Rude and lack of follow up, should be zero stars. Stephan emailed me Sunday saying that one of his guys was going to try to break from a bigger job to come do my job Wed-Friday. I replied on Sunday saying that would be great just let me know what time. I didn't receive a reply so I texted him on Wednesday. Didn't receive a reply so I texted him today (Thursday) and his response was that they're busy and if I'm going to keep asking they aren't coming....this wasn't a favor, this is business and I need to make arrangements to have someone at my home when they go but I guess he doesn't feel it's important to give that sort of consideration to someone that doesn't have a big job. read more

I would definitely recommend these guys! Very easy to work with and flexible. We had 2 dog doors installed and a few other odds and ends around the house which we had just purchased. Prices were fair and reasonable. We did a lot of texting back-and-forth to schedule days, etc. I know they're a small operation and very busy, but I would've preferred to talk on the phone and save all the texting. This company is top notch! From the customer service on the phone with Stephan to the actual job being completed by Eric, it was an exceptional experience. I highly recommend this company to anyone who needs work on their house. I purchased a new electric range that was supposed to be just a "slide-in" however there was electrical work and granite work that needed to be completed for it to be installed properly because our house is older. When I called Stephan, he walked me through all my options for electrical over the phone and basically told me what to do and that I could probably handle it and if not, they could take care of it. Who does that? Nobody these days. He was just trying to help educate me and empower me to get the job done without paying for the work. So after I completed the electrical, he actually called me to follow up, EVEN THOUGH HE DID NOT GET PAID FOR IT! Amazing. So I had his company come out to cut the granite counter tops to make it slide in a little better and to clean up some edges. Eric came over and he was just as helpful as Stephan was. He came up with suggestions and a great can-do attitude to the job. We had to do some customization that was not originally planned for and Eric was more than happy to oblige. He ended up doing some flooring work for us also to make sure that the range would slide properly. What can I say, but I LOVE these guys. Steph and his crew have done a lot of work on my little house (plumbing, electrical, dry rot repair), and things are looking great! I think my favorite part is that Steph and his guys are very creative when it comes to finding solutions to "old house" problems--not every upgrade or repair is straightforward, but these guys have a lot of experience. Ok, my other favorite thing is that Steph never makes me feel like my job is too small or unimportant--he always finds a way to squeeze my job in--and his prices are absolutely fair (OMG, I think he doesn't charge enough.) I used Call My Guy quite a bit in 2016, 2017 however in 2018 they began having scheduling problems due to demand in service and only a staff of 3 workers trying to cover Napa and Solano county. If the job are requesting will result in significant money then you will get taken care of. However if your job is small you may not get accommodated even if Stephan commits to you which is what happened to me. All I am saying is that one should not have to put their life on hold waiting for them to show up and being left on a hook getting a "Dear John" when it becomes apparent that Call My Guy ain't coming! A customer should not have to chase a person down to find out whether or not they're coming to do a job. This business gets 2 stars for being thoughtless and inconsiderate. read more

These guys like to over inflate the time it requires to do a job. I requested a quote for a partial balcony replacement in Fairfield, CA. I initially started with them because I had not received any other responses from the other contractors until days later. They indicated it would take "56 hours" to do a balcony, which I thought was a bit long, but it was an urgent matter. Days later the other responses started coming in and they were SIGNIFICANTLY lower! And the time frames were also MUCH shorter. The contractor I did the entire tear down and rebuild in a day and a half! During the short stint I was still under contract with Call My Guy, they were charging me for doing nothing, except running dehumidifiers in my property because they transported the wood in the rain without covering it! They quoted me it would be "$4200.00 in labor cost, not counting the cost of materials" to do the balcony. Which was extremely high! The contractor I ended up using charged be "$1600.00" in labor cost! As you see another significantly lower estimate. And the balcony looks excellent! If you are price conscience, DO NOT USE CALL MY GUY!!! They WILL OVER INFLATE the cost!!!! read more

Call My Guy is the kind of company from yester year. It has that mom and pop/small town feel to it. When you call there are no computer prompts and no long hold times. I am a homeowner and I'm not the fix-it type guy. I had a repair need and gave Stephen a call in March 2011. He came over for a quote. Was prompt, courteous and respectful. The repair was completed and I became the 5th client of Call My Guy. Over the years, many projects have been performed, all with 100% satisfaction. To date they have not had to return for incomplete work, faulty parts, etc. However, when any of the staff come for a new project, they will inquire about past projects and/or just check on them. When I started, it was just Stephen. Since then the staff has grown. All of the staff are trustworthy, respectful, professional and experts in their given field. Responsive to questions and teachable moments. I always learn something during a project. My family feels comfortable with them when they are here.
