Calming Lotus Nails - Beige cats eye I love it!! - Waxing Near Me - Whitman, Massachusetts

First and last time I go to Calming Lotus! Felt so rushed, was in and out in 45min... and the place had two people in it! Never asked what shape I wanted apparently just assumed I wanted square, which I prefer round or almond, which 4/10 nails weren't even even!!! A dob of lotion on the back of my hand rubbed in and then told me to wash my hands! She didn't even put the clear coat on until after she sent me to the dryer! Also kissed the side of my nail w the paint HA! Place is a joke! Sone waste ur money! Only went because I needed my gel taken off and my salon was full w/ appts! read more

Great service, I made an appointment and they were so nice and gentle. I always come here, they provide such amazing service. Recommend

I called ahead of time and asked the prices of a regular gel manicure and pedicure, I was told each service was $35. When I payed my total came out to $85, long story short don't go the place will scam you!! Save your money and go elsewhere read more

Love it here Cindy is the best had a broken nail she fixed it love the hot stones too music so relaxing thanks be sick soon.

I absolutely hate giving bad reviews but this one deserves it. I went in yesterday and can't even live with my nails. I showed a photo of what I wanted and they are absolutely nothing like what I showed. When I told them they were using the wrong color they told me I was wrong. One hand is completely different than the other. 0/0 for this salon I DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

absolutely worst nail salon I have ever been to, first off... we had an appointment at 1 o'clock felt like we were being rushed to pick a color when we showed up about 5-7 minutes early. My nails were also before extremely grown out so they needed a GOOD fill. Dirt was still under my nails and it took them about 20-30 minutes to fill all my nails, mind you I get gel acrylics... NORMAL nail salons take about an hour to do that. I can't even rate them 1 star.. service was awful. the woman also doing my nails had her shoes off with her bare feet near mine which is disgusting but I will never be returning ever again. read more

Calming Lotus Nails - Yup they definitely look like shit! - Waxing Near Me - Whitman, Massachusetts

This place has not always provided consistently great service. I think they are in a groove right now in 2024. The staff is pleasant and work hard to ensure you are happy with the results. They maintain a clean salon and appear to follow good hygiene during services. read more

Nails always look great. Yes they talk to each other and answer the phone but that happens at every nail salon. I just care that my nails look good and the place looks clean and they checked both boxes. Hone here about 6 times. Only complaint is sometimes I don't like the way they file my nails but I just ask them not too and it's fine. read more

I wouldnt even give this place 1 star personally I asked for something so simple and ive gone here a few times. It was super rushed and just not thoroughly painted. The girl ended up cutting my skin and said i had "thin skin" ive never had that happen to me before. It completely doesnt look like the picture or the simplest thing a star, what it was supposed to be. Ive given this place a few times and never been satisfied. Not going to be coming here again. read more

Got nail dip for the first time, i usually come here to get my nails done every once and a while because its close to my house. Absolutely appalled at my experience this time around. The woman immediately started dipping my nails into the powder, didn't clean my nails or do my cuticles AT ALL, and then proceeded File my nails with a USED nail file? Nasty.....Disgusted. read more

I went here a couple times on a recommendation and it was ok. I ended up making an appointment for the day before my wedding (5 people total). I made the appointment two weeks in advance. They were SO rude the day of. They told me they weren't used to being so busy. We were the only ones in the salon. The person doing my nails (I got dip) also was very rude and slapped my hand once for moving. Then the day of my wedding someone the dip started coming off one of my nails. No idea how that happened. I went back one more time a week ago and got gel. The woman doing my nails kept ignoring me and I could tell she was doing a poor job. Turns out I was right since the gel started peeling 2 days later. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. In response to the below comment- the 5 people appointment was on October 11, 2019. I was unaware of any ownership change or when it occurred. However, my most recent appointment was absolutely with the current owners. Thank you for responding; however, I have had too many unsatisfactory appointments at your establishment to return. read more

The owner/boss lady is a crook! And I am being nice as there are other words for her. BEWARE of the non English conversations. My sister was charged $67 for a mani pedi and they refused to explain in English what the extra charges were. and told me I couldn't see the bill? What business doesn't show customers a bill?????? Or gets offended when u ask? THEN...... My card was charged TWICE!!! Just filed a claim with my bank!!!! WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!!! Don't give them your business! Two years ago I used to go here. Now it is dirty looking. They had flies flying around probably from the nasty looking limes they squeeze on your fingers. The hand massage was awful . She also did not remove the nail polish that was on my skin. I will not return here . Update : I went back last month . I figured I would give them a second chance. It was even worse than the first time . It is so unclean there now . They rush and do such a sloppy job . The towels are dirty . The instruments are not very clean . I had a gel manicure only and it was peeling in 4 days . This is my final time going here . They should be shut down. read more

So these pictures of this place are very incorrect. These are from the first owner. I use to love going to Calming Lotus. The operator cut my nails way too short, below the quick. My cuticles weren't trimmed. I had a pedicure also and the polish did not go to the edge of the nails. I am deeply disappointed. I had gel, so I really didn't want them removing and doing over so quickly because it would weaken my nails even more. I asked for a refund, but they would not give me one nor do I have the time to back and have them fixed. I also noticed the towels they use for treatments are thrown like balls into the centrifuge. Also the baseboards have a red sticky substance like something like fruit or juice was spilled. The lotion dispensers have old build up around them. Unfortunately, it has become one of the filthiest places in town. I am so very disappointed. I was with my girlfriend and we were having them done together. I have had this operator before. So, honestly, I really didn't get a good look until I was outside in the sunlight and saw my cuticles jaggered and bleeding a little. I called, the manager said come back in and we will fix. Told her I didn't have time. She gave me a 3 o'clock for the next day. The more I thought about it, I looked at them and thought how could they fix these, nails were way too short, cuticles hurt. I figured I would ask for a refund. The manager said no we'll fix only will take 10 minutes. I really don't have time for foolishness. read more

Used to really love this place but the last few times ive gone ive had to walk out. Just today, i made an appointment for 12:30 for mani/pedi. I got there, waited about 10 mins before they sat me for my pedicure which is fine... but they stuck my feet in water and left me there for 30 minutes before someone actually began my pedi. Then afterwards told me id have to wait another "few minutes" for my manicure . Dont tell us to come in for an appointment if you're slammed. Be honest and ask me to wait BEFORE coming in read more

I usually go to a different nail salon but after waiting 40 minutes at my typical place today,I got up and left. I happened to notice across the street there was another nail salon and they welcomed walk-ins! The place was beautiful, immaculate, beautiful chairs, beautiful chandeliers. It was cool and the music was the kind of music you would typically hear if you were getting a massage.....very calming. My toe nails look perfect. My only one complaint is that the woman who did my nails couldn't speak a word of english. Even when I tried to say "my name is Julianne", she looked at me confused. Most women who do nails can speak some english, but she spoke none at all. so she couldn't even introduce herself to me~ read more

I love this nail salon. There's not many to choose from in Hanson... so I'm always searching elsewhere for quality service. Calming Lotus is my favorite. It's always super busy (because it's very popular) but it doesn't show in their skills. Mr. T is my FAVORITE there, I've been to many different salons and he's always made my nails perfect. I'm going again this Saturday to get gel nails redone, but only because they are now super grown out. I got them done 3 weeks ago.... and they're still intact and not a single chip! read more

Calming Lotus Nails - Basically bulletproof gel nails! Still legit after 3 weeks! - Waxing Near Me - Whitman, Massachusetts

Last time I went it was great but noticed some of the girls are a little unprofessional, today it showed how unprofessional this place can be. Had my nails done by someone today who took two phone calls while doing my nails, cried during the session while non-stop talking to another colleague and was extremely rough with my fingers so much I was bleeding. My nails feel so much worse than when I went in, especially after the girl filed my nails AFTER they'd been painted, almost filing my skin off and messing up the paint on my thumb. Not to mention the fact I was charged for a gel manicure, when all I asked for was a classic manicure (and there was no request for the gel throughout or any mention from the girl that did my nails that I'd be up charged). Probably won't go back. read more

I came here to get my eyebrows waxed. I specifically asked the woman for a tiny clean-up, as they were not bad, and to keep them as full as possible. She took off so much of my eyebrows and waxed them HORRIBLY. She overplucked too and cut them so now the shape is a disaster. Not to mention, they are way too thin. Do not get eyebrows done here!! I cannot wait for mine to grow out read more

Super clean salon. One of the best pedicures I've ever had. They accepted my friend and I's walk-in for a mani/pedi even though they closed in a half hour, and even stayed late to do my eyebrows. Will definitely be returning! read more

Beautiful new salon in Whitman. I took my daughter and I here last week for pedicures, and they were amazing. I went by myself today for a full set of nails. Maggie did them, and they're beautiful. The decor is very calming and tasteful, the staff very friendly (especially Maggie!). They have a special until the 31st of 20% off and a free eyebrow wax. Admittedly, I was thinking "Um, I'm probably going to pass on the eyebrow wax, because one mis-swoop, and your face is done for, but there's something about Maggie I trusted, and she was done in literally 5 minutes and my brows look great. I will say, though, they're a new salon, with great reviews, so be prepared to wait a bit on weekends, especially if you don't have an appointment. I'm sure that will all filter out eventually, but it really is worth the wait. read more

They were rude when I came in asking for only a manicure. They kept trying to get me to do gel nails even though I said no three times. Didn't talk to me at all when they were actually doing my nails and the lady left smudges on my fingers. Maybe it was a bad day for them, I'm not sure. But I will not be coming back here. read more

I love Maggie and the rest of the girls at Calming Lotus! They are always friendly and willing to squeeze you in for an appointment. They are very good at what they do. Not to mention that the new building is beautiful and super clean! This is the only place I'll go to get my toes done! read more

I received a gift certificate for Christmas and tried the salon out today. I'm pretty impressed. It's a bit more pricey than I'm used to but totally worth it. I had an anti aging facial. It was amazing. She took her time and didn't rush a thing. The salon is super clean and very well maintained. I'll be going back for other services as well. I highly recommend them. read more

WORST manicure I've ever had. My appointment was at 5 and they didn't take me until almost 5:30. I got a fill with gel polish and I had a broken acrylic. The color on my nails before was red and I got a light purple, you can still see the red polish all over the sides on my nails. On the broken nail they didn't put the white tip on so it is as thin and as short as my natural nail. They didn't put the acrylic powder down to my cuticle so it looks like I STILL need a fill. It was clear they were rushing to get my nails done because it was somewhat busy in there. Do NOT waste your money here. read more

Went to the salon last week don't like it when you walk in the door nobody speaks to you. I had a pedicure done the girl doing the pedicure never asked me one question. I want to relax to have a pedicure she did the pedicure in about 20 minutes it was like she had another customer waiting for her and she couldn't wait to get off my feet and move onto the next person. I would never go to this salon again. The lady next to me waiting for her pedicure said she had to hurry up because she had a go meet your husband somewhere so the girl left my pedicure and move onto woman sitting next to me somebody else from the front had a come out and finish my pedicure. Very unprofessional I feel this was not a relaxing atmosphere for my pedicure at all would not recommend the shop read more

I went here for the first time this weekend for a pedicure. The nail tech clipped my nails even though I asked her not too. She also cut two of my nails causing them to bleed. She then proceeded to put hot parafan wax on my feet without checking the temperature (which was scalding hot) I retracted my foot and asked her to stop, yet she kept attempting to put my foot in the bag not once, not twice, but three times until finally another nail tech came over and told her to stop. She finished the pedicure and painted my toes. I looked down and there were nails barely covered with polish and others with polish left on my skin. I was not offered an apology, or a discount. I needed up paying the full 40 dollars. I'm not hard to please lol but this was the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. read more

The service at this salon is usually great. I have had two bad experiences with the same woman. For what is supposed to be a relaxing manicure and pedicure, I leave there more stressed out than when I came in due to the fact that she is unbearably rough. Her massages are painful and she impatiently pounds on your legs if you are not paying attention and wants you to put them back in the water. When I went there the other day, she ended up cutting me in between my toes. I actually told her she was hurting me and she ignored me. Also when she is painting your nails, she digs her finger nails into your nail bed and its extremely painful. My advice to the owner would be to have her give you a pedicure. I promise you, you will be in pain!! She is an older woman with thick glasses and hair just below her ears. She sits in the back row, second chair over from the right. read more

They are obnoxious about up selling their other services. When I walked in I said I needed a pedicure, I didn't ask for anything else. She asked me twice about getting my eyebrows done and about getting a manicure even though I told her I had just had both done, she even took my hand into hers and looked at my freshly done nails and still asked twice! I know every nail salon tries this, I just wish they'd realize it stops people from coming back. First and last time for me. read more

I brought my daughter in to have her eye brows and lip waxed. What a horrible experience she had!!! she was done in less than 5 minutes. My daughter came out with wax covering her lips (no exaggeration) she was picking wax from her lips the rest of the day. She said the woman was extremely rough. My daughter is a college student and has been waxing for years so she knows the difference between a good wax and a bad. we wont return! read more

if i could rate this place zero stars i would. The workers are incredibly rude and don't know how to do their jobs. i got a full set and asked her to cut them halfway and my nails barely come off my fingertips. The painting job they did was awful, i have white nail polish all over my fingers and it somehow ended up on my hand and they didn't even clean it up. The workers were talking about me to each other and saying rude things i didn't appreciate, and so then told them i would never come back. I told the lady that my nails were too short before she put the acrylic stuff on it, yet she still continued to do my nails. I am extremely dissatisfied with my results. As soon as i walked out, not even ten minutes later two of my nails had broke. Infuriated, i went back and asked them to fix it and they tried to make me pay for it! My nails are completely uneven, and i do not recommend this place for sure. horrible service. read more

The worst manicure I've ever gotten. The atmosphere is nice and they took me right away, but those were about the only good things. The nail technician shaped my nails ok but when it came to paint, it looks like a toddler painted them. They are goopy, thick, and the lines of the French tips are extremely uneven and sloppy. There are missing spots, she cut my finger, and gel polish is all over my skin. She attempted to remove this excess polish by cutting it off with nail trimmers, which was painful and ineffective. When she waxed my eyebrows, she was not gentle at all and they are now very red and still stinging. I regret going and will not be returning. read more
