one. It's just good to be around that kind of energy, it makes going to the dentist enjoyable. Yes, enjoyable! Also, I attempted to sculpt cake toppers for the wedding of two of my good friends, and I read online that a great tool for doing face details is the little scraper tools dentists use. So I mentioned it to Dr. Cook and he totally gave me a bunch of old tools to take home. Seriously, how awesome is that? If you live in the Cambridge/Somerville area and you don't go to him, you're totally missing out! read more

I was really disappointed with my visit with Dr, Cook after reading all these wonderful reviews. I had recently moved to the area and was looking for a dentist in the area. My previous dentist was an old fashioned guy...didn't believe in doing things just too be pretty but to have a healthy mouth. I went after work and first the hygienist cleaned my teeth and frankly they feel cleaner after I brush them then how she left them. Then Dr. Cook showed me 8 small cavities 4 of which he said I should schedule to be filled immediately. First I was shocked because I've gone my entire life without cavities and now nearing 30 I suddenly have 8! When I asked him to explain in detail the type of cavity and the procedure for filling it he told me he would explain that when I came in for the filling. I NEVER have any procedure done before researching it myself. Dr.s can be so dismissive and several of my friends are Dr.s and tell me of things like an OB not knowing that women have 2 x chromosomes. I was very disappointed that I wasn't given the opportunity to research and feel comfortable with the procedure before I was expected to accept it. Needless to say I did not schedule the feeling but returned to my family dentist and will just deal with the distance. read more

Superb, first class, top notch, marvellous etc. etc. You get the gist. So I've only ever had one dentist my entire life and was rather anxious about seeing a new doctor. I've never had a filling so was worried that I'd end up seeing some sort of rip-off merchant who would start doing all sorts of unnecessary things to my mouth. Anyway, I realized that since I've been here 7 years now and I'm not getting back to the UK as often (the joys of having a real job) I really ought to start going to a dentist here. After numerous recommendations I made an appointment to see Dr. Cook and am definitely glad I did. I am in total agreement with Laura A. and Jason K. All the staff there are lovely -- and rather amusing (I don't think I've actually laughed at a dentist before). Everything was explained to me and I left feeling that I've finally found a dentist I can trust (and who I think is better than my old dentist!). read more

Dr. Cook is amazing! He's funny, friendly and efficient. How many dentist's call you home-slice? Seriously. He has a pretty whacked sense of humor and I absolutely adore him! Not only is he a really kick-ass person, he's also a fantastic dentist. He's filled teeth for me, filed down a tooth I chipped and always with good advice and a smile. He only hires fun and friendly staff, so the dental experience is far more fun and far less sterile than I've experienced in the past. The hygienist Meg is also truly amazing. She has the lightest touch I've ever experienced and I was left with clean sparking teeth after my appointment (no sore bleeding mouth like I've experienced with past hygienists). If you need a great dentist who also happens to be a lot of fun then look no further. read more

Dr. Cook recently repaired a filling for me and did an impressive job. 1. He did not move too quickly to "fix" the problem, but appropriately advised me to hold off until things reached a point where it was truly necessary. 2. This was not a simple procedure, as the broken filling was between two teeth. I was surprised at how quickly he worked, and that I did not experience any pain. 3. He communicated openly with me at each step. 4. I was very pleased with the outcome. All of the troubling symptoms I was experiencing have been addressed. I am able to floss comfortably in the area, which was not the case when the filling was first placed. Dr. Cook is skillful, knowledgeable and a good communicator. He and his staff are kind and friendly, and inspire confidence. I recommend him highly. read more

Just to put in my 2 teeth, uh, I mean cents...well, no, I guess I really do mean teeth, this Dr. Cook guy is not overrated. You can tell by the staff's rapport that he's a great guy to work with. During a recent visit for 2 fillings we talked about numerous subjects: Abu Dhabi, "Heroes," the Murphy's Law of Emergency Calls on 3 day weekends, "Doctor Who," and when I say we talked I mean he talked and I muffled through that weird clamp with the green flabby rubber thing that surrounds one's problem teeth. And he really can understand what the hell you're saying. The whole outfit is clean, timely, friendly, and Mike FM serves as the musical backdrop of your dental ordeal. Plus, hearing Dr. Cook's banter with his assistant totally took my mind off the giant frigging needle entering my gum to pump it with mind-numbing novocaine--no small feat. While some drilling may be necessary and verge on the painful, the work is top-notch professionalism and, if you have insurance (please say you do), the final bill is not jaw-dropping. So, remember to floss, folks! Oh man, please tell me that's not how I ended this review... Sorry, Dr. Cook. read more

Ok - let me start by saying this practice is AMAZING and worth the 8 month wait for a first appointment. I'm with fellow Yelper F.C. here when I say it'd been a while since my last visit to a dentist. Eleven years I think, but I told them ten. They didn't make fun of me or lecture or gasp or anything. I'm 32 years old and am just now having signs of decay, so I'm blessed with strong teeth. The gal at the front desk was the most polite and friendly receptionist I've ever met. The hygienist, Corey (Cori, Kori..?) was friendly, funny, professional, gentle and actually really cool to talk to. She explained everything she was doing and checked in with me often. I didn't show apprehension, but after ten years, I was a little nervous. And at the end of the appt she took the time to explain what fillings are like (no priors with this for me!), and explained a little bit of her own experience getting her wisdom teeth out (which I'll get done soon, too). I had to have my x-rays and little cavities checked by Dr. Cook after the cleaning. People...this man is the best dentist ever. I'm guessing he's a great dude outside of the practice, too, and it's clear that the practice is a nice environment. He was cracking jokes, asking about me and my life, and explained everything in a professional manner. He was informative, and very personable. A total five star first visit with Dr. Casey Cook, and co. Just make the appointment...!!! read more

This team is wonderful! Friendly and laid back. I am not the biggest fan of visiting the dentist in general but they make me feel very comfortable. I've had regular cleanings, cavities filled, and other general care since vising Dr. Cook and he is the best I've had in Boston! Dr. Cook is a cool dude. He popped my cavity cherry, i'd never had one in my whole life. He filled it expertly and It wasn't nearly as traumatic as I had expected. Alright - like most people, I generally hate going to the dentist. It's scary, no doubt, and I have always been further deterred by the feeling I was getting my car fixed - "it seems to work fine, but my WHAT is broken?" Then I was referred to Davis Square Dental by a friend of mine, and my attitude has changed. First, Dr. Cook is a great guy - straight-forward, honest, and pretty cool. The atmosphere in the office is actually fun, and everyone is really helpful and nice. Like Laura A., I have found them to be accommodating on all fronts. I first started coming here about 4-5 years ago while I was in college and lived nearby. I had a LOT of cavities (that's what college drinking, slacking on dental hygiene, and avoiding dentist appointments for two years will do to you), but it was kind of a blessing, as during my almost-monthly visits, I got to know Dr. Cook & staff well. Before I came here, I'd always been suspicious of dentists trying to invent or exaggerate problems to make $$, but Dr. Cook is completely down-to-earth and honest. All of the hygienists/assistants are also really great. Also, what other dentists have Christmas parties for their patients?! I actually looked forward to my appointments. Since college, I've moved away to Back Bay, but still found him worth the longer commute. Now I'm moving out-of-state and I'm going to miss this place! I know he has a huge waiting list and surely is not lacking in positive reviews, but I'd recommend him to anyone in the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area - It's worth the wait. read more

I found Dr. Cook after asking some friends for a referral to a dentist who is sensitive to patients with severe dental anxiety. I have had some horrendous experiences in the past, rendering me paralyzed with fear every time I step foot into an office now. Casey Cook came so highly recommended that I called and didn't mind the 8 month wait for my first appointment. I was put on a cancellation list, and each time a new patient appointment opened, I got a text message asking if I wanted to come in sooner. I ended up getting an appointment right at the time I needed another cleaning. The staff at Davis Square are so friendly and make it a very relaxed environment to enter. I appreciate that the hygienist remembers the flavor of toothpaste I prefer :) It's the little things that go a long way. In regards to Dr. Cook, he really is nothing short of amazing. The first few times I saw him, he used humor to lighten the mood and ease my anxiety. Unfortunately, I had a filling pop out a few weeks ago, and panicked about what the repair would entail. Dr. Cook was attentive on a Saturday, and scheduled me to come in first thing on Monday morning. He assured me he would do everything possible to fix the problem in the least expensive/painful way that he could while still maintaining excellent care. The actual filling was huge, and he was transparent about the fact that it might not have been able to be fixed without a crown. He saw the absolute fear in my eyes and went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable. His dental care is superior, but it's his demeanor and character that transcend his skills above others. I was so impressed that he was able to 1. deal with my anxiety and 2. repair a deep filling. Dr. Casey Cook is the bravest dentist I've ever known. Someone wrote that in the Davis_Square Livejournal community, and I still think it's funny. He's a great guy, and the best dentist I've ever had, but what makes one dentist braver than another? Anyone? My hygienist Meg is equally awesome. We have to schedule my visits for the end of the day because we talk too much, and if they schedule me for the morning it screws up the rest of her day. Also they throw an open bar party at the Burren every year at Xmas. So, they've got that going for them. read more

4.5 stars. When I called to get an appointment, I was told that the wait was 7 months... a bit long! So I placed myself on the wait-list, in case of a cancellation. About 4-5 weeks later, I received a call, and had an appointment for the following morning. The appointment was pretty straight forward. Dr. Cook was genial and friendly, and I was never left waiting for him or his assistant. When I left, my first thought that it was a middling experience: no complaints, but it didn't leave me joyful either. But a visit to the dentist tends to be filled with angst or fright for many folks. Leaving the dentist content and relaxed is pretty outstanding! The reason I didn't give five stars is that you're going to have a hard time getting an appointment at all. Also, Dr. Cook didn't notice that I grind my teeth, or used to. I have a night guard now, but I was surprised that he made no comment about the wear on my teeth. read more

I had moved to the greater Boston area about 2 years ago and started looking for a dentist. I heard from a couple of people that Dr. Cook is an exceptional choice in dentist. With this recommendation, I called up to make an appointment. I was told they don't have appointments for 6 months - this place must be popular! Since I had seen a dentist right before I moved out, I wasn't in any hurry and made the appointment. Since this time, I've been to 3 appointments with Dr. Cook. Every single time, every single employee is such a pleasant person, always upbeat, starting at the receptionist. She always has a smile on her face and gives a pleasant greeting as she checks you in. I've had three different hygienists, all have been nothing but stellar. Gentle, give advice (but don't force it down your throat), and always willing to have some small talk, but not to the point where you're trying to talk with their instruments in your mouth. This most recent hygienist I had went so far as to write down a couple of recommendations on a few products. Finally, Dr. Cook. Very personable, will make you laugh, and is quick to do what needs to get done. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased. I've recommended anyone I can to Dr. Cook. If you can wait the ~6 month wait for an opening, do it! read more

I worked in dental administration for years and retired (woo hoo, go me!) when I moved from Chicago to Boston a few years back. I'm really particular about who I let work on my teeth, and did my homework trying various dentists in the Somerville/Cambridge area. I gave Dr. Cook a shot, oh... errr, I mean "try". I heart this place. I've been going to Dr. Cook since 2000. I was referred by a personal friend of his and haven't looked back since. I moved to CA for four years and then made a beeline straight back to him when I moved back to Boston. Thank god his office takes my insurance!! Dr. Cook's the best. He always keeps it light and makes you laugh. He asks questions about your life and then actually remembers (most of) what you tell him. He's straightforward about what kind of work you'll need done and refers to solid oral surgeons. The staff there is fabulous. The front desk girl (sorry for forgetting her name!) knows the labyrinthian insurance policies backwards and forwards. The hygenists have always been just as nice as Dr. Cook. Of course, my mouth always looks and feels fantastic after an appointment; not all hurty like some places I've been. You may have to prod Dr. Cook for more info sometimes, but he'll tell you all you need to know. The only thing that sucks is that since word of Dr. Cook's awesomeness has spread far and wide, they're booking six months out. I was very impressed with their friendliness and professionalism. I had not been to a dentist in several years and had been dreading it for months. They were completely sweet about it. If I had known it would be this easy, I would have gone a long time ago. It was expensive as I don't have insurance, but they only charged half of their usual fee and they were very wiling to work with me financially. The only problem is that it does take a lot time to get an appointment. read more

I love Dr. Casey Cook. He and his staff are like ready-made best friends: they are fun, friendly, nice and really remember me. The care is also of the highest quality. They are professional, efficient, and very sensitive to the fears & costs that can be associated with dentists. Also, I never thought I'd see the day where I raved publicly about a dentists, its one of those things that's always last on my to-do list (and sometimes gets skipped entirely). read more

Thinking back, I've had nothing but great dentists. But CBCDMD takes the cake because, to put it bluntly, he's the only one that's bought me a beer. I'm lucky to have healthy teeth and as a result treat them horribly. I've gone years between dental visits. I still would be too, but I always look forward to a visit to Doctor Cook. In fact I usually have to study up ahead of time so I can keep up with the latest fantasy baseball talk. My teeth happen to get cleaned at the same time. As for the tooth talk, you get honest advice, not your typical sales pitch or what you "should" do. The rest of the staff are just as friendly and make you feel at home. In other words, nothing like your typical chore of a dental visit. I don't even live nearby anymore, but I'm certainly not going to anyone else. read more

When I first heard about Casey Cook three years back, I put myself on the waiting list (which people were saying at the time was months long) and saw another dentist. But sure enough, almost a year later, I got a call back to schedule my first appointment. I haven't been anywhere else since. Once you're in, you're in: they prioritize existing patients, so scheduling the next visit is easy, and if you need work done there's no waiting. I used to go a couple years between dental visits, start forgetting to floss, and ultimately need fillings and root canals like no one's business; but every 6 months, *bam*, Dr. Cook. I get my postcard, stop by as I'm walking home from the T, I walk in, and I'm out of there in half an hour. Cleaning, X-rays, fresh toothbrush and floss, and not a speck of trouble for the 2 years I've been going. He and his hygienists and receptionist are always on schedule, always friendly (like "remembers what you talked about last time and asks how that thing you were doing was going" friendly), and super efficient. They deal directly with the insurance company and there has never been the slightest trouble or excess charge, unlike everywhere else I've been. I don't even get out my wallet. read more

Dr. Cook and his team are wonderful! Dr. Cook is very laid back and creates a really nice environment in his practice. The dental hygenists are wonderful, and always do a really thorough job while cleaning. My husband and I saw Dr. Cook for all 8 years that we lived in Davis Square, and never had a bad experience. Whenever one of us had an issue that extended beyond his specialty (wisdom teeth removal or jaw issues), he made really good referrals for us and ensured that we understood what the likely next steps would be. Plus, he always has great music playing to distract you while they work :) Dr. Cook is the best! read more
