My family and I came here a couple weeks ago and entered, the older man there (who I think is the owner) just sat behind the counter, reading his paper and glancing up only to occasionally watch us browse. He never greeted us or asked if we needed help, plus the prices were outrageous, so we left.
The other day, my mother and I went back because she was looking for a specific candy she had gotten at The Crossings that day. I told her it wasn't Chocolate Works because of the rude guy, but we went in anyway to check. This time he greeted us, but when my mom asked about the candy, he laughed and said she must be confused with Sugar Mountain, which closed up years ago. She tried to explain she had gotten the candy a couple weeks ago, and he laughed at her and said, "You're wrong." Wow. She kept trying to explain it might not have been a candy-specific store, but he kept interrupting her and telling her she was obviously confused, there was no other place that sold candy, and once again told her flat-out she's just wrong. At that point we had enough of his attitude, so she said we'll just look around the rest of The Crossings and hopefully we'll find it. As we were leaving, he shouted angrily, "Yeah, well good luck!" We found the candy at the Jerky store, where there was a much more friendly employee.
Even though he knew he didn't have the candy, he could have been nicer about it instead of snapping at my mother and laughing in her face, calling her wrong and confused. So what if we were wrong? We admitted it and just asked if he knew another place. There was no call to be so nasty! read more
