I have zero dance skill and was looking for a place to take some bachata lessons. I love that they give you your first 2 classes for $10. I will def be back, just don't have the extra room in my budget for dance classes at the moment. The instructor is great and class is so fun. The hour just flys by. This is a great dance studio. I'm a competitive Latin dancer, but have very little experience with salsa/bachata, so I decided to swing by here on a whim while traveling through Dallas. I was extremely impressed - the classes taught a surprising amount of material very quickly without being overwhelming, and they seemed designed to be friendly to folks regardless of their dance abilities. Better yet, you could tell that the classes were structured to appeal to both solo dancers, groups of friends, and couples - couples could dance to themselves, whereas others could freely rotate as desired. I love Alpha Midway!! Literally my home away from home. Came in with zero knowledge of Salsa or Bachata on the first day of class and I was hooked! All of the instructors do such a good job at breaking down all of the steps so anyone can follow and understand the basics. Within a few months I was doing turns and spins! Rotating with everyone is always so fun because you get to dance with different leads/follows and make friends with everyone. Don't be scared, trust yourself and have fun! The intro class was fun. But once I signed up and paid, it was very disappointing. The instructor could dance, no doubt. But teaching is another thing altogether.The times everyone was supposed to pair up, he was pretty oblivious. Which meant one single guy and one single girl danced alone. He was so urgent that he didn't look around to gauge the understanding of the students. This is simply not teaching. I think a lot of people were frustrated. I paid for a package but I won't go back. If you want to watch great samba moves, you'll love this studIo. If you want to learn, I suggest you try someplace else. read more

I have always wanted to learn how to properly dance bachata, but I have always been too intimidated to learn. My fiancé came across Sal's instagram page and we decided to start with 10 private lessons about 2 months out from our wedding. We just took our 10th private lesson with Sal today and what a great experience this has been!!! Sal is a MASTER at his craft and is patient beyond words. He took a guy that walked in with zero skills and has given me the knowledge and confidence I've always wanted when dancing bachata. Moving forward, I'm actually pumped to attend his Salsa and Bachata group classes so we can perfect what we've learned, and even more pumped to show off my new moves at our wedding. This is one of the highlights of my week whenever I go for a private salsa lesson with Sal! He has fantastic skills and is great at breaking down the movements/ moves he teaches me. I came in with zero salsa/ bachata ability, and I feel like I have made so much progress! It has definitely improved my confidence and makes me want to get out on the town and dance more (when safe). The facility is clean, spacious and convenient and prices are super reasonable for all of the the knowledge and fun you will have. Was very surprised at how great these classes are! The studio is clean and everyone is very friendly! Brianna was great at teaching and i was pleasantly surprised how awesome the whole experience went! I went to a salsa and bachata class and Having never danced salsa or bachata theyre beginner classes were very easy and fun! They offer an array of levels, Latin dance styles, and have something every weekday. Multiple instructors that are very approachable and answer any question you got. Have been going to Alpha Midway for 4-5 months and it has been so much fun and fulfilling. The instructors are very knowledgeable and caring about the craft, and if you keep showing up it is basically a guarantee that you will be a dancer. Love this place!! The level-based dance classes available weekdays are a a great way to get a feel for the energy and learn the basics. I've done Level 1 Salsa and Bachata on Tuesdays and Thursday's and it's so much fun! My husband and I took private lessons with Sal for our first dance at our wedding and he was incredibly patient! He's an amazing choreographer- came up with all the moves for the song we had picked and made sure we were ready and comfortable for our big day!! I highly recommend him and all the staff! read more

The studio is clean, but anything nice I have to say about the studio is being overshadowed by poor customer service and lack of professionalism. I booked a 2 hr session in Studio 7 for $25 an hour. I was charged an additional $25 refundable deposit (Not sure why, but this is what I was told via text). I completed the 2 hrs I was there for and asked for the $25 dollars to be refunded back to me. I have been ignored, when I finally got someone to respond, they claimed to be checking with Sal. It's not clear on what needed to be checked since I provided screenshots of what I was told. I tried to send a refund request via Venmo but it was canceled by Sal without explanation. I tried to send a request again and made a mistake and accidentally sent Sal money trying to request my funds back. So now I have $50 dollars that are due back to me. This is very unfortunate! I work hard for my money and I use it to pay for something that I love, which is dance. Be aware of any transactions handled by this company. I will not be investing any more of my money in a company that is willing to STEAL from and CHEAT paying artists in order to earn a dollar. Where is the INTEGRITY in that? See screenshots! read more

I had been to a couple salsa/bachata dance studios in Dallas but this was the one where I truly enjoyed going to class the most and in which I learnt the quickest. The instructors keep you dancing the whole class and come up with fun challenging choreo and want to see you improve! I hated dancing. It used to make me incredibly self-conscious and nervous and sick to my stomach just thinking about it. My wife, however, loves to dance. We've been married 5 years now and probably gone dancing together once a year on average. That makes my wife sad. So this year, I told myself that I would get over my hatred and fear of dancing so we could dance together. I looked at several dance studios that teach salsa (my wife's favorite) and have tons of experience with beginners. I contacted a couple, but Sal of Alpha Midway Dance Studio always responded immediately with helpful information. The private dance lesson price was perfect, and you get a talented instructor that has tons of teaching experience. As of this week, I've taken nine private lessons with Sal and Karla. Two lessons have been with me and my wife dancing together. Sal and Karla helped teach me in secret to surprise my wife. I NEVER in my entire life imagined that I would say this. I love salsa dancing. I love it. I can't wait for us to go out and dance together for real for the first time in our married life. It has meant the world to my wife that I went out on a limb and learned to dance. On top of all of this, I've never taken a single dance lesson. Not once. I managed to keep myself out of social dance class in school and avoided it until now. If the instructors at Alpha Midway Dance can teach me to salsa AND love it, they can teach anyone who puts their mind to it. We plan to continue learning in the group classes and go out with the other students to a weekly mixer that Sal hosts at Skewers. This is the best Studio if you want to learn Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba. I took my salsa and bachata lessons here. I am very glad I did because after going around to other studio I realised this studio had the best instructors. What they taught me stuck with me. The instructors are very friendly. Moreover, I made lots of friends my age (24) at this studio. They treat you like family. The studio is beautiful and it can host events. They have classes everyday of the week (different levels). They also provide private lessons, couples lessons, wedding dance etc. They also have a dance team you can request for your event. I do like studio. And how clean it is. All of the staff are extremely helpful. The only issue I have with this place is the set up of all rooms. It can be a bit noisy at times when trying to have a rehearsal. sometime we'll hear other practices or lessons going on. And during your session of having the studio people have to walk through to get to another side of the studio. But I really do like the location and the atmosphere and it looks like they always have events going on which is really cool. read more

Sal and Karla are they best instructor, best people you could ever meet. I've been going to alphamidway dance schools since my new years resolution of 2015 till today and on. I had a few issues because a class was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances and without hesitation they gave me two extra classes. They aim to please the students and help teach us to dance. Their goal is for us to dance and represent Alphamiday as good dancers. I'm very happy going to school here and you will be to. I stumbled across Alpha Midway Dance Studio about a year and a half ago when Briana was the instructor, and after one class was hooked. I immediately signed up for 10 private lessons and an unlimited month pass, and never showed up again, until around May I remembered that I had paid for all these private lessons that were about to expire. Come to find out the private lessons had expired, but Sal was nice enough to extend the private lessons for me for an additional three months. About seven private lessons in, Sal recommended coming to the group classes, which I was hesitant about due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After talking it over with my girlfriend we both decided to show up to the classes, as Sal pointed out the classes keep up with CDC guidelines by making sure that everyone is six feet apart, temperature checks when you walk in the building, and hand sanitizer. After beginning going to the class in August, I have pretty much been to every class since, and have been amazed at the progress that I have made thanks to the awesome staff of Sal, Lindsey, and Orlando. They all have a unique way of teaching the class, and you come away having a good understanding of the moves that you are practicing after each class. Both level 1 and level 2 classes give you good array of moves to add to your dance, and all the instructors do a good job of showcasing how to implement these moves. I have also recruited a few of my friends to the the class and they as well have noticed an incredible difference in their progress. With Alpha Midway, Sal provides you a comfortable learning environment to progress your salsa/bachata skills at the level that is appropriately geared for you. In addition, the studio provides monthly socials, weekly dances at the nearby restaurant La Fisheria, and a good group of friends. I went from thinking I'd sign up for ten private lessons and be done with taking dance class, to signing up for dance class daily and an additional twenty private lessons, and purchasing dance shoes. Thank you to Sal and the Alpha Midway team for providing Laura and me with your friendship and a fun learning environment to continue to grow. Wow, I love this studio. I took my first salsa class at another great studio in April of last year, and have sort of bounced around trying different studios and instructors since then. (Like dating!) And I've learned a little everywhere I've gone. But I think I'm home now at Alpha Midway. Karla and Sal are amazing teachers.
