This beats all of the gym-based "dance" classes I have ever taken. Drop-ins and varied levels of membership are available so it fits every schedule. (They offer private lessons, as well.) The community is second to none. I get a workout in, listen to great music and enjoy celebrating special occasions with a growing group of friends I'd never have otherwise met. We all work to create space in our schedules to come - it's worth it! The director, Ernesto, is an extraordinary teacher and pours so much training and encouragement into all the dancers.

We both wanted to take country dance classes but didn't like that our only option was a bar. When we tripped across Studio 22, this is exactly what we'd hoped for. This event was organized and well planned with professional instructors who were patient and kind. Studio 22 made it fun, not intimidating. The ratio of guests balanced itself out. They encourage frequent rotation of partners (if you go as a couple, that's okay too), no one person was without a partner for too long. There was a wide range of dance lessons, not just country. The studio itself was very spacious, large enough to hold 50 - 80 people comfortably. There are dozens of four top tables along the wall, no reservations, you have to grab one asap. You are allowed to bring your own water bottles (BYOB). They kept the temperature very comfortable, impressive! Dress code is casual attire, something easy to move in, and shoes you can easily shuffle in. There is a fantastic YELP coupon when you check in: 1 Free Group Lesson. It was under construction, with mirrors on the floor, dust throughout the space, nails, and conditions that did not feel safe or appropriate for hosting a Pilates class. I reached out DIRECTLY rather than leaving a negative review, and Alex at the front desk was incredibly kind and professional. She apologized and offered me a complimentary session, which I appreciated. I actually planned to continue using the space because of its convenience and how the first issue was handled. I had also already paid for upcoming classes. Unfortunately, my second experience was much worse. There was a miscommunication regarding the space and a different room, and the studio was STILL under construction. I requested a call so the situation could be addressed before my class started, but no one reached out. I handled the situation the best I could without immediate support from the staff. While I was setting up for class with my clients present, the owner, Sal, confronted me INFRONT OF MY CLIENTS and raised his voice at me. I was then told I could no longer use the space moving forward and that we were "not a good fit." I would have been completely open to having a respectful conversation and resolving the issue. Especially because I booked 3 other upcoming slots for the month of October. While I was refunded for those, being yelled at in front of my clients was unnecessary and unprofessional. Which is why this review is being left. No apology & UNACCEPTABLE! I recently moved to Dallas from California, and unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression. I will not be returning or referring others to this space. Future Peerspace bookers should also be aware that the space may not look or be provided as advertised.

My instructor, Ryan, has been fantastic, keeping me from feeling discouraged even when I'm tripping over my own feet. After just a couple lessons, I'm surprising myself with what I can accomplish on the dance floor. Besides the excellent instruction, the studio is immaculate and comfortable. I've been coming to Jam Box since February 2017 and I'm so happy I decided to try them out because I'm HOOKED...here's a little bit of why: Funk the Fit - signature class taught by the owner, Dominique. High intensity cardio set to the backdrop of your favorite hip hop and R&B music. Dominque's personality and energy is a hit! It was her class that got me hooked on Jam Box and the reason why I came back and started adding other classes to my workouts. One of my favorite classes. Pound - ever had a bad day and just wanted to smash some stuff? Yes? Then Pound is the class for you. This class is leg day x2. We use rip sticks to pound it out but it's a lot of squats and lunges. When I first saw this class I didn't like it because it was loud....until I was on the other end of the sticks and was able to pound away all of my stress. One of my favorite classes, taught by Megan and Cathy. Booty Barre - Cassie is the Booty Ambassador and she is here to get your booty looking RIGHT. Booty barre is just what it sounds like, barre for your booty. Focus is on form, flexibility and of course BOOTY. Mixing a little Pilates, yoga and ballet. The class actually focuses on the whole body, not just the booty, so it's an overall great class. One of my favorite classes. Bass Camp - Oh mah gawd. Zac shows no mercy. Not for the faint of heart. This is boot camp, you've been warned. Warm up is a mile run and then the rest of the time is pure torture. Not really, but you get the point. Strength training, resistance training, cardio training....all mixed up with a little bit of bass. One of my favorite classes. Hip Hop Step - If you like step aerobics, this is the class for YOU. There's Elena and Terrence that teach this class and although they have different teaching styles and workouts, they're both equally hard WORK. I love them both. One of my favorite classes. Booty Fit - Cassie is back at it with the booty. Booty fit is a mix between Funk the Fit and Booty Barre in that it's a high intensity cardio dance class but it focuses on the lower body - a lot of squats, lunges, twerking and WORK to get that BOOTY fit. One of my favorite classes. Boss Chick Dance - Last but not least is Boss Chick, taught by Kimistry. This class is like a mix between Funk the Fit and Booty Fit in that it is a dance class with a lot of twerking but the music varies from reggaeton to hip hop to dance hall. One of my favorite classes. All in all, I can't say enough about Jam Box, my experience working out here has been amazing and I love that I have this workout community of wonderful women that sweat and jam out next to me. Modern, upbeat classes!…read more The classes offered at Jam Box are full of positive energy. You cant help but move and push yourself to do more. This gym is primarily women as most classes offered revolve around music. The classes are well choreographed and the instructors are fantastic people. It is kept very clean and has a cool waiting room. They have one bathroom so not a full changing area, but some people do change when they arrive.
