I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive. I'm from out of town so I'm probably not a repeat client (wish I could be!). And I had a very last minute weekend request. And Jolene pulled through 110%. I would trust her to plan just about anything. You'll be in the best hands.

I found a venue on my own, and they weren't going to send a planner with me to tour it even though it was in the contract. Weird right? I put my foot down and asked for a planner to be present as it seemed necessary since I wasn't an expert in the planning process. They sent someone fairly young but I said oh well at least she was there. Then, about 10 people were added to my portal as planners within the next two months. I had carefully selected multiple vendors during this time and curated a document with all vendors I requested they speak to for all major categories excluding videography. This was in April. In may, I asked for an update and I heard "we have not heard anything back." I let it go as our photographer was someone who actually was in contact with Ivory Events and our meeting was coordinates swiftly. This is one of two vendors that they actually followed through with. In early June, we went into contract with our photographer. I blindly didn't ask for an update with vendors due to being busy. I asked for an update in July, and heard the same response, that there was no response. In august, my anxiety peaked regarding vendor updates so I started reaching out to my original vendors on my own time. I then found out Ivory Events never reached out to my vendors. I was crushed. I demanded someone call me, especially after I got a casual response asking for my vendor list again and no ownership. It took weeks for someone from Ivory Events to call. They promised they would make it right. I should have fired them then but I gave them a chance again. They did have some effort with photography, floral, and DJ. Granted these vendors are extremely communicative and have been since I met them. They had some involvement in catering. However, the second that we ran into hurdles of a vendor not responding, Ivory events had no real plan or back up plan for what to do. Now, I'm talking 4 weeks of no response from a potential caterer and we were 8 months out so I knew this was super important. I took matters into my own hands and found a different caterer after their failed planning. At this point, I also should have fired them. Instead, I simply kept updating them on the progress I made on my own and research I did on my own. Here is a list of vendors/wedding processes I had to find and secure on my own with minimal guidance or concern from Ivory Events EVEN though it was in the contract for them to do so: Makeup, Hair, Videographer, Caterer, Wedding Dress Shopping, Tuxedo Shopping, Invitation suite, Wedding Website, Wedding Registries, Engagement photos, Save the Dates, Hotel Accomodations, and Transportation Accommodations.  Here is a list of vendors who Ivory Events contacted and initiated on my behalf: photographer, floral, and DJ. This company is nothing but a headache, and zero follow through. If you're smart, go somewhere else. Check their yelp reviews as well!!! I just discovered they were also called Seize The Day Event Planning. Those reviews are spot on to my experience.

Yikes! I hate to have to do this but it seems necessary. I started looking in to Ivory events…read morebecause they had a great track record. We're planning an event next year at The Woodlands in Morrison. I saw great reviews and a good offer from them. As usual, I spot check references, so I was excited when they told me they did 'a few weddings' at The Woodlands. So, of course I asked The Woodlands if they liked working with them. The Woodlands said, although they have weddings planned with Ivory Events, they have never worked with them. Hmmm, I thought maybe there was a mixup? So, I asked Ivory events for specifics around the events they organized. I received this rude response "We have an upcoming wedding there on 8/30/2020, but unfortunately to get the exact dates of the other weddings I have to search through our records and we cannot spend our time on that as we have to dedicate our time to planning our clients weddings. " In other words, we didn't. They are too busy to confirm that they did, at least. The venue said they didn't. I'm surprised to say the least. They have a great track record but chose to outright lie about their experience. That's a big red flag. I would have likely still worked with Ivory Events if they were honest and upfront. The fact that they were willing to lie about their experience, thinking I wouldn't look in to it, is extremely concerning. I would not recommend working with them.

The entire staff is so welcoming from the very first visit with them. When we toured the venue we instantly fell in love. The creek is so beautiful, along with the large trees all along the canyon. For us, the venue was the perfect size. We did not want something that would be too large where our guests were all separated. We had a moderately small wedding (90 people) and we were all together, yet not crammed in. Lyndsey was our day of coordinator. I can't write enough good things about her. She always greeted us with a smile, and walked us through the entire process. She never got frustrated, or failed to be understanding no matter how many dumb questions we asked. She was not only kind to us, but to our families as well. So many of my family members came up to tell me just how nice she was. Lyndsey made the entire wedding run so smoothly and I could not be more grateful. Amber took over after we left and she was nothing but kind! She made the remainder of the night stress free. Lyndsey and I had spoken about doing dirty sodas for drinks in the bridal and grooms suites since my husband and I are not big drinkers. Ultimatley, we decided just to stick with mimosas as we would've had to bring in the soda and I didn't want that extra stress. When we arrived, Lyndsey had set up a dirty soda station with Dr. Pepper (which we knew was our favorite.) This was such a small thing, but it meant the world. Lyndsey went out of her way to do something for us, although she had absolutely no obligaiton to do so. The food at the venue was delicious, I did not dislike anything that I tried! DJ Will was amazing and kept the party going all night! He timed the music perfectly as we were walking out. The venue staff came together and packed up all of our decorations so it was easy to load into cars and leave. Overall, starting out this process I was insanely stressed. I had no clue what I was doing, where to start or what to do next. Boulder Creek completely relieved all stress I had. Besides being anxious to walk down the aisle, there was not a single time I was stressed out during my day. To anyone debating booking this venue, for the price and staff you could not do better. I would highly highly highly recommend!!

From the moment she responded to our initial outreach to the day of our wedding, Lindsey was a thoughtful, kind, and happy person to be around and work with. We received a lot of emails from vendors with ten or more exclamation points in their congratulations to us, which always felt fake and over-the-top to us. Lindsey never felt like anything but a genuinely amazing person who we liked talking to and working with. When we spoke to Lindsey, we immediately clicked with her and loved her thoughtful questions and approach, and it was an incredibly tough decision to ultimately hire someone else who had 10+ more years of experience as a wedding planner, because we thought that decade of experience would give us the peace of mind we needed, especially as we were planning the wedding from out of state. We were wrong. We ended up letting our other coordinator go 2 1/2 weeks before our wedding, as that individual came to meetings wildly unprepared and was just generally unprofessional. Thankfully, Lindsey was available and willing to step in at the last minute and be our day-of coordinator. She stepped in without any hesitancy, and working with her was immediately night and day to what we had previously experienced with the other coordinator. Before our first call, Lindsey had gone through all of our contracts and knew all of our vendors, our proposed timeline, and had pertinent and timely questions. She asked us about everything from the number of wine glasses to ways of rethinking our timeline to give us more time with our guests, and just generally made sure we had thought of every last detail ahead of the wedding. I cannot quite express the weight that lifted from my shoulders knowing that Lindsey was on top of things. She is a joy to be around in a genuine way and made the short time before our wedding stress-free and allowed us to just be excited for the wedding! Lindsey came and picked up boxes and boxes of decor from my home a few days before the wedding, because it was the only time that worked for me to give it to her, even though I know it was not her preferred time. Everything she did for us was just above and beyond. The day of was a dream, despite some hiccups, and that is all because Lindsey was working in the background to make sure we weren't stressed out about anything. By way of just one example of how she juggled things and stayed amazing, Lindsey talked to our ring bearer and kept him engaged so that he wouldn't miss his mom and would stay quiet and calm as we waited to walk down the aisle, while also making sure everyone else walked at the right times. Things that went wrong that we didn't have to deal with/that Lindsey made right: Despite all of our detailed planning, my father in law forgot to pick up the bouquets from the venue for our first look photos. The arbor didn't have any greenery on it and had these goofy little pinwheels on it that looked terrible. The pies (from a vendor I found) that we had so meticulously tasted and agonized over the flavors of showed up so undercooked that our caterer didn't feel comfortable serving them. It rained in the middle of our ceremony. Lindsey made sure we had flowers ready the moment we arrived at the venue, had the florist switch out the arbor decorations so that they looked elegant and beautiful before guests even arrived, someone from the catering staff drove to a grocery store to get ice cream so that we would have dessert, and our cocktail hour was moved inside and the appetizers went from a table to passed appetizers, while half of our dinner tables were moved around so that guests weren't blown or washed away by the wind and rain, and it was all done without their knowing the cocktail hour wasn't always planned for inside. If you're looking for someone who will help you to make your wedding your own, and allow you to just be in the moment and enjoy your day, I cannot recommend Lindsey highly enough. She stepped in when she didn't have to, and stepped up in every way imaginable. She's amazing!
