I called Jolene at 2pm on the day of my November evening event. It was super cold out and I needed…read moreheaters and blankets to make an important meeting comfortable. I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive. I'm from out of town so I'm probably not a repeat client (wish I could be!). And I had a very last minute weekend request. And Jolene pulled through 110%. I would trust her to plan just about anything. You'll be in the best hands.

Heather & team's expertise, calm demeanor, detail orientation and professionalism were world class. Every vendor we spoke with had nothing but amazing things to say when they found out we were working with Calluna. I would recommend Calluna in a heartbeat.

The owner of this company is probably the most money-hungry, non-empathetic person I have ever had…read morethe displeasure of meeting. Heather forces her clients to use vendors that are not the best, but provide her with money back for booking with them. She receives all kinds of gifts from bands, rentals and even flower shops in the form of paid trips and actual cash. She receives massive kickbacks from her rental company that she keeps rather than giving that discount to her clients. The volume of unethical behavior from this company is insane and I'm so glad I found all of this out prior to booking my wedding with her. My advice, find a company that understands ethical business practices and book with them. Because with Heather, you'll pay her $25k for rentals and she'll walk away with $5k of it for her own pocket. But, she will try and charge you a percentage of the cost of the entire wedding as her fee while increasing the costs of these vendors to double dip. I bet if you ask any of the people that used her services listed on this website, they'll all tell you that budgets were blown way out of proportion because that's just how it is. Nope! You paid for Heather to live in Boulder and pretend like a big shot around town. If I were any of you, I would demand my money back. To people looking to book with this company, beware, you will pay a hefty overage just to support the owner. Find anyone else and make sure they don't have "preferred" vendors as she likes to state.

I really hoped I would never feel the need to write this review, but based on both our planning…read moreexperience and what happened after our wedding, I cannot recommend Ivory Events. We paid $6,000 for full-service planning of a large, complex wedding with 200+ guests, ~30 vendors, multiple venues, transportation, cultural ceremonies, and live food stations. We paid 50% upfront and ultimately paid the full contracted amount even though we ended the relationship more than 2 1/2 months before the wedding. Our concerns began only a few months into planning. We raised them in fall 2025, things improved temporarily, and then similar issues resurfaced. My mom and I repeatedly had to follow up, correct information, and often handle planning work ourselves. We received incorrect vendor communications and were copied on emails relating to other clients' weddings. When incorrect information was sent to one vendor, Ivory told us the employee acted "without authorization," called it a "serious breach of our standards," and said she was no longer with the team. We had not asked for anyone to be fired and actually felt terrible about that. Our concern was how the mistake reached the vendor and what would prevent it from happening again. Vendor sourcing also required repeated follow-up, and several times I ultimately found vendors myself because recommendations were taking too long. Of the three Ivory-recommended vendors we hired, two were among the most difficult vendors we worked with; our photographer was excellent. We also experienced email threads where follow-ups did not appear to account for information already discussed. When we raised this, part of the explanation was that my mom and I were also communicating with vendors, even though there were situations where we stepped in because the communication already needed clarification. We were reassured that budgets, tracking sheets, vendor details, and timelines were carefully organized, while I was personally centralizing contracts and vendor information and knew there were still gaps. Budget was another major concern. I raised it early, and we had been told our ~$150,000 budget was workable. As costs increased, I felt I received more reassurance about stress/anxiety than concrete budget tracking and overage discussions. By the time we terminated, we were significantly over budget. The timeline became a final breaking point. We had to ask and follow up for it, and it contained gaps, inconsistencies, placeholders, and missing logistics. The initial response emphasized prior conversations, recordings, and transcripts. After reviewing it, Ivory acknowledged a technical issue with Timeline Genius and said it was correcting errors and missing vendor/transportation information. We terminated Ivory more than 2 1/2 months before the wedding, and Ivory acknowledged it in writing. Another planner handled the remaining planning and executed our wedding beautifully. Afterward, Ivory publicly stated it had planned our wedding "almost to the end." Its Marketing Coordinator later contacted our photographer requesting our completed gallery to "feature and submit [it] to several publications." Neither my husband nor I was included. Our contract stated permission would be sought before publishing personal photos. Our photographer contacted us first, and we instructed him not to share it. Correspondence later characterized the request as an "inadvertent oversight." Any one mistake can happen. What ultimately caused us to lose confidence was the cumulative pattern and how the issues were handled. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Ivory Events.

Hiring Ivory Events was easily the most stressful part of our wedding planning. Over six months, we…read moresuffered from severe communication breakdowns, constant staff shuffling without notice, and zero respect for our schedules--including being offered 6:00 AM meeting times despite providing clear availability. We had to constantly chase them down just to schedule our 30-day walkthrough. Less than 10 days before our wedding, we still had no timeline draft. When it finally arrived, it was essentially blank, misspelled our last name, and forced us to do the heavy lifting with information they already had in their portal. On top of that, a different coordinator than the one we had been working with showed up to direct our rehearsal with zero prior notice. While the day-of setup went okay, the night ended on an incredibly unprofessional note when an assistant coordinator cornered the groom's father to state that "this is usually the time in the night that we get tipped," putting him on the spot. Ivory has since dealt with this employee, but it demonstrates that they have little to no vetting for day-of coordination staff. Ivory Events made us feel like an afterthought and forced us to do the job we paid them for. Every other vendor we hired was fantastic--save yourself the headache and book elsewhere.

From the moment she responded to our initial outreach to the day of our wedding, Lindsey was a thoughtful, kind, and happy person to be around and work with. We received a lot of emails from vendors with ten or more exclamation points in their congratulations to us, which always felt fake and over-the-top to us. Lindsey never felt like anything but a genuinely amazing person who we liked talking to and working with. When we spoke to Lindsey, we immediately clicked with her and loved her thoughtful questions and approach, and it was an incredibly tough decision to ultimately hire someone else who had 10+ more years of experience as a wedding planner, because we thought that decade of experience would give us the peace of mind we needed, especially as we were planning the wedding from out of state. We were wrong. We ended up letting our other coordinator go 2 1/2 weeks before our wedding, as that individual came to meetings wildly unprepared and was just generally unprofessional. Thankfully, Lindsey was available and willing to step in at the last minute and be our day-of coordinator. She stepped in without any hesitancy, and working with her was immediately night and day to what we had previously experienced with the other coordinator. Before our first call, Lindsey had gone through all of our contracts and knew all of our vendors, our proposed timeline, and had pertinent and timely questions. She asked us about everything from the number of wine glasses to ways of rethinking our timeline to give us more time with our guests, and just generally made sure we had thought of every last detail ahead of the wedding. I cannot quite express the weight that lifted from my shoulders knowing that Lindsey was on top of things. She is a joy to be around in a genuine way and made the short time before our wedding stress-free and allowed us to just be excited for the wedding! Lindsey came and picked up boxes and boxes of decor from my home a few days before the wedding, because it was the only time that worked for me to give it to her, even though I know it was not her preferred time. Everything she did for us was just above and beyond. The day of was a dream, despite some hiccups, and that is all because Lindsey was working in the background to make sure we weren't stressed out about anything. By way of just one example of how she juggled things and stayed amazing, Lindsey talked to our ring bearer and kept him engaged so that he wouldn't miss his mom and would stay quiet and calm as we waited to walk down the aisle, while also making sure everyone else walked at the right times. Things that went wrong that we didn't have to deal with/that Lindsey made right: Despite all of our detailed planning, my father in law forgot to pick up the bouquets from the venue for our first look photos. The arbor didn't have any greenery on it and had these goofy little pinwheels on it that looked terrible. The pies (from a vendor I found) that we had so meticulously tasted and agonized over the flavors of showed up so undercooked that our caterer didn't feel comfortable serving them. It rained in the middle of our ceremony. Lindsey made sure we had flowers ready the moment we arrived at the venue, had the florist switch out the arbor decorations so that they looked elegant and beautiful before guests even arrived, someone from the catering staff drove to a grocery store to get ice cream so that we would have dessert, and our cocktail hour was moved inside and the appetizers went from a table to passed appetizers, while half of our dinner tables were moved around so that guests weren't blown or washed away by the wind and rain, and it was all done without their knowing the cocktail hour wasn't always planned for inside. If you're looking for someone who will help you to make your wedding your own, and allow you to just be in the moment and enjoy your day, I cannot recommend Lindsey highly enough. She stepped in when she didn't have to, and stepped up in every way imaginable. She's amazing!
