She is patient and kind as she walks you through the design process and answers your (inevitable) many questions each step of the way. We worked with her to redesign three spaces in our home: our kitchen, and two bathrooms. With each space, she found ways to approach them in new and practical ways when we felt otherwise overwhelmed. She guided us through choosing stunning finishes, and we received so many compliments from contractors and friends alike along the way. We had never done a remodel - and now, being on the other end of the process, we don't know where we would have been had we not had her detailed designs to guide us all along the way. Whenever questions arose, it was invaluable to have something so concrete to refer to, and we can't recommend this approach enough for anyone considering a remodel.

This is a specialty of theirs, and for a fee they'll send a consultant to your home to help you choose colors for the body, trim, eaves, doors, etc. (They'll help you with interior colors as well, of course.) I'm fairly clueless when it comes to this sort of thing, so paying an expert $350 is far preferable to ending up with a color disaster. The woman who came out brought along large color sample sheets (8.5x11) rather than the tiny swatches you get in paint stores, so visualizing what the color will look like on a large area was easy to do. (Anyone who has ever based a paint choice on a single square-inch sample knows how error-prone that process can be.) If, unlike me, you trust your own color judgment, just stop by their shop. They carry two lines of paint:, Devine and Authentic Home COLOR, both of which come in 2 oz. sample sizes for every color they carry, so you can test it out on a good sized patch before committing to a quart or gallon. The paint prices are a bit high - a good $5/gallon over what you'd pay for the best quality Benjamin Moore paint - but the Devine brand goes on so thick that you'll be tempted to stop after a single coat. And given the time and labor investment involved in painting, the cost of the paint itself seems negligible.

I've struggled for some time in writing this review as my experience with Ms. Banak and Authentic…read moreHome was such an overwhelming disappointment I could not put the experience to words. I contacted Authentic Home about 4 years ago, after buying my first home in West Seattle. I wanted to use a local business to support the neighborhood and had not worked with a design firm before. I was disappointed from the start. The designer did not seem to "get me" although I was willing to continue to work with her and make the best of it. It got worse from the start. I had to work around the designer's schedule she did not work with mine. When the products began to arrive to my home, couch pillows were falling apart, fabrics were incorrect and silk curtains were made so poorly a third grader could have done the work. I do know that the "designer" I worked with decided to leave the company during the process and one of the vendors was let go (at least that's what Kathy told me)...it was a mess. What was most disappointing was Kathy Banak's response to my disappointment in the service. I spent over 15K for a small room design and after 4 years it turns my stomach when I look at the draperies and recall the whole experience. I am writing this after such a long time because I think it's important that anyone looking for a design service take this information into consideration. Although I would never purchase paint or anything else from Kathy Banak I cannot speak to the paint/color consulting service Authentic Home provides. I would highly recommend asking for references, reviewing work and understanding what vendors they work with if you plan to take any advice or order products outside of paint color from Authentic Home.

We recently decided that it was finally time to give the restaurant a fresh start and a makeover. Jen was incredible. Her attention to detail, creativity, and final vision are genius. Her knowledge of design and her work ethic are incredible. I've mentioned many times that she reminds me of Joana Gaines from HGTVs fixer upper. Jen is the ultimate problem solver. The hallway to our bathrooms needed lighting and she was able to find an effective and chic fix right away. We had an old bench that my painters suggested throwing away before she stepped in to show them how to spray paint it and refurbish it without spending a lot of their time. She noticed a light fixture in front of the restaurant that I had never noticed and all it needed was a light bulb which transformed the entrance. She free hand painted a mural for us which was amazing. She was able to reorganize seating to allow for more space and more seats. Finally she was able to open up the space and brought in more natural light by choosing different colors/lighting. The space really transformed and we didn't have to do any heavy construction. We planned on doing the restaurant in 3 phases. So far we were able to complete the first phase which has had great feedback from our customers. The restaurant already looks new and I can't wait to see the entire project get finished.

They provided guidance, creativity, and follow-up every step of the way. Their computer-generated kitchen plans and visual images were very helpful in assuring us that the design they described is what we wanted and in the price range we were looking for. Adrian was our assigned on-site contractor. He was phenomenal to work with. His knowledge, skill, reliability, and "easy-to-work-with" personality made the process from demo to project signoff a smooth and stress-free experience. Adrian and Vered never let any unforeseen or unexpected situation alter or delay project progress. They worked together to offer solutions and resolution in a timely manner. Adrian and one or two other helpers did most of the work themselves, so we were never waiting on subcontractors. The project started on time and finished on schedule. They are 2 & 4 years old, so they might as well be kids forever. We never saw mockups, layouts, mood boards, or color schemes. When asked for this info, I was repeatedly told to "trust me." The furniture he recommended, and we purchased, is overpriced, poor quality and unsafe for our children. It has become apparent that he also marked up the furniture for his profit. He didn't wait for fabric approval before ordering, and refused to refund the purchase. We were misled regarding timelines (above and beyond understandable covid delays), emails and texts were ignored for two months out of the six month contract, and he lost the key to our home. I can't say anything regarding his staging business, but I have a lot to say about his interior design services and none of it is good. Eduardo is very persuasive and slick with words, so we believed he had our best intentions at heart. This was not the case. He is well aware of how we feel, and admitted that we didn't get the service we paid for but did nothing to redeem himself or his work. I would recommend avoiding The Enhanced Home if you have children, a budget, or care about furniture quality. I wouldn't trust the positive online reviews, as they appear to be full of Eduardo's family & friends.

Where do I even start? Sherri is the real deal and has a true GIFT when it comes to helping others…read more We have worked with her from 2015 during the organizing process, and her and John in 2016 in the design process. This journey has been a complete LIFE CHANGER. I have to agree with the other reviewer about how she is "part organizer part therapist". Before, my husband and I were in transition going from 2 separate homes to 1, and life was messy and unmanageable...and our home reflected that. We had double or triple of things which were randomly placed. It was so overwhelming that it was a huge source of stress and most likely put a strain on our relationship. What happened? We hired Sherri not knowing how brilliant she was. Her personality is warm, compassionate, and totally non-judgemental. This is so important because messiness can come with shame. She was so supportive in OUR vision of our home, and taught us the skills, tools, and systems needed to organize. I also want to note she genuinely wanted to get to know us as a whole person, not just getting things organized. Now, yes, things can get easily get "messy" but we know exactly where things go and cleaning is quick and easy. No more stress anymore. Things in our home have a system tailored to our lifestyle. I can now organize on my own because I have the techniques I learned with Sherri. Her husband, John is fantastic too, and are glad we got a chance to work with him during our design renovations in our home. He's very professional and organized when dealing with scheduling and contractors. Absolutely recommend Sherri and John!! Thank you for helping us!

I can give you every reason / excuse as to why I hadn't been able to get my act together, but you already know. Christy was able to approach my situation in a way that was caring and fun. She wasn't just trying to help me "get rid" of stuff, but really had me look into why I felt the need to have X in the first place. We'd talk it through, come up with a solution, and act on it. Super cathartic. She'd give me realistic "homework" to do until next time, and of course, I'd make excuse why it wasn't done. No judgement! I looked forward to seeing her each time. Here's the thing. Would my life be better if she lived in my home and did it for me? Sure! And she can " just do it" for the client. But for me, her methods have bled over into every aspect of my life. She "taught" me how to take these methods into work, into a way of thinking when approaching just about everything. And time flies when you are with her. Her personality and optimism is contagious! And she can shift focus at a moment's notice. Don't want to tackle de-cluttering closet today? Really need assistance in digital filing ( organizing that crazy computer, bills, etc)? She can do that, too. Need more sessions with her for sure, but not bc she didn't succeed. But bc I want to continue to better my life and 46 years of habits can be tough to break. And face it, we can all benefit from continuing to grow and be our better selves.
