Our garage door opener was getting old and was very noisy. We decided to pull the trigger on a new one when Costco had $50 off the one they offered. Next we had to find someone to install it. I called 5 places and got 4 quotes (one business would not give a quote over the phone). Caliber was the lowest. I called one of the other businesses to inquire why they were more expensive. They said they use better quality parts. Huh? I already have. The opener you just need to show up with tools. I called Caliber and spoke to Bill, he asked me a few questions about my garage door and then gave me a two hour window for the technician to show up. The day of installation arrived and the technician showed up right in the middle of the two hour window (I used to them showing up late). The guy got started immediately and in about an hour had the new opener installed and all the remotes programmed. He answered all of my questions, gave me a few pointers on maintenance, and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. If you are going to have someone work on your garage door, by all means do some reasearch, call around, get quotes and ask lots of questions. In the end you'll find Caliber has fair prices, they are easy to deal with, their technicians show up on time, answer all you questions and don't try to upsell you stuff you don't need. This is what Yelp is all about! Helping me find a local professional when I have no clue who to trust. Based on all the great reviews for Caliber, and the so-so reviews for other garage door service companies in the area, I went with Caliber and had an awesome experience. When I first called, they said they could try to make it out same day, even though it was about 2pm. My fix wasn't that urgent, so I set an appointment for 2 days later that worked better with my schedule. The woman on the phone was quick and polite and as with everyone else's reviews, quoted me $185 to replace the two tension springs on a roll up two car garage door without insulation. I looked around and found the parts as cheap as $60 for the pair, but I would have also had to buy some steel rod to make tools out of, wait for shipping, and with never winding a set of garage springs before, it was well worth the extra $100 to have the professionals do it. On the day of the appointment the service guys, a father and son team, showed up 10 minutes early and spent no longer than 20 minutes at my house. They de-tensioned the spring that hadn't broken, put on the new springs and tensioned them, and fixed the cables that came loose. I was extremely happy with the quick service and the great job they did. After seeing a bunch of YouTube videos of amateurs showing you how to do this job, I think it would have taken me 2 hours to do the same job that they did in 20. read more

Called these gentlemen, based upon a referral from another garage door repair facility and was pleasantly surprised. Was told they could be here within an hour and a half. They arrived 1 hour and 15 mins later to repair my broken garage door spring. The job was done in 15 mins and only cost $185.00 for a double door garage. My Story Our garage door suppose needed replacement, found Caliber doors in home improvement advertising book, called them msje appointment to come in looked at my garage door, Brendan arrived and looked at it took measures and estimate that was suppose given us a discount, we were satisfied with sales maners we thoughtfully find a reliably company and associate representative person " Brendan " we got to agreement $2,700 will take 10-12 weeks he asked for $270.00 deposit than wrote a contract given him a check above mention than he left, we started rigth away cleaning up garage for people installing the new door. Than Anthony from Caliber company text me a week before letting me know on Nov. 3, around 8-10 door will be arriving, called back we talk confirmed also ask if special ordered door as written in contract, he said Yes all is good to go, agreed all sounds good, but you were dealing with different people. Brendan was not in picture anymore? but this other people were courteous enough answering my questions, so feel comfortable. So we than When ahead cancelling personal stuff for next morning and moving cars outside in street, drinking coffee with husband waiting for them and garage door My cell phone ringing there was a cashiers lady abruptly telling me that at lifting door that morning they discovered there was many issues with our doors, broken pieces in little windows and panel dents, that she needed to order replacing parts from the factory that made door all broken pieces and she was calling the factory at that moment not getting anyone in the phone yet! so don't know how long will take for door to get it fix! I responded said yesterday was confirmed they told me all was good to go, I'm buying a new factory door, not a second hand door! She answered I'm sorry but doors are piled up in a big lot for long time that noone inspected or lifting looking at it, till is time for delivery. So called Brendan he didn't answered leave a message to call me back, immediate the retund call and tried to patronize by given some kind of free pad, but all we needed was our garage door we have waited for so long, ended canceling order I ordered new door and we did not broke the contract, they did ! Contract is Voided if they didn't performed and they should be returning my deposit ASAP! Due now, not to the fault of the customer. Garage door quality is delivered as expected, which is the only reason for the two star. After few days of the installation the garage door keep opening itself right after it closed. We had to keep adjusting it and it still opens. Multiple times we came home after work and wake up in the morning with a garage door wide open... Now we have to wait and make sure the door is fully closed every time. Also the lady scheduled the appointment was very rude. It was installed during summer and she called at the same day to cancel our appointment due to the weather. We already requested to take time off work. Never warned us this might happen when scheduled the appointment. I asked nicely whether there is any appointment that is sooner since we will wait for two more days, she replied and I quote " well do you want to be responsible if the worker pass out in your garage for the 100+ temperature?" Wow! I was is speechless. There is no need to talk to the costumers with such attitude especially when you are the one cancel the appointment at the last minute. read more

I had a horrible feeling that I was scammed by a garage door company that I had used to replace my springs and motor and looked for a company that could come out and verify my suspicion. I found the Caliber Garage Doors AD in the Home Concepts magazine and called to schedule a service call to see if my suspicions were correct. Bill, the co-partner of the company answered the phone and listened to my story. He gave me a quote, sight unseen, for a 2-car garage door Lift Master motor and for springs installed. (I found that usually no quotes are given over the phone and told that the technician will come out and give the quote then) It was $350 for the springs and $699 for the motor. The invoice I was given from the technician who did my springs and motor was for $6714. He freely gave me his time and suggested to me what to do. I don't review often however I was so impressed with the service from installer Jose and the overall professionalism of Caliber Garage Doors I had to write something. Jose showed up on time was a total professional and did a great job! The job was to replace three old door openers and replace with new ones which he did in about an hour and a half. The price for the job was also fantastic and more than reasonable! This is an industry that usually doesn't have the best reputation but Caliber really stood out heads and shoulders above the rest. Very poor customer service. They were supposed to come between 10 and 11 today. I got a call at 9:30 saying the truck broke down and they'd call me shortly to let me know the status of my order. I had to call at 12, 12:30, then again at 1 and 1:30 and 2 to finally get someone to tell me they couldn't come out today as scheduled. I understand that things like this happen but failing to keep me informed in a timely fashion is inexcusable. I had other things to do today and now will not be able to do them. I had them out a couple of times last year and the repairs never seemed to last very long, also a concern. read more

Needed a new garage door. Got 3 estimates and Caliber said they would match which they did. Door was installed within a week and it was perfect. However, it broke within a month. The cable came off its spool and the rollers seem to get stuck so the door would not close. Contacted Caliber for emergency service but they told me the earliest service was next day and there was nothing they could until the next day. Spoke to the owner manager Jarret who tried to suggest that somehow it was my fault. UNBELIEVABLE. Had to somehow secure the door opening in the evening since it would not close. Was still under warranty but should have called somebody else with 24 hour service instead. Very poor customer service and attitude especially trying to blame me for the damage. No amount of discount is worth this crappy service. Stay away from this mess and find somebody else if you need a new garage door. read more

Be careful. We talked to Bill (the owner) and told him our problem with needing a custom garage door opener and he said no problem and gave us a price. We even sent pictures to make sure that he knew what we were talking about. He sent out someone the next day with the wrong unit. The guy he sent didn't know it was a custom job and said that we can't use that system. He said he needed a jack shaft instead. So we tried to call Bill back but he refused to talk to us. Instead he spoke through Cecilia. She said that Bill misunderstood and now it's going to be $70 more and we have to wait for the unit and that was the best they could do. So we started calling around found someone that was able to do the job for about $150 less! I cannot recommend these people for anything. read more

This company knows how to run a business. Bill is the owner and I dealt directly with him. He gave me a very low price for a great door. Don't go with Mesa or any other garage door company. His worker was on time and the work was well done. Worker spent 3 hours removing the old garage door and replacing with new door. Very clean, on time, honest, no sales pitches, easy to deal with. Excellent service and price! It was a pleasure working with Bill and Rose. Both were very honest and helpful. I also appreciate their integrity, honest, and hard work. Most of all, unlike other shops (i.e. Mesa), they didn't bad mouth anyone. I was fortunate to have taken advantage of their "back to school special" $895, which was a standard insulated Wayne-Dalton double garage door with windows (which will qualify for tax credits) and Wayne-Dalton door opener. I paid the additional $40 for the belt drive and $25 for weather strips. FYI, I received a free upgraded from the manufacturer. Awesome deal and service! You can't beat it! read more

My husband and I are in need of new gates, fencing, and a garage window at our home. Naturally we went to Yelp to see what was out there, and up pops Caliber. After reading the mostly 5 star reviews and looking at their portfolio, we knew we had to at least get a quote. Leo gave me a call and was super friendly, said he could do everything we wanted, and we set up an appointment for a Saturday. He came by along with a colleague to take a look and said he would provide a quote early the following week. He even sent a follow-up email that same day asking for photo examples of what we'd like, which I quickly sent his way. I checked in the following Tuesday, Leo said he'd have something on Thursday. Checked in late Thursday, he said he needed one more day. Still, there was nothing over the weekend. I checked in Sunday (hoping he'd see it Monday) - nothing. Checked in Tuesday - nothing. Finally I sent a "last call" email on Thursday. He finally replies with: "Unfortunately Caliber will not be providing a bid. My apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused." Inconvenienced is definitely the right word. This was the last quote we were waiting for before making our decision. If he did not want to / could not do the work, he should have just said so in the beginning instead of leading us for 2 weeks to believe we'd get a quote. Pretty sure when you have potential clients who are looking to spend thousands of dollars on a home project, this isn't the way to treat them or their time. read more

A spring on my garage door broke and needed to be replaced; (prior to contacting Caliber I contacted Precision Overhead Garage Doors in Ontario. NEVER go to those people I will be writing a BAD review for them!) I spoke with Bill at Caliber and he assured me that he could help me out at a reasonable cost. He replaced the springs on the garage door and at an affordable price he inspected to make sure my garage door was in good condition and didn't try to up sell me!
