They have it all- pork ribs, beef ribs, brisket, various seasoned chicken breasts and thighs, brats and sausages GALORE, raw dog food, beef jerky (with generous sampling), and so SO much more! Leslie must have seen me drooling while checking out the beef jerky, she asked me if I needed help, and I obliged. I sampled their Peppered and their Teriyaki, before I asked her what the most popular ones were. She suggested the Peppered Honey and the Sweet and Spicy- both were glorious! Those are the two we went with- the Peppered Honey had a nice peppered sweet balance and the Sweet and Spicy has a delicious kick of heat and the end. Leslie was so kind and took us around on a tour of all of their offerings, giving her personal suggestions and customer favorites. I appreciated that touch of customer service that is just non-existent and most grocery stores in their meat departments. Her service alone made us customers for life- thank you! Pro Tip: In talking with Leslie I mentioned that it was our first time there- she let us know that they serve a hot "Brat of the Day" and new customers get one on the house. We were serves the Beer Brat on a stick and it was delicious. So if you're a newbie, like me, mention it to a staff member when you check out for a meaty treat :)

Then when I don't find it and they look - one of the items they say oh yeah, probably not at this location and the other one they say that so and so (some guys name I'm apparently supposed to know) had some out which are gone. Basically this is apparently shopping for those people who want to buy a bottle of wine, some fancy mushrooms and a can of something they can't pronounce, pay a whole lot of money for it and talk to Gary (or whoever) about the weather. And those mushrooms are gorgeous. I did grab cake samples for the road because they were there. Yeah, so YUM. Also their bakery folks were very helpful with their items. And the prices for bakery goods was actually reasonable since you really are getting quality. Same with their delivery and they were also quite helpful. I can completely see coming here for some specialty items. Be fit and non ADA though. Some areas are a bit challenging and their motorized cart said full battery but it was running out very fast.

Everything else seemed to be 20-30 minutes away, so finding this spot felt a bit like discovering a hidden gem. Inside, we learned that the store was originally built in 1907 to serve local sawmill workers and nearby residents. That history gave it an authentic, old-fashioned charm you don't often find anymore. The building itself has a rustic, worn-in look that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. Even though it's small, the store carried a little bit of everything--snacks, drinks, canned goods, and basic household items. It reminded me of a scaled-down version of a regular grocery store, where you might not have dozens of brand options but you'll almost always find something that works. It's clearly still serving its original purpose: providing essentials for people in an otherwise pretty rural area on the outskirts of more densely populated towns. We walked around for a bit, just soaking it in, and my wife asked about a restroom. The staff told us they only have a port-a-potty outside for customers, which definitely added to the "old-school general store" experience but might not be ideal for everyone. Overall, it was really neat to check out this little piece of history. An hour or so later, I fulfilled my promise, and the both of us spend the next 20-30 minutes browsing, and conversing with the (very pleasant) shop owner. All oils and vinegars are available for sampling, as well as a sizeable selection of salts and seasonings. There are also pasta sauces and noodles, chocolates, olives and other pickled vegetables, mustards, jellies, and similar culinary accoutrement. Among my wife's favorites were several fruit-based balsamic vinegars which, when mixed with soda water, create some tasty, low-calorie beverages that also are great for treating the persistent heartburn and indigestion she was experiencing during pregnancy. Considering my other favorite oil and vinegar shop is a five-hour drive away in Leavenworth, having Navidi's in our backyard is a blessing, and a guaranteed regular stop for us throughout the year. Do IT! Both flavors complemented each other well. The beans were tasty, rice wasn't mushy, and typically I don't like lettuce in my burritos, but it was a nice welcome contrast to all the heavy elements. Come here!
