3.5 stars... We had our one-and-only dinner in Porto at Camafeu- we were only in town for one night and this restaurant came highly recommended.
The ambiance was quite nice- like visiting your great auntie's house. But she's a wealthy great auntie so the views are excellent out of here living room windows.
I actually would like to rate this place a bit higher. But I fear the ambiance was totally ruined by a loud and boisterous birthday party which not only was incompatible with the overall feel of this place (not the restaurant's fault), but really should have been asked to move on (totally the restaurant's fault).
In any case, my dining companion said the octopus here was the best he'd ever had. I can't be as complimentary with my dishes. My pork cheek dish was a bit basic and, though tasty, our sweet potato soup wasn't anything special. I think the goat cheese ravioli was pretty good, but it couldn't snap me out of my annoyance with the stupid party that was ruining it for everyone.
In any case, we still didn't have a bad time (a bottle of good red wine helps). I would recommend you experience this one for yourself. read more
