We had double or triple of things which were randomly placed. It was so overwhelming that it was a huge source of stress and most likely put a strain on our relationship. What happened? We hired Sherri not knowing how brilliant she was. Her personality is warm,compassionate, and totally non-judgemental. This is so important because messiness can come with shame. She was so supportive in OUR vision of our home, and taught us the skills, tools, and systems needed to organize. I also want to note she genuinely wanted to get to know us as a whole person, not just getting things organized. I can give you every reason / excuse as to why I hadn't been able to get my act together, but you already know. Christy was able to approach my situation in a way that was caring and fun. She wasn't just trying to help me "get rid" of stuff, but really had me look into why I felt the need to have X in the first place. We'd talk it through, come up with a solution, and act on it. Super cathartic. She'd give me realistic "homework" to do until next time, and of course, I'd make excuse why it wasn't done. No judgement! I looked forward to seeing her each time. Here's the thing. Would my life be better if she lived in my home and did it for me? Sure! And she can " just do it" for the client. But for me, her methods have bled over into every aspect of my life. I found Gwenn on an internet search. I interviewed a few other designers but hired Gwen after her receiving her detailed follow-up email from the initial visit. In that email she clearly articulated a vision for how my house should be furnished and accessorized. I was sold: "Based on what I gathered from you and your home, I imagine the design of your space would fall somewhere in the realm of warm contemporary, comfy, understated but a touch swanky, masculine, PNW natural / rustic. Neutral and subdued colors, varied natural textures, layered and homey, soulful. Furnished with timeless and quality elements that could work in future homes too." Gwen has executed on the vision perfectly all the while taking my feedback and taste into consideration. Gwen selected furniture, carpets, lighting, art, plants, and décor for my office, living room, bonus room, master bedroom, kitchen, outdoor patio, and hallways. She helped me accessorize my kitchen with all new cookware, knives, silverware, gadgets, etc. Saying that Gwen selected all of these items does not do justice to her work. The pieces selected were of the highest quality. Quality observable to the eye and to the touch. Most the pieces selected are themselves a work of art that give me joy just to look at daily. Some of the pieces were custom made to be the perfect fit for the space. Gwen found the craftspeople and helped design these custom pieces. Gwen was a consummate professional throughout the entire process. She did all the coordination of ordering and deliveries. Gwen found electricians to install the lighting and spent all day here making sure that a custom light fixture was installed. Her punctuality is something that I must comment on because when she told me that she would be at my house at a certain time I could set my watch to her arrival. I sincerely appreciated this punctuality because I believe it speaks volumes to how she cares about her clients and her craft. All of this work and sourcing was during COVID shutdowns when lead times on furniture exploded which made the project more difficult. All of the accounting and billing was online and easily accessible. In summary, Gwen designed the spaces in my home in a way that bring a smile to my face ever day. They are 2 & 4 years old, so they might as well be kids forever. We never saw mockups, layouts, mood boards, or color schemes. When asked for this info, I was repeatedly told to "trust me." The furniture he recommended, and we purchased, is overpriced, poor quality and unsafe for our children. It has become apparent that he also marked up the furniture for his profit. He didn't wait for fabric approval before ordering, and refused to refund the purchase. We were misled regarding timelines (above and beyond understandable covid delays), emails and texts were ignored for two months out of the six month contract, and he lost the key to our home. I can't say anything regarding his staging business, but I have a lot to say about his interior design services and none of it is good. Eduardo is very persuasive and slick with words, so we believed he had our best intentions at heart. This was not the case. He is well aware of how we feel, and admitted that we didn't get the service we paid for but did nothing to redeem himself or his work. I would recommend avoiding The Enhanced Home if you have children, a budget, or care about furniture quality. I wouldn't trust the positive online reviews, as they appear to be full of Eduardo's family & friends.
