We came here for dinner after visiting the nearby corn maze. We had reservations and were seated right away. We could see they were busy but our server was nice. The place had music but it was not too loud, and you could easily hold a conversation. We ordered drinks and meals after a few minutes. It took more than 15 minutes for our drinks to come, so it was not off to a great start. Then my food came and I had eaten half of my food before the next dish showed up. And at least another 10 minutes before the other two dishes came out. It was not a great way to eat a family meal. However they are still getting 3 stars because the food, once it all finally came was delicious. My pizza was amazing, one of the best thin crust pizzas I have had in a long time. My daughter's chicken sliders were great, and the two pasta dishes were very good. So all in all not bad, but drinks and food service were very slow. read more

We are at the Southgate Location ( not on yelp ?) The food tasted amazing ! We had the works Pizza ( without olives) and the Spinach dip ! The pizza was fresh and cooked to perfection , the sausage meat was incredible! The dip was garlicky and smooth , with lots of chips for dipping . The service was top tier , they answered all our questions and gave great recommendations and I loved the ambiance!! Nice seating beautiful lighting and not too loud ! We went after 8pm for the specials and will most definitely be back again . My partner would have like more craft beer selection but since I don't drink I didn't deduct points for this lol. I first tried California Pizza Kitchen in 2000 when I was there for my cousins wedding. I liked their food then and nothing has changed. My favourite pizza is the California Club with the piles of arugula on top. My second favourite is probably the works. This location is kinda slow on the service. I've been here 3 times and every time the food took a while to come out. I feel like it's actually part of their business plan to encourage more drinks or appetizer sales. Just a theory though. Patio has roll up style garage doors for open air or closed seating perfect for the summer patio season. They can accommodate large parties as well. read more

I checked this place out for dinner last weekend. There was about a half an hr wait when we tried going at 6pm on Sunday. The inside was modern and aesthetic. The AC was turned very high so it was slight cold dinning inside. We tried the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza($20) with Cauliflower Crust add on ($2) and the Spicy Milano Thin Crust pizza($22). The waited about half an hr for our pizza to come. They were both tasty and warm out of the oven. I find that their pizzas are crispier than other pizza places. The cauliflower crust tasted pretty much the same as the thin crust pizza so I'm not sure if it's worth the $2 add on. Overall it's a decent pizza place! I wouldn't say it's a place I would crave often but I wouldn't mind coming back in the future. read more

I meant, I don't know why this place only got 3 stars, but I will do 4 for it. Foods are not bad except the "Devil Hot Wings" that's one of the wings I will never ever get one more time. Second time here since I really enjoyed my first visit. Parking is still really tight which I was surprised as it was already 1PM and the lot was 90% full. We were seated immediately on the indoor patio but the sun was in my eyes so we had to move over a table. Nice decor, nice ambiance. Tons of gender neutral single person bathrooms (I think I counted 8!). I tried the fish tacos. They were very fresh, saucy, fish was moist but I wish it was bigger and overall just not the Best I've ever had 7.5/10. House salad was great and I would get again. Friend 1 got the Thai chicken salad and loved it, she said it was a touch spicy but in a good way. Friend 2 got the California Turkey Sandwich with the tomato bisque soup (for an extra $2). He was very happy with his sandwich and soup. Soup was rich and creamy and very flavorful. Sandwich was full of turkey, bacon and bread was all a great combo. I came here for dinner on a weekday. There is plenty of seating room and a large indoor patio that wraps around the restaurant. We arrived early (4:30) so the place wasn't that busy. Although they had many staff on deck, the wait for food service was pretty slow. We had the mac n cheese balls, fish tacos, pizza, truffle fries, and butter cake. The cheese balls were not a table favourite. They were very bland and the texture was off. We also didn't care for the cheese sauce it came with which reminded me of the nacho "cheese" from movie theatre dispensers. You only get 6 tiny pieces for $14. Not worth it at all! The rest of our food was really good though. They use salmon to make their fish tacos which is different compared to most places. The tacos were very filling and their truffle fries and dip were delicious. I wish they would give you a bigger dip though for the fries and tacos. It came in a small container that didn't last. The butter cake was fantastic and a pretty good size too. I love how it is served warm. We shared it amongst 3 people and we each got enough bites in to be satisfied with it. They have happy hour however, it's not really much of a deal. They selected 6 appies and they are only $1 off, mac n cheese balls are "half off" but the gag is you're paying $7 for 3 instead of $14 for 6 (not a deal!). Their drinks are also still expensive coming in at $11-12 for happy hour price. Not great at all. I thought the bathrooms were cool. I love how they are all private individual bathrooms with sinks. They were very clean too. I was told by the waitress to stick to weekdays or come early on the weekends as it gets ridiculously busy. I saw that CPK was going to open up it's first Canadian restaurant in Edmonton, and typically I am not a "Need to be the first customer" or "Need to be there on the Grand Opening" kind of guy. Arrived and yes, CPK was busy. There were a ton of staff and patrons in the place. The restaurant is very typically CPK designed and decorated, also this place is very large compared to the CPKs that I've been to in the US. Being opening weekend, we had been prepared to wait a long time for a table. The Hosts said that we could wait for a table or sit immediately at the bar... The Bar it is. Once at the bar, there was an abundance of staff, and numerous folks were available to ask questions, get orders put in, etc. We decided to go with the California Club Pizza. I've had this in the past, at US restaurants, and really liked it. Once the order was put it, we expected to wait a fair amount of time, just due to the volume of people there, and the opening weekend kinks needing to be worked out. Surprisingly our order came up very quickly and some of our new friends around the bar area were curious to know what kind of Pizza we had. Our pizza was hot out of the oven with fresh greens and avo. Delish ! Overall, CPK's winning recipe for food and service has translated well to the First Canadian location. Our Pizza was delish. One of the Bartenders (from a Florida CPK) had suggested the Butter Cake, which is a warm cake with Ice Cream. Again super delish. CFK pizzas are all great. I usually order the Cali Club. Our server today was Daphne Bernie and she was fabulous. She was also our server last time we were here months ago and she remembered us. Service was as fast as we wanted and she has such a great sense of humour. She is certainly the epitome of what everyone hopes for as a server when they go out for a meal. She was very attentive to our needs even though the restaurant was quite busy. Ask for Daphne's section next time you are in Windermere CPK. Top notch! read more

We've been waiting a while to finally try CPK since it came to Edmonton but sadly it didn't quite live up to the hype. We went for lunch and the restaurant had some other customers but it was not even close to full. Service was slow and overall not very good despite the restaurant not being busy. We got the BBQ chicken pizza, which was not very good. The crust was chewy and bland and the chicken was dry and chewy. The California Club pizza was difficult to eat and also had a bland and chewy crust but the toppings were tasty. On a more positive note, the ambiance and vibes in the restaurant are amazing. They have very attentive service staff and I have enjoyed everything I've eaten off the menu. Well, let me start by saying I always try to give grace to restaurants that are newly opened. And I'm doing that with two stars. Our server was clearly not the greatest as we were at the bar and could hear how the one bartender was offering excellent service to those around us, but ours was quite the contrast. She didn't tell us there were happy hour specials (it's on the back of the menu booklet), while the other bartender told every one of his customers. She told us they didn't have spinach dip, only for us to overhear the other bartender tell his customers that they do have spinach dip today (but didn't yesterday). Honestly, I wouldn't care too much about the poor service if the food was amazing. But it wasn't. The pizza I ordered tasted like ash/soot. I thought I must be crazy because how are people eating this? I was so hungry and I tried to eat as much of it as I could because our server seems to have disappeared. I ate three pieces. My spouse finished his spaghetti which was meh (lacking in sauce and chicken was very dry). The server then asked us if we were all done and I told her about how the pizza tasted like ash and she said "I guess you don't want a box then"? LoL for real. Honestly the pizza was also very dry. Just unpleasant. It needed sauce and a clean oven. I will say they were generous with the cheese. So anyway, we paid $75 (incl tip) for a pizza that is smaller than what you get at Famoso, spaghetti with maybe half a dry chicken breast, one non-alcoholic drink ($6) and one alcoholic drink ($13). We had a tea and gingerale and it took 45 minutes for it to come. They tried to bring me a strawberry margarita twice. I finally got the margarita at 6pm. And then tried to charge full price. I felt bad for our server, Natasha, because she was great but circumstances beyond her control made the service terrible. The music was so loud she couldn't hear our order nor could we have a conversation. However, she kept coming by with refills and to communicate when our food was coming out. I love CPK, I've been going to this restaurant for years in Chicago so when we were visiting home I seen they opened one. I understand it's their 3rd day open but the wait time for the main course was way to long, I wasn't asked if I wanted another drink (which was a Caesar) and thank god she didn't ask, it was 11.75.... ELEVEN SEVENTY FIVE, it was more expensive than a starter Caesar salad. Then when we want to pay and leave is the exact time they tell us they only accept CREDIT CARDS... had to leave, go to Safeway for cash and come back. Beyond annoying. I went on a Sunday afternoon so there was a 5-10 minute wait. The place was quite busy but staff were all very friendly. The outdoor patio was really nice so if the weather is warm I recommend you try to sit out there. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza and bbq chicken pizza. I like a lot of cheese so next time I'll ask for extra. Both pizzas were delicious though. Didn't take took long to come out. Server kept our drinks topped up. I really wanted to love California Pizza Kitchen, but after three meals here I have to take another star off my review. My first dine-in experience was pretty rough, and after doing both a take out and delivery order I am really unimpressed with the food. My most recent meal was the Waldorf salad with chicken, and the chicken was absolutely some of the worst I've ever eaten. If I had been dining in, I would have sent it back. Whatever grill was used to cook the chicken was very dirty and it smelled and tasted like char and old grease, along with being dry and tough. We had an order of grilled bread with our meal and it was cooked on the same grill, all four people in our dining party either smelled or tasted it and we threw it out. The pizza is just ok - crust a little too tough and too scant on the toppings. I found this to be the case with the pizza on our most recent order, and another one in February. I won't be returning to CPK for a while, there are too many other better options in the area. read more

The positives are the food and decor are great! We had terrible service upon arrival unfortunately though. The hostess Manager working the front asked the stewardess to seat us in the patio area. We had two small children with us so once we got comfortable and ordered some drinks and an appetizer my husband went to change the baby in the bathroom. The hostess Manager came up and told me that our table was reserved for an hour from now. I said no problem, we have two small kids so we will be quick anyways. She came back again and said she would need to move us from the patio to the other side of the restaurant inside. No problem, still no apology and not a lot of help as I collected everything to move over. We got to a table and then got settled in. She came back a minute later and had us move another table over to accommodate the high chair. I understand we need to be in a certain location for safety with a high chair so it isn't a hazard but we asked her for the high chair and booster when we first arrived so she was well aware. After the move to the third table, I inquired if someone could let me husband know where we were moved to as the bathroom and original table were on the other side of the restaurant. She said she would do it herself. Unfortunately, she made no effort to do as promised so I had to run across the restaurant to let me husband know but had to hurry so my young child already set up in their booster seat would not be left alone. I don't mind being accommodating but was really disappointed that after all of the hassle there wasn't even an apology and she treated me like it was my fault in the first place. Tonight my husband and I decided to try out the new California Pizza Kitchen just opened last week in our neighbourhood. Not having been to it in the US, we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The building is large, light and airy. We were greeted right away and seated. Our waitress was Sidney and she was amazing! She is chatty, friendly and outgoing. She kept checking on us and made sure we were well taken care of. I'll definitely will be asking for her again when we go back, and we will for sure. I had the ShangHai rice bowl with salmon and it was the best I have had in a long time! My husband had the Hawaii Pizza and I had a little taste. The crust was amazing, very light and airy and in the open kitchen you can watch them toss the dough. I am so happy they chose our neighbourhood to open up in. read more

Don't order a side of clam for your beer or you'll be charged $5 . I questioned the manager, Victoria when I got my bill and she told me that was their price. Ok so we went to try it for the first time and I have to say I am fairly disappointed about our visit, ill start with the service, service was great and the waitress and host were great and always had a smile on their faces and once we got sat down *only waited about 10 minutes* the host said we will be amazed by the food so I already had a good sign of things, the menu was very cute and had a lot of options so we were ready and started with the cauliflower bites, they were extremely cold like it seemed like they came out of the freezer and never got deep fried at all, then we ordered the tomato soup, the salmon and the Carne asada pizza. The tomato soup was very cold as well which was disappointing because it had a good taste, then we had the Carne asada pizza which was ok I felt like it needed more sauce on it as it was fairly dry but the pizza dough was great, then the salmon was actually very good very warm and I loved the taste of the smoky wood on it. The manager did come to my table and apologized about the issue and took off the two dishes out of bill. before Covid our group would go to CPK weekly ONLY for thee Chicken Milanese. They stopped serving it when Covid began and we call every week and they still don't have it. Finally made it to CPK... it's been by a long time since I have eaten here due to no travel to the US and COVID. Came around 3:00 to beat the lunch and supper peak times. Needed a table for two and had to be seated in the lounge. If we wanted a table we needed to wait 5 min. I understand not having enough servers. Menu had lots of options besides pizza and specialty cocktails and drinks. They have a happy hour 3-6 pm so was able to order the cauliflower appetizer which was really good but appetizer size so more like a tasting for 2 people. Ordered the works pizza, unfortunately we were brought the wrong pizza. We thought something was wrong as it was a thin crust and missing the veggies. Had to go the front to get our waitress. Explained to the waitress we were brought the wrong pizza and she brought ours very soon afterwards. The pizza was good topping were fresh but not as good as I remembered it. Another mishap our crushed chili container was spilled by the waitress with our water refill. Went to pay for bill our waitress shift was over and she forgot to handover to the bar staff. We waited awhile to pay the bill. Overall, would only rate 3 stars as the pizza is good but over $20 and unfortunately not the greatest service. This is about the new California Pizza Kitchen in terwillegar. I lived in California for over 10 years and supported the Cal Kitchen many times. My daughter took me to terwillegar today for my birthday. The Pizza was terrible.....burnt....crust was like cardboard. My son in laws fettuccine was curdled. DO NOT waste your money.
