We have employed Scott twice - once in 2013 for a refinance of our current home and then a few years later (a few weeks ago) to refinance the same home. I have to emphasize that due to an unemployment issue a few years ago, our credit had taken a major hit. Another financial adviser in Tacoma who I won't name just told us what a hopeless case we were and told us to come back when we had our act together. Fast forward a couple years later. Scott gave us guidance on how to improve our credit, saw we were trying to improve, and he helped us steadily along our path. He doesn't let things slide and is good on following up. When we thought we couldn't achieve our goal, Scott had faith in us and treated us with respect, and helped us best he could for a favorable outcome. We signed papers the other day and were able to get the funds needed for some critical home projects at a good interest rate. Our mortgage has gone up some - but that's okay when you take into account that he also helped us consolidate and pay off other large debt (car payment and other home we were renting out) that overall will save us tons on interest. He truly cares about his clients and is not just extremely knowledgeable in his field, but also polite, personable and upbeat, respectful and respectable, confident, good communicator and even funny at times - just a real pleasure to work with. He even said it was okay to call or text him late at night to answer questions (but check with him first on that!). When the transactions were all over we even received some customary gifts from his team! I personally cannot imagine a better person to work with, and totally recommend him to anyone needing a lender. Did I mention that his staff is awesome too? Friendly yet very professional. We saw an opening to reorganize, so we quickly found Julie and she was ready to meet with us same day and time. This is our first house so we did not want to be strung along. Our goal was to find someone local to our Gig Harbor Community and our target was to be able to work with a professional and to find our home all in due time. Our only disappointment came from the mortgage agency. We did not find out until shortly after papers had been signed that we would receive a letter in our new house's mail box stating that our local lender sold our mortgage to a different company that had very poor ratings. While the hundreds of pages we signed must have mentioned it somewhere in there that this could happen, it was hidden and not very transparent. When we chose a mortgage company, we wanted that to be our company, We had set up automatic payments from our bank and all, that we then had only a few weeks to change to make sure our money didn't go to the wrong place. Plus, once we signed, we were swamped with letters from all kinds of unrelated real estate ventures, mostly scams. All of sudden, every agency automatically wanted our money for this insurance or for that coverage. So we had no way of knowing if the "send your money to an entirely new company and new address" letter was a scam or legit. Julie broke it down for us and helped reassure us that this letter was legitimate. So far we've been paying on time and are excited about the future.
