My family and I were in the area and were craving some cold ice cream on a warm summer night. We saw that Cliff's wasn't far from where we were having dinner so we decided to check it out. When we arrived, the line was out to the highway. The long line bought me some time to decide which flavor to select out of the 60+ different options. I decided to go with the Graham Central Station after reading some other Yelp reviews and articles about their most popular flavors. It was an excellent choice. The texture was amazing and the cinnamon flavor was so delicious. For a "small" cup, the portion was huge. There's a few picnic benches behind the storefront to sit and eat your ice cream. I didn't get to take any pictures because the ice cream was melting pretty fast. The small cup came with hardly any ice cream. However for two dollars more I got a waffle cone with two huge scoops of two different flavors. In all my years living up in the area I had never been up there. I have to say it was pretty good but I was somewhat disappointed. I had the double chocolate fudge crunch that was excellent. The black raspberry was good but didn't knock our socks off. Neither did the mint chip. I won't be driving all the way back up there when I have some fantastic places around me in Essex/Passaic counties. Service was ok. Still long lines that move quickly as they have many windows and these kids know how to bang out the sundaes and ice cream fast! Father still swears best Rocky Road! Would have loved to try some of the other flavors. $8.15 for ONE regular cup of ice cream, no cone. However, it was very good, but I don't see myself making it a point to come here often. Although they serve ice cream year-round...this review is from a few months ago when the weather was warmer. The other day when the weather was in the 30s...there were still people in line getting their Cliff's fix! They have plenty of parking and In the warm months, expect to wait in line, but it usually moves fast. Their ice cream is so good and worth the wait in line. My fave is the Mint Chocolate Chip flavor. They have a ton of flavors on their menu board; including seasonal flavors. My goal is to try a new flavor each time I visit. read more

Doesn't matter what time of the year, there are always customers from either a couple ordering to 4 full lines waiting for yummy goodness. YES, they are opened all year round!! Stating the obvious, the ambiance of cliff's can be enjoyed in the summer months, or shall I say warmer months at the picnic tables they have. Gives that old school vibe that I grew up too. They also do private events from what I've heard, I've never inquired about it. If you're ever in our town, it's a definite must try! Hands down, my favorite ice cream spot! The ice cream is delicious, and the atmosphere is always lively. However, it does get busy, so be prepared to wait. I think they could improve the flow of the lines; it can be confusing with multiple lanes moving at different speeds. A single, snaking line might work better, allowing everyone to order at one window. It's take out only with a huge parking lot for folks to hang around and munch through their ice cream. Their selection of flavors is far from basic, black raspberry soft serve anybody? The chocolate ice cream was so light it didn't even taste like chocolate. My husband got Pistachio and he said it tasted stale and had no flavor. This is probably one of my most polarizing reviews for me... Food: the ice cream was INCREDIBLE. I personally got a scoop of Bavarian Cream Raspberry Truffle and a scoop of Birthday Cake (regular size) and my wife got the mint soft serve with Oreo crunchies. Aesthetic: cute little shop along 46, definitely that old outdoor parlor feel. Service: really nice girls working at the front, super polite. Off a main road, it's hard the miss the line of locals and people who saw the large home made ice-cream sign that houses this long term institution. There are a ton of super fun flavors as well as all of the classics you would look for if you have a go-to flavor. Not only is there hard icecream, there's soft serve, ice cream cakes, sundaes, and whatever else your heart desires. The people serving your icecream and handling your money all wear masks and expect you to do the same while waiting in line 6 feet apart. I had a sugar cone of rum raisin and the ice-cream was perfectly churned and creamy and wasn't overly sweet. It's really uncommon for me to say this as I eat a ton of ice-cream both in large and smaller produced batch but this might have been the best ice-cream in terms of flavor and consistency I ever had.
