    Master closet - missing doors
    Steph G.

I've had 2 experiences with California Closets; one for my own home and the other for my parents house, both experiences were great! My parents experience was about a decade ago, so I'll stick to this latest experience. In May I made the decision to make my life easier by organizing the two bedroom closets in my home. My new home had significantly less closet space compared to the place I rented for ages, so this was quite an adjustment for me. I have ALOT of clothes and shoes. Yes, simpler cheaper solution is to get rid of things! But I empty my closets out quarterly and donate bags of clothing, so this was a much larger issue. I went onto the CC website and requested a free in home quote and was immediately scheduled for something the following Sunday. Laura was great through the whole process. She came prepared with color samples and we arrived on 2 designs that would maximize the space in my smaller bedroom closets: I even went a bit fancy with the bedroom design and added a cabinet because the doors in the show room were SO beautiful. I lucked out and there was a Memorial Day sale going on. I got a great deal on the two designs (roughly $2k) and got scheduled in July for installation. Keep in mind summer time is super popular for housework, so wait times for installation might vary. My delay to installation was partially due to the backlog, but I could have gotten in earlier on the books if it weren't for business travel. Regardless, the process was great. The installation was a breeze. Note you have to remove all previously installed shelves and closet doors ahead of your installation. Mine had been popped out before my trips so when my installation guy arrived he was able to get right to work. Installation took about 3 hours and I loved how efficient he was ( I wish I remembered his name for a shout out). They have wonderful options in the store room to help you get inspired! I'll be coming back to them when I upgrade from condo to home in a few years!

California Closets gets an A++ for their style, quality, durability, and fine installation. My sales person/designer Ashlynn Emilani was a joy to work with and she helped me get the exact products to transform my spaces. I now have CC products in my garage and 3 bedrooms, including the latest "Murphy Bed"/Desk installation. Sure, they're pricey--but their products boost your home value and the transferable Lifetime Guarantee to a subsequent buyer of your home is a real selling point.

Stephanie drafted three designs for us with different price ranges and we ended up going with a combination.

But hiring Iris was one of the best investments I've ever made for my family. I was a new mom at the time and felt extremely in over my head. She completely transformed my kitchen in a way that actually works for real life. It's been about six months since she organized everything, and my kitchen is still completely functional and easy to maintain. Every single thing has a home, and for the first time ever, I've been able to keep it that way. If you've ever felt overwhelmed in your own home, I highly, highly recommend Iris and her team. They don't just make things look pretty, they make your home easier to live in. Next up for me: my closet and my front hall closet! Life is stressful enough; your home should be a space that brings you peace, not stress. Iris helped give that back to me.

I thought I could handle reorganizing my home on my own (I mean, I watched that Marie Kondo show…read moreduring the pandemic). But as soon as I started, I realized it was so much harder than it looked. Sure, I could get rid of things or put items away, but actually creating a functional space that would stay organized when life gets busy is a whole different story. I consider myself organized and have bought all the bins before, but what I lacked was cohesion and functionality, something that only comes from professional experience sourcing the right products and designing a cohesive approach. Cue Iris. I could not be more grateful for the peace, functionality and organization Iris has brought to my life! There are so many things about Iris that made her the right person to work with. For one, she deeply cares about getting things right. Whether it's your taste and preferences or your needs for functionality, she is meticulous in designing a plan that will work for you. As an example, we have a rabbit, so we have to be careful about certain types of products we use and what's accessible in his space. She sourced items that would keep our space tidy while also keeping him happy and safe! Additionally, Iris ensures your home is a living and breathing space. She creates systems that aren't just temporary, but that you can grow into. We all know that all too familiar feeling of shoving things into hidden spaces just to get them out of sight. With Iris, she helps you think through the intentional use of space and finds a functional space for what you need, while (gently) encouraging you to purge the things you don't. Iris transformed not just my home but my entire approach to organizing. Her eye for detail, sense of style, and skill in creating systems that are sustainable (and beautiful) left me feeling genuinely relieved and so much lighter. I didn't even realize how much my cluttered, chaotic spaces were impacting my well-being. Now, every spaces flows, each item has a purpose, and I feel calmer, more productive, and happier just being in my own home! I work from home so this is extra important! We invest in so many different things, but often overlook just how impactful our physical environment can be in our own health and happiness. If there's anything I learned from this process, it's that hiring a professional organizer and stylist is key and Iris is easily the best of them all.

She is patient and kind as she walks you through the design process and answers your (inevitable) many questions each step of the way. We worked with her to redesign three spaces in our home: our kitchen, and two bathrooms. With each space, she found ways to approach them in new and practical ways when we felt otherwise overwhelmed. She guided us through choosing stunning finishes, and we received so many compliments from contractors and friends alike along the way. We had never done a remodel - and now, being on the other end of the process, we don't know where we would have been had we not had her detailed designs to guide us all along the way. Whenever questions arose, it was invaluable to have something so concrete to refer to, and we can't recommend this approach enough for anyone considering a remodel.
