Great little ice cream & soda shop. Off the highway but a great diversion during a long drive. We had numerous sundaes including a traditional banana split, waffle sundae and more. They have a wide selection of chocolates and candies nestled into a historic building. The staff was friendly and efficient. Their ice cream pies looked amazing, but could bring one along since we were traveling. I'd recommend this diversion off of I-476 when you're in the region! read more

If you love old school soda fountains/ice cream parlors and candy shops, make a detour to Chantilly Goods when in the Lehighton and Jim Thorpe areas of the Pocono Mountains. Prices are very reasonable for ice cream sourced from a farm and it tastes delicious. I really enjoyed perusing all the candy options they had on offer. They have a dedicated seating area to enjoy your treats or you can hop on a stool at the counter just like how many old school soda fountains were set up back in the day. Even before peak summer season, there was a steady flow of customers coming through the doors. The staff seemed like local high schoolers, but they were friendly and working diligently attending to each group that came through the doors. The ice cream itself was good; however, the service was disappointing. I initially ordered a banana split, which was served without bananas. When it was corrected, the bananas were unripe and still had the peel on them. I brought this to the attention of the cashier, who stated that the bananas were "not ready yet." So I jumped online and found this place. A little drive and here we were at this cute place. More of a 4.5 star review but close enough I'll round up! The food and ambience were both great. There are lots of options for Ice cream, and the flavors were very good. Most places overload their peanut butter chocolate ice cream with an overwhelming amount of candied peanut butter, but I appreciated that there's wasn't so much peanut butter in theirs. The cinnamon Ice cream was likewise delicious. The ambience is also very good. It has a good old fashioned candy/ice cream shop ambience, but is also unique. For example, you can order and sit at the bar or, you can sit at their chalk tables and draw on them. There's a huge selection of candies to buy, from more mainstream options like Sugar sticks, reeces pieces, etc. to your more premier options like fudge or chocolate covered orange peels. Chantilly Goods did have its distinctive aspects, though, most notably an adventurous flavor menu that included Lemon Crème brûlée. All of the ice cream is made local and the flavors rotate out so the menu may change from day to day. They also sell a wide variety of novelty candy and few basic household items. They take credit cards but the minimum is 10$ so be aware of that. The average Sunday cost around 5$ so you will have to get two to use your credit card. The offer a puppy Sunday with a milk bone, but no dogs allowed so it will have to be to go. read more

This place is a phenomenally wonderful establishment. The decor takes you back to yesteryear- the place in our minds when America was safe and still had it's dignity. It's well kept and "old-timey". The menu is PERFECT. They provide the basics and surround them with well thought out variations of options. They don't big the menu down trying to be so "woke" and unique that you don't know what the heck you are ordering (hint, hint, UNION & FINCH in Allentown!!!). Prices are great. 2.25 for a small cone but that's really a double. Milkshakes for 4.00. If you get chocolate get the really chocolatey that uses chocolate milk. Yum. Tables are chalkboards. My husband and I came here on a Monday night, and while the location of it stinks, the outside of the building and ice cream they have definitely make up for it! Upon entering, they have a cute little "store" that you can buy small things and even have old time candies! On the other side, they have dining area and an old time soda bar to enjoy your goodies. I got the caramel apple soda float and it was so yummy! They even put chunks of caramel in the float so that made it even better. My husband is a plain Jane and just got a vanilla milkshake but he really enjoyed his too. Everyone tells me I have to try their Barnyard Gravy ice cream, so I think the next time we stop in I'll give it a try. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. We took our ice creams to go, so the soda float was in a lidded cup. It overflowed when she handed it to me and some spilled on the floor. I offered to clean it up but she was so nice and said not to worry about it that they will get it. I think they really want you to enjoy your experience with them, and they value awesome customer service. I'd go here again definitely, and next time I'll try their famous Barnyard Gravy. read more

The decor is right from the early 20th century and there are a lot of antiques and what I think is a player piano. Fun ambiance. Wow! They turned an old dumpy store into a very special place, but you are there for the ice cream. It's trucked in from a farm north of Scranton. I had a pumpkin themed sundae that was awesome. They also have a small general store and a laundry in the back. The only thing missing (and I might have missed it) was a small menu.
