I came here as it was one of the recommended "attractions" for the Poconos recommended through my time share's checkin materials. The candy is very good. Just like every other mom and pop chocolate shop I've ever been to (where they make the chocolate), candy is sold by the pound. They had many free samples. I took a picture outside with their Easter decor with my children as well as inside in their museum section. My daughter was torn between the foil covered chick and the chocolate Easter bunny or chocolate horse. There are many cute candy selections for adults and children. This is a cute chocolate shop to take a detour to if you enjoy chocolates. The prices are on par with mom and pop shops that make and sell chocolate in my experience. Do try the chocolate honeycomb. Yum! I'm taking off a star because they do not have a restroom inside for customers, only a porta potty outside, which was a pain for a mom with a toddler. As a side note, a small stroller should have no issue inside but a jogging stroller would be too big. I have no idea if they have a handicap entrance or a ramp but I held my 6 month old and entered through an entrance with only stairs. Is it a must see? No. Was it fun for me and the family? Tons of different chocolates and candies here! I tried the sour Santa's and they were so good, I wish I had gotten two bags. They reminded me of sour jacks! I ordered two chocolate covered strawberries 5$ total and I bit into it and the strawberry was soggy. Very disappointing. I threw them both away. My boyfriend tried the chocolate covered bacon toffee and liked it except it had a heavy Smokey flavor, texture was spot on though. The turtle sampler was delicious. The chocolate is so smooth and rich. They have jelly beans we tried those and they were good too. They have a museum inside and we looked through it, was nice to see the history of the candy and the creator! They also own the pretzel factory down the road, we didn't get a chance to go there. If you are in the area it is worth checking out! The chocolate is tasty! read more

Boy, am I glad I stumbled upon this place while up in the Poconos. I walked in while Mr. Callie was giving a chocolate presentation, complete with free samples. I never imagined someone would take the simple goodness of milk chocolate and use it to cover delicious foods like gummi bears, swedish fish, cream cheese, potato chips and BACON. From a food perspective, this was the highlight of my vacation. Despite being an hour away I know I'll find a reason to venture up that way again when the supplies I bought today run low. read more

We tried the pizza pretzel and butter which were both very good. We went in the factory entrance and probably within a minute the man who was working there offered us a free sample and told us if we wanted he'd bring out some dough for us to roll out on the benches and play around with. Which I thought was very nice of him. There's a left handed store which I was amused with since my best friend is left handed so I was sending her snapchats of the stuff. Callie chocolates have been around for a long time, my sister had a country home near by so we always visited. If I remember correctly they used to be very friendly and welcoming. I was there last year and was very disappointed how unwelcoming the two "up in years" ladies were. I do speak with an accent (very proud of) so I don't know if that is why they were not friendly. Samples were given to other people but never offered to us. We just visited again, at my daughter's insistence, and this time the lady behind the counter was a little better, no samples because of the covid, we understood that. Bought a few things, prices very high but it was a short vacation, and we have to help the economy. The pretzel factory, which was also a stop every time we visited the area, is closed for good, the owners moved to Florida. read more

Whatever you can think of, they have covered it in chocolate and it is GOOD! Gummi bears, potato chips, bacon, cream cheese, and even twinkies! The potato chip bark is worth the trip itself - think extra good crunch bar. We were staying nearby at Skytop Lodge and passed this candy store on our way in but it was after hours so we came back the next day. We bought some candy to try and for our parents and in-laws. Our favorite items where the chocolate covered salted caramels and the raspberry creams. We tried them as soon as we got in the car and this box didn't even make it back to the resort. We stopped again before leaving on our way home. Also found out they ship but only when the weather gets cooler... can't wait for the weather to get cooler. read more

Fun place to stop when in the Poconos. They really seem to have something for everyone, not just chocolates. Lots of molded chocolates and pops with various cute themes. Seems to be priced well with other small chocolate and candy shops. Some more unusual things too, such as chocolate dipped potato chips along with the standard chocolate covered pretzels. Lots of novelty candy. Be sure to check out the candy museum filled with many tin molds on display. read more

Callie's is always a must stop for me when I'm in the Poconos area. Mr. Callie and his family have always been friendly to me for ten years now and still recognize me even though I only stop in every other year at a random time. Definitely a great place to stop for a tasty treat. read more

The chocolates here are surprisingly good! My husband and I stopped by to see the shop on Monday. Just to know most of the town's sightseeing spots are closed ie quiet valley farm. So you are really limited on a Monday in this area. read more

I went to Callie's Pretzel Factory with a group of teens. The older staff (35 and up) were very friendly, professional and helpful. The teens were given demonstrations, got a chance to fool around with pretzel dough and taste samples. However, when we went to buy, the younger staff were unfriendly, frowning up their faces, rolling their eyes as if the youth group were annoying. Overall, the pretzels are very good, the store was very clean, cozy and inviting - except for the younger staff behind the counter. The prices are reasonable too. I would have given a higher rating if the younger staff were nice. read more

Not really a destination place, because besides German style soft pretzels, the rest is a glorified candy and popcorn store. That being said, we got the giant "pounder" because it intrigued my 10 year old. I wasn't really thrilled, you know, if it was bad it would be a waste, but the dogs were with us and we'd just finished a hike to nowhere, so "pounder" it was. It was the most perfect soft pretzel you could ever experience. You will never look at a frozen pretzel again! Soft and fluffy on the inside with the perfectly browned crustyness on the outside. They also have flavored and stuffed varieties, but I'm a traditionalist for a first try. read more

We passed this spot a few times while antiquing in the area so finally we decided to go in and get some pretzels, thinking that this was a preztel "factory" so there just may be some bargains. WRONG! At first we were amazed at all the varieties of popcorn and candies all over the place but it was a short lived amazement because the prices were quite steep! Complain all you want about a $1 or $1.50 pretzel on the NYC streets but a small bag of carmelized popcorn for $9.00 is not a bargain no matter how fresh it is or how quirky the factory that makes them is. Fun and creative! So many choices when you walk in. The first thing you see is the long wrapping glass counter with all of the lovely chocolate dipped items; chocolate covered grapes, potato chips!, cherries, truffles...so many options and they're really good. The staff is very friendly and they will give you samples before you purchase. The rest of the store is pretty large and it seems like they have a chocolate mold for any occasion you can think of. If I'm ever in the area again, I would most definitely be making a trip here. read more

Nice selection of candy. Customer service a lacking. No toilets, even for paying customers. The port-o-potty was filthy .... urinal overflowing with urine. They wouldn't let me use the indoor bathroom as a curtesy... despite the condition of the port o Johns. read more

Another cute hidden gem in the poconos! Stopped in on a day trip in the neighorhood. They have every type of chocolate that you can think of! I never thought of having chocolate covered gummie bears or potato chips. They were interesting but good! They offer samples at the cash register so you can try flavors before you buy. Amazing!!! We have been going here for about 17 years and it is just wonderful! We drive almost 3 hours to go here. (We would go to a resort nearby till it closed) Best chocolate. Growing up I came here every year when I went to visit my grandparents and I had such good memories. This year I had the opportunity to return with my own children and it's every bit as amazing as it was. It's beautifully kept, quaint, and just delightful. The selection is wonderful, and there are some unique items. The chocolate is amazing. It's delicious. The price is quite low for most items, compared to what I'm used to for "home made chocolate" living near DC. Add that to the fact that it tastes better, and that's a bonus!
