This store has been around for many many years. Although it's small,, they have a nice variety of your everyday staples, and they have AMAZING fresh tamales in their deli area, I think they only have them on Fri & Sat, but this is literally the only place I purchase tamales from. Yum! read more

Been in here a few times this year and have gotten some pretty good stuff at a reasonable price. The aisles are very narrow so be careful. Their meats are good and the non-perishables are above average in my opinion. Pretty good selection for cold cerveza . They have a huge selection of baked goods that looked tasty. I'm gonna try their salsa soon. Store is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely plan on going back soon! read more

Best Mexican market in Vancouver hands down! I usually go there for the carniceria, and we get a couple pounds of different meats to cook up for easy tacos or burritos. They have a large variety of chicken, pork or beef, as well as five star homemade pork rinds or chicarron as big as your head! They even have the ones with salty layer of meat still attached! There is also a delicious panaderia inside with a large variety of cakes and sweets, churros and non sweet breads also. If you are looking for some pre cooked carnitas, to bring home and make with tacos or whatever, they are the best in town. Before they only had the hot foods on Fridays and the weekends, but it may have changed because it seems like they usually have them when I go shopping there now. They also sometimes have a really good birria de res ( or something very similar, that is equally delicious), but by far my favorite premade food they have is tamales! Some of the best tamales I have ever eaten! Day by day it varies, but it seems like they usually have a pork or chicken tamale, and a oaxan style mole tamale wrapped in a banana leaf, sometimes they even have a cheese and jalepeno stuffed tamale that is very good too, but it seems like they don't have the cheese ones very often, so when they do, I jump on them. They are all top notch! As you can see, I come here quite often, and always have had delicious food! Rather it be butcher meats to cook at home, or hot foods for an easy meal, they have it all. Another really cool thing they offer is 7 day candles of all colors and varieties. And a few plain Jane colored candles as well. You can find lots of catholic saints and even santa muerte candles too, which I was very excited about! They are also priced very reasonable! They also carry rosaries and quite a few other things like that too. All in all, check it out if your in the area! I added this place to my regular grocery rotation and couldn't be happier, It's a fantastic gem of a place! And I think they also opened up a small lunch spot that's kind of attached next door that is very good too! read more

Very sweet ladies here. Can't say much about the grocery store, but I love the little restaurant. The ice cream is fantastic. I used to come here and get sopes, birria, pupusas, and tacos. The workers entertained my poor spanish. Very nice people and good food. read more

I'm gonna have take out 2 reviews off like I said before from my previous review the meat here and all the items are great but staffs are still unwelcome and also very rude. Today there 2 staffs behind the meat section one male who had blue eyes that knows fluent Spanish and a women maybe in her mid 40s have been looking at me and talking about me. I know some Spanish words and they did called me a moron for no reason and all I did is waited for my meat, gave them respect. I just don't know why they have to be immature and unprofessional towards their costumers.... I still ill be coming here and hoping that I would not get the same experience again. read more

Its right next to my fav Asian market in Vancouver, but this is the first time I've checked it out. Admittedly it looks way ghetto and has that typical ethnic market smell, but I love it! Great butcher section w a surprising variety of meats and cuts - including lengua (tongue), goat and pretty white tripe (not the creepy brown tripe Asian markets like to carry). But the most exciting find was the homemade crispy fried chicharrones kept under a warmer with way more salty pork belly meat than fat. My friend had never tried meaty chicharrones, and now I have her hooked. Their produce section is almost non existent, but you can always hop next door to the Asian market. I can't wait to try their tamales and marinated meats! So glad I found this store amount the international food plaza. I'm so used to having really good Mexican food and markets living in San Francisco. I had to stock up on all the basics while staying with my Kim for a while. I found them to be friendly and accommodating. One of my favorite things to stock up on are the loose leaf , bulk hibiscus tea flowers. I think it's 6$ a pound. I found it at an herb shop the other day for 10$ an ounce in portland. ‍ I've already been there twice since I go through the tea so fast. read more

Fuck this place. My wife went to the eatery right next to the store and got snubbed by the rude bitches who work there. They had no problem talking to another customer (in spanish) but wouldn't even make eye contact with my wife. Too racist to take someone's money? Fine, you won't get ours anymore. It's not like there aren't plenty of other stores up and down the same street selling the same things you do here. We gave this place plenty of passes from the wilted produce, the bugs in the corn, the extremely high prices on certain items and the borderline rudeness (when I was around). Mexican Market with excellent $1.50 Tamales and Carnitas. Unfortunately Tamales and Carnitas are only served on the weekends. If you want Tamales or need Tamales for Xmas Eve, this is the goto place. Their Carne Asada in the meat department is excellent. It's true carne asada, not the fake stuff Winco tries to pass off as Carne Asada. Coming from L.A. I'm used to $4.50 a pound so $5.50-$6.00 a pound here is a little pricey in my book, but considering Carne Asada is hard to find in the Couve, I guess supply/demand dictates the higher price. I wish Mercado Latino had a better produce selection, as I often find myself only buying meat here and having to head elsewhere to find Taro, Yucca and Chayote. read more

Boyfriend and I went to this store and the one next to it called "Mercado Latino Snacks".. terrible experience at both. We both felt very uncomfortable because we could feel them judging us since we're not Mexican. The checkout lines were absolutely ridiculous and could be set up to be more organized. At the "snack" place next door, we ordered a mangonada and the lady was just so off putting and rude, but the drink was good. Only bad thing about it was it was pretty much a syrup based drink with a ton of cut up mango and the first sip was unbelievably sour. There's also not much room in the building. I'll probably never go back again to support their businesses. read more

This is the place to go when you need just about anything authentic for your dinner/breakfast/Tuesday needs. A nice wide range of house cut meats are available at a very reasonable price. House made tamales are not only fairly priced, but taste so divine, I have to stop myself from eating a few in the parking lot when I leave the store. All the standard ingredients and day to day necessities of Mexican cuisine are present in cans/candy/packaging and I can't imagine I would need to go anywhere else for these things. They have it covered for you. Customer service is always wonderful both in the back of the house as well as the front. Parking, is, however fairly limited here. There are several great establishments in this plaza, and people are always waiting for some spot to open up. Come early is my best advice on just about any day. read more

I absolutely love this place, everyone is ALWAYS so nice and helpful. People on here calling workers rude, I'm guessing you have an issue with language and the fact that most of the workers have Spanish as their first language. My purchase tonight was 4lbs. Of carne asada :/ I was told by butcher it was the best seasoned. Was not impressed. Brought it home cooked it up and it definitely was lacking flavor in the meat and season. I will definitely keep searching for a better butcher. Besides all this nonsense the prices are outrageous! God help me I will go back to California sooner than later where prices for beans are 67cents a pound than $2.99 for a 16oz bag of beans.
