This place has a great quality, selection and variety of meats. We love their house made beef sticks and jerky. Great prices. Been coming here for years. They sell all sorts of eggs at a decent price too. They also sell the brat of the day so if you're looking for a glow up to Costco's hotdog, grab a warm brat for a quick bit. Service is great and the ambiance is that of a small town butcher with options to keep you coming back for more. My husband drove by Mayers Custom Meats when out one day and we decided to give them a shot! We walked in late morning on a Saturday, before the rush. They have it all- pork ribs, beef ribs, brisket, various seasoned chicken breasts and thighs, brats and sausages GALORE, raw dog food, beef jerky (with generous sampling), and so SO much more! Leslie must have seen me drooling while checking out the beef jerky, she asked me if I needed help, and I obliged. I sampled their Peppered and their Teriyaki, before I asked her what the most popular ones were. She suggested the Peppered Honey and the Sweet and Spicy- both were glorious! Those are the two we went with- the Peppered Honey had a nice peppered sweet balance and the Sweet and Spicy has a delicious kick of heat and the end. Leslie was so kind and took us around on a tour of all of their offerings, giving her personal suggestions and customer favorites. I appreciated that touch of customer service that is just non-existent and most grocery stores in their meat departments. Her service alone made us customers for life- thank you! Pro Tip: In talking with Leslie I mentioned that it was our first time there- she let us know that they serve a hot "Brat of the Day" and new customers get one on the house. Came here today all way from Beaverton Oregon just to check their meats. I spent $250 worth of meats: T-bones, ribeyes, and marrow bones for the doggies. Yet, we're were treated like we will be stealing their meats from them. I'm a carnivore so meat is all I eat. I order my beef online from Colorado Craft Beef, Betterfed Beef, Snake River Farms, and Alpine Ranch Farms. I also go to my local butcher in Bethany area. I also buy half a cow once in a while at Source Farms. I stopped by this place just to check them out, yet, I was treated like I'm going to steal their meats! I will never go back. Mayers has a case full of delicious things. The jerky, the sausages, the steaks and a variety of marinaded meats. The service is quick, even with a line. They've got a handful of sauces and seasonings that all look wonderful. I come here to buy my favorite 4-legged friends smoked hocks & pig ears. My good friend brought me here to pick up some steaks and summer sausage on our way to her cabin for the weekend. Everything was delicious, and the prices were good. I was however taken aback when the tipping option came up when I was paying. Yes, the gentleman who helped us was kind, answered our questions, and did his job as I honestly would expect in any store. I think the tipping era has seriously gotten out of hand, and I've worked in the restaurant industry as a college student, and also in retail, where I was expected to provide customer service. They also had different ratings under the percentage for tipping options based on your "experience". I was just there to buy some meat and I ended up tipping 10% which was the lowest end. I see now here that tipping is optional, but it just seems odd to me. read more

Usually their cheddar brats are amazing, but unfortunately this time they were slimey and starting to smell. Really sux because I love these things. They need to put best before dates on them. They were edible after washing the slime off and boiling but were definitely past their best before date. I've been coming here for years and like their product but noticed prices have gone up. Inflation, I get it. More expensive than the other local meat market. What made me give 3 stars is that they have their ground beef pre wrapped. It's supposed to be a pound. And it's $9.30 a pound. It looks quite small so I took it home and weighed it myself. Sure enough it's not a pound. 15.2oz and 15.6oz. To my knowledge a pound is 16oz. I know it's off by a little but if I'm paying for a pound I'd like to get a pound. Maybe our scales are off who knows but just doesn't look like a pound even by the eye. But I had already bought it. I'll know for next time. read more

Mayers does have good meat, but that doesn't offset the areas it's lacking. The store isn't laid out well, so it's a bit chaotic when you are trying to get service. It used to be more open, but they added unnecessary shelving right when you come in. A peeve of mine is the tipping (and the tequila cheer), this seems excessive, especially since they just raised their prices 20% since my last visit. I will be researching other options for a new butcher shop. read more

Walking into the store I was instantly excited. It was from all the Jerky, sausage link, and Steak. I wanted to check everything out so I went to right so i could end on the left near the cash register. I ended up with Garlic SMoked Sausage Flank Steak Sweet and Spicy Jerky Hot Jerky smoked cheese and beef jerky sticks I wanted so much more but i decided to make it so I had to stop back by, The Jerky was the Absolute Best I ever had. Wow! I'm impressed, for the most part. There is a huge selection here, particularly of their house-made bratwursts and meat sticks. I generally have disliked every bratwurst I've ever tried, but Mayer's are truly outstanding. Be sure to try their broccoli and cheddar brats, they're amazing. Even their plain brats are outstanding, especially when grilled. Service is very professional and friendly. Their prices are much lower than I would have expected. There are two items keeping Mayer's from getting five stars: 1. During my visit, several of the glass cases were so fogged up that it was literally impossible to see what was in them 2. One of the cases had several items that looked interesting but were marked, "not for sale". This was confusing. Excellent meat market. Fresh brats, thick bone-in pork chops and smoked bacon are favorites. These brats are a good 8-10 inches long and the best I've ever had anywhere. Way better than Kirkland or Johnsonville brats or aidells sausages. And they routinely have not only pork ribs but also large racks of long beef ribs. Many flavors of smoked brats, and the usual other meat market items of steaks and roasts, summer sausage, pep sticks, etc.... And outstanding customer service. There are usually more workers behind the counter than customers in the store and they are quick to assist you. No taking numbers here or waiting in lines. All fresh meat is double-wrapped in butcher paper and labeled. read more
