I do love this place as I think they have the better Mint chocolate chip out of the two ice cream shops on that road. Recently though, I drove by on the way to the post office and noticed that the "closed" sign was not up and the windows were open. So after the post office I decided to grab some ice cream. I pull in and was yelled at the they don't open for another 20 min. It was 11:50pm on a Saturday, so I left. It's things like this customer service that turn me off from returning and hopefully it was just a fluke. As living up in the mountain, Nothing is easy to get to. The staff was very polite, energetic...She greeted us with a smile which hardly happens when ordering from other sweet spots. The menu has various items from sweet to savory. Not sure why this place doesn't have a higher rating. We stopped here one evening during our vacation. The line was short and our order was filled quickly. We got salted caramel and strawberry in waffle cones and a fudge sundae. The ice cream was deliciously creamy and homemade. The strawberry ice cream had so much real strawberries in it that it was borderline too much! The salted caramel was the right combo or salt and sweet. We enjoyed our ice cream so much that we went back the next night. This time we had to wait in line for over 25 minutes and they forgot one of the cones in our order. I just had the best chili, cheese, and onion hot dog I've had in the poconos! I'm gonna say that The Junction can hold its own. Generous size scoops (two of them if you're really hungry) and yummy special cones (like cookie with M&Ms in it) make for a dessert lover's dream. Convenient Lake Naomi location with a fair amount of parking, but not a lot of seating. Come for the quality ice cream (where you can taste the cream in each bite) and keep coming for the reasonable pricing. Next time we're going to try one of their special sundaes! read more

During the time of coronavirus/covid-19, The Junction does not have its employees wearing masks or gloves while making and serving items. Per the PA government site, it is required to "Provide non-medical masks for employees to wear at all times and make it mandatory to wear masks while on the work site. Employers may approve masks obtained or made by employees according to Department of Health policies" If they think so little of the health of their employees and customers I will not be returning and I advise you all the same. read more

Was visiting and driving along the 940 and this local shop caught our eye to our delight. For 8:30 on a summer night there was a good number of families coming here for ice cream and shakes. Large chocolate soft serve was ok. Good enough soft serve, not that big, but price is ok for the quality. Watermelon and cherry water ice was good, nothing special, but refreshing. Strawberry milkshake is very disappointing. Not creamy at all, and more milk than ice cream so it was watery. Strawberry did not taste fresh or natural. Even Chick-fil-A has better milkshake, and that is not a good sign. This is more like a 2.5 star place, but I can't really find anything extra to round up. read more

The ice cream is great but this rime I got a burger. Last time I had one was with the old owners and they were great. This time I ordered a plain burger (almost $5) and sat down to wait for it. Ice cream is good, but we lost our taste for it today when no one working there was wearing a mask. Everyone in line WAS. Kinda shocking that in the FOOD SERVICE BUSINESS they would not be acting with their customer's health in mind. Classic roadside ice cream stand. I think they have a few non-dessert food items (hot dogs and the like), but this is really an ice cream place, including soft serve. They have a limited seating area, just a few benches our front. I recommend their peanut butter ice cream, and they do a "baby" serving size, which is what everyone should be eating, but aren't. This is a good option, and not every ice cream place will serve an appropriately small serving, so here you're not forced to buy more than you want or that is healthy. read more

I love this place. Many different options to choose from. There is hot food and ice cream. Low prices. Friendly staff. The soft serve is AMAZING compared to Rita's or Dairy Queen. There are so many great flavors in hard ice cream. There is a featured flavor every week or every other week which gives even more variety. Only downsides are limited seating and a longer wait time during the holidays. In the next season, I think they're planning on putting more picnic tables out. Overall, I highly recommend for locals or people visiting the Poconos. read more
