Not only has she come out of her shell, she has developed more confidence and self-esteem. She is learning how to ride a horse, how to care for a horse, how to properly saddle a horse. Brooke has learned responsibility and respect for animals. Mrs. Peck takes a serious approach to teaching her students about horse riding and care. She starts with the basics of how to care for horses like brushing and grooming them, cleaning the face, using the correct body terms and how to saddle and tack up a horse and ready for riding. She takes safety, very seriously her no nonsense approach teaches children not only to respect an animal that weighs over 1000 pounds. But to have compassion and love for horses. Do not come to Peck Farms expecting this to be a pony ride experience, it is not. She will teach your child how to be responsible. She will teach your child how to take ownership of riding a horse from start to finish. She teaches with love and kindness and compassion, but she also wants to make sure that your child understands directions thoroughly and that they do not get hurt or hurt her horses. I've sat in on my daughter's lesson I have watched and listened, and I appreciate the respect she gives my daughter as well as the kindness and compassion. She shows her. For anyone that says differently about Mrs. Peck. I invite you to come down and actually watch a lesson.Aa few reviews I've read do not match my experience or my daughter's. If you want your child to develop a love of riding horses both western or English saddle. I suggest you book a lesson with Mrs. Peck and come down and watch and see for yourself. Listening to a male instructor talk about how much he hated Trump and politics was so negative. I was here to have fun. I am just a young person who would like to have a good positive experience outside of my life of schooling. Lastly, I felt misled at times. The owner often made promises regarding the quality of the lessons and the state of the facility that did not hold up during my visits. This inconsistency was disheartening and left me feeling as though I could not trust the information provided. In summary, I cannot recommend Pecks based on my experience. There are many other stables that prioritize both quality instruction and a well-maintained environment, and I urge anyone considering lessons to explore those options instead. Lessons should be a joyful and enriching experience, but my time at Pecks was, unfortunately, anything but that. Owner posted a comment that I came during her husband's death. That is not true he died long before my visits. Sadly she has to use his death as an excuse.

Upon entering the ranch you feel transformed to a place where everyone is happy being with their horse..Beautiful turn-outs including one under the trees with two picnic tables so it is enjoyable to hang out and relax while your horse wanders around in the shady coolness. People are friendly and I have not seen any drama. Leo the ranch hand really cares about the horses and is hard working as well as Karisa the Manager who is willing to go the extra mile for your horse. She will text or call you when she notices something about your horse. She did for me when my horse's eyed was swollen enabling me to quickly take care of it so that her eye did not get worse. Karisa offers hay upgrades and turn outs for your horse for reasonable add on rates. Karisa and Leo are both friendly and I get to practice my Spanish when communicating with Leo which is a bonus for me! So happy I moved my horse to this ranch!!!

You'll want to learn the phrase "algae sauce" because barn manager insists that Algae Sauce "is normal and that horses love it!" Coincidently, Algae Sauce also hides dead rat I found in my horses water. When I notified management about the second rat, found in horses hay, Kristy called me nasty names in what one can only hope was an alcohol induced rant. She, straight sober, tried to convince me that my pasture horse would thrive without fresh water, with two flakes of cheap hay, provided at random times on most days. Many many times, I would find that they had not fed or only provided a fraction of the portions that were promised. Pasture horses are expected to fight the herd stallion (Krusty's retired horse) for access to water. At one point, I found the tap to the water trough had come apart. Management promised it would be repaired the next day. Four days later, I checked the trough. It was DRY. It had not been fixed. It was 98-100 degrees for those days. My young horse had NO water for at least two of those days. Another horse died from colic three days later. Yes, the ranch is pretty and yes they have a covered arena. But, if they can't deliver fresh water and food, what's the point? Boarders are subjected to price gouging (+$200, monthly for 1cube/week of bedding and you must "subscribe" for a minimum of 6 months) to make up for manager's bad business practices. I'm embarrassed to tell people I boarded my horses here. See photos!

It is disgusting. Full of algae They never clean it. One of the Ferrier's couldn't take it and took it upon herself to clean the huge water bin. It took her an hour and she got reprimanded for it instead of a thank you so she only cleaned one. The alpha in the pasture is not accustomed to pasture life and will kill any horse that is a threat. I watched him mount four times in front of me. That mare was badly hurt to where the vet was called. Upon reporting this the manager Kristi Troyna simply texted back 'thank you'. Then she attempted to, in her macheavillian manner, push me out and leave. Threatening email and several texts on file. The harassment was never ending. Kristi should not be in charge any more than her horse should be in a pasture with other horses. I was there and saw too much. They underfeed and what hay I did see every so often, was floor hay, dusty and inedible. I eventually left, needless to say I didn't get a deposit back nor did she prorate my departure. I had to call for police escort, yes she is that nasty. Always yelling at people and complaining about people discussing the inept and disastrous manner in which it runs the ranch. Her reason for not wanting me there was ' not a good fit'. I saw too much. Everyone one there is terrified of her appalling behavior. I might add that the boarding and pasture clients were all lovely. All of them. It was a pleasure to have met them.

Updates stopped completely yet billing 1k a week continued. Now a friend found my mini listed for adoption. Heartless, unethical, lying saying he was abandoned!!! Kept him hostage 3 months no exercise, no socializing, no turn out. When I requested his STRANGLES which Sullivan claimed incurable be reported, I got the cold shoulder then passive aggressive listing of my beloved now traumatized mini. Stay away!!!

Listen to me- My husband and I have had 11 animals together…read morein the past decade... this is by far the best vet I have ever encountered. Dr. Richard is a literal angel who saved the life of my pet when every emergency vet and equine doctor from solvang to Culver City wouldn't see me. In fact, dr. Richard wasn't familiar with my animal at all and when I originally called the facility in a panic hours before showing up I was told them couldn't help me as he didn't have the experience I specifically needed. Fast forward five hours, three different vets and the last place offering to euthanize my animal... Dr. Richard took a chance, made it clear he couldn't guarantee me a positive outcome and saved our pet's life. Not only did he take a chance when EVERYONE told me no, his office staff sent me daily updates of them all loving on our animal... cute feeding videos, etc. The price was beyond reasonable, the facility and grounds looked clean, the front staff was warm and empathetic to my situation and Dr. Richard saved my Boomer's life. I cannot recommend that you trust them more. Thank you HGAE!

Dr. Giacapuzzi talked a big talk... but proceeded to gouge a massive hole in the hoof... when asked why such a brutal and invasive approach, the doctor claimed that his tools were dull and just weren't cutting the way they should... WTF? Two days in their " ICU", I get a call saying that it's time to come put my daughter's horse down. The doctor kept on talking about how we were just a referral from another doctor (which we were not ) and that he felt uncomfortable working on my daughter's horse because he didn't want to step on the other Veterinarian's toes. He suggested that if we didn't put her down that night, then we should take the horse back to the unsanitary barn where she got the infection and let the other Veterinarian come out to the barn to check on the Horse whenever we felt necessary... WTF? He was so concerned about not stepping on the toes of another local Veterinarian that he was willing to give up doing the right thing for my daughter's Horse. Completely unethical, unprofessional, and inhumane When we realized Dr Giacapuzzi wasn't willing to do anything to help our horse, we immediately trailered her to Alimo, a specialized medicine hospital in Los Olivo ca. She's now on the road to recovery with absolutely no thanks to Dr. Giacapuzzi and his team. Do yourself and your Horse a favor and use anyone other than this veterinary practice or Conejo equine
