    While shopping for auto insurance right now, I see that my review isn't on here from January 12,…read more2022 for this location of a horrible experience I had over the phone trying to get a quote from them so here it is: I called the Geico Lakewood office off of Pacific Highway and two of the employees there were so rude to me. The reason for my phone call was due to finding out information about auto insurance because I requested a quote online about a week or two ago from the above date. The first one named Griselis kept telling me that they don't cover it and when requesting information about it, she told me that she's not allowed to give out any information about the policy you have at Geico. She presumed to tell me after hanging up on me the first time when I called back that it must be something new about Geico being a policy of choice for DoorDashers from what I found online. I did agree that it was not a Geico source, but it was one of the reasons why I called this office to find out more information along with the fact that I just got off the phone with DoorDash as well. It took awhile to get through what I was talking about to her because she just kept talking over me. Then she passed me over to the supervisor, which I didn't get her name (during shift at 3:30pm on 1/12/22), stating right off the bat without letting me speak that they do not offer any insurance options for DoorDash or Uber or anything else. I asked to see it in writing and she said that she's not allowed to give me that information because it's employee information. I told her that I wasn't asking that and had to keep repeating myself because she refused to listen to anything that I was stating that I did not request for personal information of anyone. I simply wanted to know the policy and see where it states that and she said that proprietary information is not for people who aren't customers. I told her it's a right for me to know your policy as a potential customer or a customer as well. She kept telling me that she couldn't give that information. I do not appreciate how I was spoken to and talked over. This is discriminatory behavior and with no proof in writing anywhere that this is how your employees are supposed to be treating people. It is standard customer service 101 to not behave this way to customers and I will not tolerate it. Yesterday (from the above date), another representative named Bal-di (not sure if I spelled it correctly) who I called back in regards to my online quote told me that he was able to get personal insurance while working for Uber and didn't say anything instead of purchasing commercial insurance according to their policy. I told him that this is fraud, it's illegal. This should not be promoted to potential customers and given the additional experience today, I'm seeing it as a pattern of response according to your training as they say it is that when a customer asks a question, it's okay to respond to them in a harsh manner. I hope that you will do something about this. Your website mentions that you do offer Rideshare insurance as an option as opposed to what was mentioned to me on the phone that there is nothing you guys can do.

    We have been with American Family insurance for a few years and insure four vehicles, a house and…read morethree boats. On September 13 our boat sank at the marina and we immediately contacted American Family. We reported the sinking and then attempted to contact our local agent Tim Lopez, Gig Harbor, WA but American Family forbade him to talk to us. The boat remained underwater for over a week before a salvage company was available to raise her. American Family has refused to cover any expense during the salvage operation or to mitigate any environmental damage or help protect the vessel from further damage. Why? Because they want to collect premiums, not pay out on claims. Approximately, two weeks after losing the boat we received four like form letters that identified the claim and offered to replace our child restraint seat, totally clueless concerning insuring a yacht. We had to burden the cost of raising the boat, some $24,000 and counting. The USCG issued us a warning letter about diesel fuel in the water and the Department of Ecology is concern about the environmental consequences. In the meantime American Family has not done anything to help us and is looking for a way to deny the claim. Ironically, three weeks after losing the boat they assigned a Claims Investigator/Marine Surveyor to inspect the boat on October 6th, timely? He offered no explanation for the boat sinking but agreed they was nothing we did to cause the accident. After one month and counting we received no response from American Family. We have secured an attorney and filed a complaint with the Washington State Insurance Commission who gave them until November 6th to respond. Do not insure your boat with this company because they are incompetent when it comes to marine claims and the many issues involved with the USCG and Department of Ecology.
