The pediatric providers are excellent. They're intelligent, well trained, and seem to care about their patients.

Absolutely amazing staff and Dr's. Our daughter had horrible teeth alignment that needed braces. Not only did she have an extra tooth in between her front teeth. She also had two teeth in wrong locations in the gums and Dr. Catsos did miracle work bringing them back into the correct location and now our daughter has an amazing smile! Got a confirmation yesterday for my appointment at Convivial. Today I went there to find out my appointment was cancelled. They said they tried to contact me the previous week, which I don't have any record of. But even if they did: why send a confirmation the day before an appointment if its cancelled: really??? That makes zero sense! So I spent 40 min. on rt 9 and 40 min. back because Convivial can't get their act together. And to add insult to injury, they didn't even really care. Dentist and Hygienist are ok (bit pushy to get extra orthodontics) but front office is a mess. My wife recently contacted them twice with questions about braces but no one responded. We can do so much better: time for a change! read more

I just finished a 21 month Orthodontic procedure - with Dr. Cartsos as my orthodontist. She and her team are amazing; her perfectionism is what drives her to deliver the best care and get you the best outcome! They were consistently pleasant, even when I was cranky (due to the fact that I hated having to have braces but I had put it off until I was an adult.) she listens to you, her staff are compassionate and i could not be happier with the results. At times it felt like a bridge and tunnel project in my mouth but that was because they were moving a LOT of things around. Well done - I'm happy as can be because my teeth look amazing!! read more

This review is specifically for Dr. Grant Murray and the staff that works with him. I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience was extraordinary. I have brought my kids in for cleanings twice and was impressed with his kindness and willingness to answer our questions. Most recently my 9 year old daughter needed sealants and a filling. Dr. Murray was incredibly warm. His personality made my daughter feel completely at ease, and while she was nervous for her first filling, I could tell she was comfortable. He spoke directly to her and used made-up words to explain what he was doing - she LOVED that and kept talking about the "tooth pillow" he put in her cheek. She had no problem with the novocaine injection and hopped right out of the chair with a big smile on her face when he was done. I couldn't believe it (and had really worried about how the appointment would go). THANK YOU, Dr. Murray and your incredible staff for being so good at what you do, and above all else, for being so warm and kind and helping your little patients get through some hard stuff and come out with a smile :) read more

Convivial indeed, they are all friendly and helpful. The doctors and staff give personal attention, they get to know people's names and background, they show flexibility and good will when needed. The atmosphere is always nice, with decorations for holidays and good humor. Going to the dentist or orthodontist can sometimes be unpleasant and expensive, but they do what they can to make it easier. Good professionals, good people ! read more

I came to this practice as a child when it was under Dr. Udler. I recently went back with my 4 year old daughter. Our cleanings was wonderful and thorough. However, the dentist was quick and said that I had 3 cavities (I've only had 1 in my lifetime - in my late twenties now). She also suggested that my daughter might be at risk for a cavity. The fillings would have cost over $200 with insurance. I sought a second opinion, and the new dentist said all of my teeth looked fine. No cavities. I will never be back! They care more about their bottom line than the patients. Customer service over the phone was also curt at times. read more

I will never bring my daughter back to convivial dental. She is 8 years old and the dentist was extremely rude to her. She was visibly nervous for her appointment. She was holding my hand and reported she was scared. While he was cleaning her teeth she flinched and touched his hand. He then stated to say if you touch my hand again we are going to have a problem, you are 8 years old, you should know better. He spoke in an extremely rude and derogatory tone. I spoke up about his demeanor towards my 8 year old daughter and he did not respond. He looked at me. At the end of the cleaning (it was almost over when he did this) I asked for her records and he said no. So I asked the front desk lady who happened to be in the hallway right outside the door. I asked again for the records. She said yes after you sign the release. He ended up apologizing for his very poor unprofessional behavior. They would also not give me my daughters records after staff told me I would be able to get paper copies. I highly do not recommend!!!! Stay away. read more

I have never left a review like this in my life but if it will spare other families the misery we just went through it's worth talking about. My 9 year old son was new to this practice (he had only been seen once before by a different dentist). We came in for a filling and I went into the room with him to speak to the dentist and explain what was going on. Dr. Zavras proceeded to give my son Novocain and then left the room for about 20 minutes to give it time to work. Upon returning he started drilling my son's tooth at which point my son cried out in pain. I immediately asked my son if he was in pain and at that point the doctor whipped around in his chair coming right up into my face, blocking me from talking to my son and told me "this is not OK, you are putting ideas into his head, your job is to be a silent observer and not interfere. He's completely numb there is nothing wrong with him" Through my shock I tried to tell him that I am very resistant to Novocain and often need multiple shots to get numb and thought my son might as well but Dr. Zavras would not let me get a word in edgewise. It took me multiple tries to finally be allowed to speak. Despite my son's insistence that it didn't just "feel weird" (that's what the Doctor was insisting it felt like) that it did in fact hurt Dr. Zavras, despite my son's cries and my input completely ignored us both and tried to start drilling again. I sat there completely frozen, I couldn't believe this was happening. I was at a pediatric practice with the head of the practice no less and my son's feelings were being dismissed, pain inflicted upon him and I was sitting there powerless being spoken to like a naughty child who was nothing but a bother and inconvenience to him. I was so shocked at that point I was sitting in my chair frozen trying to decide what to do but not being able to move. The end result was that he finally accepted that my son was in pain and gave him another shot of Novocain, finished the filling and we ran out of there as fast as we could. I am furious that this happened to my son, disgusted that a profesional in such a highly sensitive field would be so unkind, unethical, dismissive, rude and unprofessional to both the patient and to a parent. This doctor did not know us, knew nothing of our history or us personally yet made an arrogant assumption that my son was just a whiny hysterical child and me an overbearing intrusive parent (all for asking if my son was in pain). I hope whoever is searching this practice on Yelp comes across this review and really takes it to heart. No child should every be subjected to what my son was by this doctor and no parent should ever be treated this way while trying to advocate for their child. This was a truly awful experience and one I'm hoping my son will be able to forget in time, however I know that I will never forget it. read more

The doctors here all claimed that my 4 year old had 2 cavities and should have both teeth filled. I was hesitant to take their advice given how anxious and sensitive my son is. I decided to wait it out against the doctors recommendation. I since took him to two other places where doctors said he absolutely did not need to have any teeth filled. Place is laid out nicely with a child's play area with toys that looked to be clean. The bunch of different dentists that we saw were friendly but only provided general dental info and guidance that can easily be Googled. In fact one of the dentists googled to show me the pictures of a condition I expected my child to have. Then didn't really provide any solution other than regular maintenance. The worst part is the front desk scheduling staff, they kept scheduling me with different dentist every time I made an appointment without notifying me. They seemed not to care I asked to see a particular one and were not friendly. Moving to another pediatric dentist office. read more

This office is awesome. Went as a new patient and the front desk helped me with all my insurance Information made it very clear on coverages. If I could give zero stars, I would. We went to Dr. Udler after my 4-year old son had a cavity our family dentist could not fill. We set up an appointment 3 times to get it done. Each time, Dr. Udler could not fill the cavity -- one time he had not "blocked a sufficient amount of time," the other 2 times our son appeared to him to be uncomfortable, so he would not fill it. (Yes, probably so -- he is having a cavity filled.) This was after drugging our son with nitrous oxide and a sedative. The most amazing part was, that after the 3rd time, Udler told us to take him to Children's Hospital Boston. He also said that the nitrous oxide he used the 2 previous times probably was not covered by our insurance, and that we would be billed for it. But that's not even the worst part. A few days after the 3rd pointless visit with Udler, I called Children's to set up a time to get the cavity filled, which was now causing my son a great deal of pain. Children's said that they needed a letter from the dentist identifying the tooth and why the dentist could not fill it -- not a formal referral form or transmittal of dental records or anything like that. When I called Udler's office requesting the letter, Udler was on vacation, would not be back until the following week, and no one else in the office could provide the requested information or letter to Children's -- not another dentist, not a nurse, no one. We are now taking him -- 3 months later -- to Children's Hospital for an emergency dentistry visit. To recap, because this is a very long post, Udler saw us three times, did nothing to fix the dental problem and drugged our son for no reason -- twice -- that we were then billed for. His office also would do nothing to help us once the pain became intolerable. It seems to us he is more interested in taking advantage of the pocket book -- and vulnerabilities -- of parents who want to help their children, rather than provide reasonable solutions. Dr. Khera is the best! She was so great with my toddlers. I am amazed at how thoroughly she was able to examine them while still making it fun. She gave us great tips on healthy eating and brushing habits. My kids now love to brush their teeth and are looking forward to seeing her again! Impressive! read more

Dr. Khera is my daughter's dentist. I cannot say enough great things about her and her colleagues. The entire staff is welcoming and excellent with patients. Dr. Khera is knowledgeable, has a great bedside manner, and so wonderful with kids! I love this practice so much so I went to get my own dental needs taken care of here. Maria was amazing and did an excellent job. As a physician, I'm critical with healthcare practices but I must say, this is one of the best dental practices I have been to. read more

Have been bringing my children here for the last two years for cleanings. But after my recent experience with my child having his first cavity, I will never be back and would not recommend this place. The establishment is not child-friendly in regards to how they deal with their little patients. My son was given novacaine the first time, when he panicked and the dentist just said that he'd have to come back another time. Second attempt was with sedation, nitrous and novacaine. There was no pre-chats with him to calm or acclimate him to the process. He panicked, cried and screamed. The dentist offered us to come back another time again! It's like neither of the dentists wanted to deal with a child that needed a bit more of their attention and/or patience. The dentist checked her cellphone texts while "taking" care of my son! Additionally was disturbed twice that her following appointments were waiting. An aide threaten my son that they would make me leave the room if he didn't stop screaming and crying because it would affect other patients. Another dentist came in the middle of all the commotion just to see what was happening, but offered no assistance or guidance. Needless to say, I'll be going elsewhere. read more

We have been going to this practice for a year. They've done a great job with my kids teeth. This past month, however, my youngest needed her teeth sealed. She was scared and showing signs of emotional discomfort and resistance. She is 4. the dentist took me outside and asked for my consent to be very firm with her and that I may need to be outside of the room and once she calms down and listens, he will tell her I can come back in. While his strategy worked, I was not comfortable with how he raised his voice with her and told her that he is in charge, not mommy. I do not speak to my kids this way and would not want anyone else to. I could have pulled my daughter in the middle of it but he was almost done, the damage had been done and I just wanted it be be completed. I told my kids that I was not comfortable with how the doctor spoke to my youngest so We will not be returning. They don't seem to have the patience for kids who are anxious. They try to but they don't. read more

Beware, After joining in 2014, dental hygienists did not advise of cavities (or take xrays) that were clearly visible on my sons (then 5 yrs) teeth which lead to Dr. Baens attempting to perform a root canal with NO sedation OR xrays a couple years later. This is negligence and should not be happening at any pediatric dental office especially one in Chestnut Hill. **please note: I never have written a review/complaint before but feel parents could benefit by knowing this information prior to stepping foot in here. read more

I've been bringing my kids here for 2.5 years and I am very impressed with every dentist and staff people I've interacted with. They have been caring, patient with my uncooperative kids, knowledgeable, and kind. I've been impressed with their thoroughness but never felt like unnecessary services have been recommended. They take time to interact with my kids and help them feel comfortable. Plus, Shake Shack is across the street so I never mind making the drive! read more
